July 2016[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Education in Australia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:13, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Topographical surveys has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://www.avian.net.au/topographical-surveys-using-drones/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. — Diannaa (talk) 13:47, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Diannaa for your expert guidance. I was not aware of this aspect of Wikipedia (This part is crucial: say it in your own words.) and thought if the source has been attributed then there should not be any copyright violation. I had earlier gone through the policies in a rush as they are quite elaborated and lengthy. I will go through the policies again and convert my earlier contribution into my own words. However, I see all my contributions from last week (not only those related to the topographical surveys) have been deleted as well as I can't find them in my contributions. Can you please help me understand what I missed there? Thanks for your valuable time in reviewing my contributions. BellaTechie30 (talk) 00:17, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have deleted your article because it was copied directly from elsewhere online: https://www.avian.net.au/topographical-surveys-using-drones/, https://www.fao.org/fishery/docs/CDrom/FAO_Training/FAO_Training/General/x6707e/x6707e07.htm. You can't add copyright text to Wikipedia.— Diannaa (talk) 02:01, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure Diannaa. Will reword it, in my own words and publish that once it's ready. Thanks for your patience. BellaTechie30 (talk) 04:46, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The revised content has been prepared according to your valuable suggestions. Please feel free to review it whenever you are free. it has been published at the same URL: Topographical surveys. Your review inputs are much appreciated. BellaTechie30 (talk) 02:10, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Topographical surveys for deletion[edit]

Topographical surveys are quite a detailed section under surveying and is usually taught in universities as a separate paper. The intent to create a sub topic under surveying was to create more content under "topographical Surveys" instead of making the primary page more bulky. I so have more content related to topographical surveys including their types and examples with images (where ever I have copyright images). This process takes some time and I would hence request this page to grow separately than the broad topic "Surveying". BellaTechie30 (talk) 03:11, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
