May 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Treat Myself, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Ed6767 (talk) 20:09, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Tish Cyrus, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Geraldo Perez (talk) 14:07, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Brandi Cyrus. Thank you. Geraldo Perez (talk) 14:09, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

June 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! July 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Bad breath, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:03, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally, it would really be helpful if you would use edit summaries. I see that S0091 has already commented about that to you, and I agree with what they said. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:31, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do not insult other editors[edit]

Please do not violate Wikipedia policy by insulting another editor, as you did in your recent edit to Driving under the influence, where your edit summary said "Please don't be dense". — O'Dea (talk) 00:25, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Important Notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

November 2020[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username, Jocko Homo 2020, does not meet our username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have selected a new username that meets the username policy guidelines, which are summarized below.
Per the username policy, a username should represent an individual and should not: represent a group or organization; be promotional; be misleading (such as indicating possession of special user rights or being a ”Bot" account (unless approved for such purposes)); be offensive or otherwise disruptive. However, a username that contains the name of a organization and also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or “FoobarFan87" is allowed, though, among others, the guidance on conflict of interest and the policy of paid-contribution disclosure are relevant.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our username policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice. 331dot (talk) 11:27, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, that username is too close to an existing user. Please pick another username. PhilKnight (talk) 14:39, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have renamed and unblocked your account. PhilKnight (talk) 15:18, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That's taken as well. You will need to choose something radically different. No need to make a new request, simply change your existing request. 331dot (talk) 15:16, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I have renamed him to that username. PhilKnight (talk) 15:18, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
PhilKnight Ah, that would be why. Thank you 331dot (talk) 15:19, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:57, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting of numbers[edit]

Hello, Wikipedia has no particular preference about whether numbers such as thirteen, twenty, etc. should be spelt out or written as figures. Please do not enforce your personal preference about this, as you have done at Annie Ross. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked. Graham87 03:28, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have ignored this message, so you have been blocked. Graham87 06:08, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
