Proposed deletion of Hidden Agenda (game show)
The article Hidden Agenda (game show) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Stub. Personnel are not notable. Show came and went so fast that no reliable sources cropped up about it. Searching found only a single press release.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Most laps led
Hello Ben, I was wondering how you make sure a driver led the most laps. Usually I go to racing refrence and count the laps if I think a driver could have led the most laps. With a driver like Morgan Shepherd that's not a huge problem. But if you are going to make a results table of a champ like Bobby Allison that's going to take a lot of time. Do you also you use Racing Reference, or do you know a different website that's got the statistics of the most laps led? Jahn1234567890 (talk) 16:50, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Jahn1234567890: Hi Jahn, yes I use Racing-Reference. When you go to a driver's results for that given season, all the races he participated in are listed, and the race results are linked to the number signifying what race it is in that season. If it's a 400 lap race and the driver led 200+ laps, obviously he led the most; however, if he led 150, I'll click on that number to take me to that race's results page. In one of the last (actually, I'm pretty sure it is the last but I wouldn't bet my life on it) columns on the right, there is a section for how many laps each driver led. That's the process I use; it does take some extra time, but it ensures that I'm inserting the correct information. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 20:31, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
Tables have changed
Hello Ben,
Sorry for bothering you again but since the tables have changed on wikipedia, I was wondering what you think of it and I wanted to let you know how I feel about this table change. I don't know what browser you are using but as far as I know the change is very notable on most browsers. Since yesterday the padding of table cells have been doubled. Bigger tables don't even fit on a page anymore, for example: Dave Marcis. Personally I think the tables are way too big now and look horrible. I am really upset by this change and at the moment I feel like al my result table work on wikipedia has been in vain. I have joined the discusion at Village pump and hopefully this change isn't permanently. Jahn1234567890 (talk) 01:15, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Jahn1234567890: I noticed the same thing. While I do like the old tables better, I don't necessarily see the harm in it as much as you seem to. Marcis' results tables never fit on the page anyway, at least not on my browsers. Basically, I am all for supporting the table size getting reverted back to the old form, perhaps maybe even shrinking them a bit (not to the point where they're unreadable, of course). However, it won't be the worst thing in the world if we can't get them changed back, though doing just that is certainly my preference. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 01:21, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

Family Feud 1985
You're undoubtedly right about when the syndicated version left the air. Some Wikipedians insist that a show "ends" when first-run episodes stop airing, which I assume is the argument in this particular case. But it can be documented that the show was still on the air until September, and it can't be documented (as far as I know) when it went into summer reruns. Let me know if you need backup on this. I do have a user name, but I abandoned it after being persistently harassed by a troll/vandal. 67.197.243.87 (talk) 16:57, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Morgan Shepherd
Hello Ben,
I finished writing the Cup section of Morgan Shepherd at User:Jahn1234567890/Morgan Shepherd. Would you mind checking the page on spelling mistakes? I would like to get Morgan's page to a GA status. Do you think that the page is well enough for that? (once I'm finished writing the Busch Series and Truck series of course) Jahn1234567890 (talk) 00:32, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Jahn1234567890: You came to the right guy, Jahn, I'm 16-for-17 in GA nominations in my time here. Of course, I've never brought a driver to GA status, so we'll see. I'll try to take a look this weekend at the latest (and again, no sweat if you're busy, but if you could help me out by making the template for the Grand National table (once you're finished with Shepherd and Benson, of course), that would be greatly appreciated). --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 00:36, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Jahn1234567890: Also, do you think we should use the new Grand National template for his 1970 results (mainly for consistency reasons)? --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 00:39, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Bentvfan54321: Thanks! I was planning on working on the Grand National table once I'm finished with all this. I can't wait to start working on results tables of guys like Richard Petty, Ned Jarrett, Cale Yarborough etc. I'm not completely sure on that on that one. I think with a driver like Shepherd or Trickle, who only competed in one pre modern season it's a bit unnecessary to create a independent table for just that one season. I think with guys like Marcis who have completed in more pre modern seasons it's best to split it to two tables to keep the tables readable. Jahn1234567890 (talk) 00:49, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Jahn1234567890: I see your point. And I'm with you; completing tables for the pioneers of the sport will be quite a task, but an enjoyable one at that. The number of completed results tables and race reports has come a long way in the past few months, but as I look at the articles of Petty, Jarrett, Yarborough, Allison, Pearson, Flock, etc, I am constantly reminded that we have barely scratched the surface in terms of what needs to be done. I look forward to working with you on many projects in the future. Thanks again! --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 00:58, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

It's actually very easy to find a source that the show aired through September 5, 1986 - the TV listings of any newspaper from that time. What's difficult to document is the number of episodes that were produced, and when they went from first-run to reruns. 67.197.243.87 (talk) 15:38, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

Care to chime in
I'm currently working to get 2015 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 to GA status. An editor has started the review. I'm telling you this because I was wondering if you wouldn't mind clicking this link and read through some of the points he made. I understand Wikipedia's policy on verifiability, but I think some of what he's wanting me to cite is a little unreasonable such as wanting me to cite every last lead change. He doesn't outright say that, but I think he was implying that. After you read through it if I'm not asking too much, would you point me to where I could find a lap-by-lap source?--Nascar king 21:32, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
- I've been busy all day so far and am going out to dinner tonight, not to mention that I have a GA review that I need to get started. I'll try to take a look as soon as I can; NASCAR.com's Lap-by-Lap is usually what I use for my race reports as far as sourcing goes (2010 Sylvania 300 is my FA if you want to see an example of what I've done in the past). --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 18:38, 6 June 2015 (UTC)== Lie Detector links ==

Hollywood Game night question
Hi Ben, how are you doing? I don't know if you remember me from last year but I had a small question about Hollywood Game Night . We were discussing the non inclusion of episode guides in game shows after Aldezd marked he episode guide for deletion. You also said that a list of celebrity guests appearing on game shows like HGN and others of tbe type were NOTSTATS. I hadn't been to the HGN page in a while and when I got there, I saw that someone had added a section to the main page with a celebrity guest list complete with pictures. I was curious if this is all right. If so, isn't adding pictures a bit too much and detracts a bit. Perhaps just a simple list of names.? Just saw this recently and thought I would ask you about proper Wiki protocol. Thanks in advance. 66.130.12.185 (talk) 18:29, 20 June 2015 (UTC)samusek2

2015 IndyCar Series season race recaps
I don't know how well you can write an IndyCar page, but based on your work on the NASCAR pages, I was wondering if you could help me out with the race recaps at 2015 IndyCar Series season. The recaps are well written..... if this was IndyCar Illustrated. A certain IP's been writing them, but they're obviously not written from a neutral point of view, with exclamation marks and enough fluff to make more pillows than Bed, Bath and Beyond can sell. Someone took it to the talk page, though the IP left this pretty odd reply. To make the story short, these race reports need an awful lot of cleaning up. Zappa24Mati 18:48, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
- @ZappaOMati: Wow. They definitely need some cleaning up. I do think there's something we can do with them though. I actually have two GAs (2010 São Paulo Indy 300 and 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championship) relating to IndyCar, so I certainly think this is manageable. I've got some other plans with the Game Show Project that I had in mind for the near future, but I'll see if I can take a look at some point within the week. Oh, and thanks again for pointing out the date; I just copied and pasted my own award onto Z105space's page and thought I'd changed everything I needed to change...clearly I didn't notice the date. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 19:01, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

DYK for American game show winnings records
On 19 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article American game show winnings records, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that each of the top five highest-earning American game show contestants of all time have played on Jeopardy!? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/American game show winnings records. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Care to chime in on this discussion
There's a topic on the WP:NASCAR talk page that I thought you might be interested in chiming in. It's asking what everyone would think about the project page having a section devoted to listing reliable sources for NASCAR related articles.--Nascar king 17:14, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
2006 UAW-Ford 500 FAC
I just read through the article and made a couple of copyedits; it seems in fair shape and I will take another look tomorrow and leave comments at the FAC, or support. One question did occur to me, which I'll post at the FAC if you don't fix it: why don't the points go down with the race position? E.g. Jeff Green was seventh, but got less points than Mark Martin, who was eighth.
FYI, your ping of me didn't work, so it's just luck that I noticed it -- when you ping someone, you have to sign with the four tildes in the same edit that you link their user name. Since you made a mistake with the ping on the first edit, and then didn't use the tildes to sign on the second edit, I was never pinged. When that happens, just delete the signature and re-sign on the second edit and the ping will work. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 17:26, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Mike Christie: Thanks, I was worried that might happen. Regarding Green and Martin, Martin probably got five bonus points as drivers who lead a lap get five points for that alone. Since the spread between positions is less than five points, Martin netted more points than Green, even though Green finished one spot higher. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 17:47, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- Could a note about how points are awarded be added in that section? That would help readers like me. I know a lot of the readers will be NASCAR fans who won't need the explanation, but others will be looking at NASCAR articles because they just read about Danica Patrick or for some other random reason, and it would be good to have the explanation there, or at least linked. By the way, no need to ping me on talk pages, unless I seem to have ignored a comment -- I watch any talk page I comment on. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 18:47, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Harley J. Earl Trophy
I was going through the pictures I shot while I was in Daytona in February when I found that I had some pics of the Harley J. Earl Trophy. I found that, excluding the shots with drivers standing beside it during driver intros, I took four of the real trophy with the names of all the past winners on it and two of the replica that was given to Joey Logano. Should I upload the original, the replica or both?--Nascar king 14:50, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Nascarking: I'm not really sure on that one; I'd suggest asking it on the project talk page. Of course, it all depends on the angles, quality, etc regarding what images should be used (again, I suggest uploading them all, then we'll choose the best ones once everybody can get a good look at them).
- Speaking of, did you get any of the Bristol images uploaded yet? --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 15:07, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
- I'm working on that at this moment. I hadn't been able to until today because my MacBook Pro was on the fritz and being repaired. I should have most of them up before today's race at Road America.--Nascar king 15:09, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
