How are you getting on?
[edit]Hi there. It looks like you'really now getting the hang of the Wikipedia Adventure. I left a reply to your question at the Teahouse which you can read here. Don't feel you need to keep all those duplicate welcome messages on this page. I was tempted to delete them for you, but it's not really polite to mess with another editor's talk page. Let us know if you have any other problems. Regards from the Teahouse. Nick Moyes (talk) 23:44, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking in User:Nick Moyes. I have been doing good so far and have been really enjoying being on Wikipedia. I will definitely delete those welcome messages. Is there any easier way to delete an entire section than just backspacing the whole thing? --BlakeKbelt (talk) 16:13, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- That's good to hear! You ought to be able to select text just as you do in any word processing package, and then delete it in one go. I never find that task anything like as easy on an iPhone or tablet, though. It's worth saying that once you get stuck in and start making edits, you're almost bound to get some reverted, or receive the odd sharp comment from other editors. Try not to take these personally - we can sometime act like experienced drivers do when they see a learner driver in front of them in difficulties. Some can be very supportive, whilst others can seem very intolerant and impatient. It helps to keep calm, learn from any errors, show politeness and slowly become a great editor. All the best. Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for File:PREP pop music group.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:PREP pop music group.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 19:46, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:PREP pop music group.jpeg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:PREP pop music group.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome!
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, BlakeKbelt, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that ...
- ...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- ...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- ...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- ...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
- ...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process - at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}}
