Hello, I'm Discospinster. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Sher Shah Suri with this edit without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, ... discospinster talk 17:07, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

Hello, BeingFaridKhan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Farid Khan, which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:35, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is the link; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farid_Khan It is not an autobiography. Kindly clarify it. This is a real page. How to add pics in it? Kindly link other personality names too e.g. Aqeel Khan and Aisam etc.

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Farid Khan, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Captain Conundrum (talk) 22:10, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Farid Khan, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:20, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 days for persistent disruptive editing. The block is longer than it would have been, because you several times stated that you were Farid Khan, and then, when it was made clear to you that autobiographies were not encouraged, you several times stated that you weren't. Clearly some of your statements are untrue: which? Are you Farid Khan or not?. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  JamesBWatson (talk) 15:26, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am not Farid Khan. I made this id on behalf of him to add to the article on his name. Please unblock me and let the article remain here.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am not Farid. Please unblock me. BeingFaridKhan (talk) 16:34, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This unblock request does not address any of the concerns raised regarding your editing; specifically you will need to explain your contradicting statements as well as your abuse of multiple accounts in order for an unblock to even be considered.Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 21:20, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please explain this [1] edit, made earlier by you on this page. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:41, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your block has been extended to indefinite, for the following two reasons, either of which alone would have been sufficient. (1) Your username is a violation of our username policy, as it impersonates another person, since you tell us that you are not Farid Khan. (2) You have abused multiple accounts, in violation of Wikipedia's sockpuppetry policy. (If the username were the only issue, I would be leaving it open for you to simply create a new account.) It is accepted practice that the administrator who blocked a user does not decline any unblock request, so that another admin will give an independent assessment. However, my advice is that, if you seriously want to be unblocked, you explain not only why you abused multiple accounts, but why you have repeatedly lied. You said several times that you were Farid Khan ([2], [3]), and then you said several times that you weren't. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:15, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
