- Re your message: Thank you for the barnstar, though I really was not copyediting the article in question. Wikipedia can be quite daunting for new editors. I recommend that you check out some of the links in the welcome message that I left you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:25, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Your request for help on the WikiProject Council page
[edit]I noticed the request you made to the WikiProject Council page and thought I would try and help. Is there a certain project you were interested in joining? --Kumioko (talk) 20:31, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
- There are a lot of different animal related projects including WikiProject Equine which is for horses. There is no max number of people so feel free to help out anywhere you are interested. This project has a to do list if you scroll down the page abit or if you have questions about that specific project you can leave a note on their talk page or else contact one of the members. Feel free to add your self to the members list down towards the bottom where it says participants. I am sure they would be glad to help, if not I would be glad to answer your questions. Good luck and happy editing. --Kumioko (talk) 20:55, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Your welcome. Glad to help and welcome to Wikipedia. Just FYI, you shouldn't put a space in front of the sentience when you type. Its what adds the box around the statement like this:
Example
Just type it like this:

Tutorials and such
[edit]Learning by doing is really the best way. A good way to learn about editing Wikipedia is to work your way through the Wikipedia:Tutorial.
You should also make yourself a personal sandbox, where you can practice while you're learning the ropes before actually trying to edit an existing article. You can make your sandbox by clicking on CKruserose/Sandbox. Write something in it and then click "Save". Then you can experiment there with writing, citing sources, etc. until you feel more confident
Once you've done the tutorial completely and had some practice in your sandbox, you might want to check out Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user where you can find experienced Wikipedians who can "adopt" newer users, mentoring them along the way as they learn about Wikipedia. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 18:01, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Help
[edit]The best thing to do is to look for small articles that need a lot of help, then add wikilinks, fix grammar and spelling, etc. until you get the hang of editing -- usually the bad ones benefit from ANY help! Also read WP:CITE and WP:RS to understand how to prove you are writing correct information with citations. WPEQ is always glad to help. Montanabw(talk) 00:34, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
Adoption offer
[edit]Hi CKruserose. I notice that you've put yourself up for adoption under the Adopt-a-user programme. I'd be very happy to mentor you, if you'd like.
I work primarily in anti-vandalism, article deletion discussions, sourcing and large-scale copyedits, with a smattering of article creation from time to time. I'm a bit of a policy pedant, too.
Let me know on my talkpage if you're interested. Cheers, Yunshui 雲水 10:09, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Re: Hunger Games
[edit]Buttercup is mentioned, under the "In District 12" section. P.S.: I'm also a Doctor Who fan :) Glimmer721 talk 23:46, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Adoption
[edit]Hi CKruserose. Now that I've got more than a few meagre seconds in which to reply, let me officially welcome you to the adoption program, and say that I'm looking forward to helping you become a better editor. The first thing to do is ask you what you want to get from this arrangement - if you want someone to check and review your edits, I can do that; if you want to be set specific tasks, I can do that also; if you want lessons in how do do certain things, no problem; if you just want to know that you can get help from someone when you need it and otherwise want to be left alone, that's fine too. We should also look at where you want to concentrate your efforts on Wikipedia - do you want to create new content, tidy up what's already here, fight vandals, seek out sources, assess articles or something else; do you want to focus on one area (WP:WikiProject Equine, for example) or edit wherever you feel you're needed? There are a lot of possibilities!
Have a think about where you'd like to start, and we'll take it from there. Best wishes, Yunshui 雲水 07:37, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
I am srry that i havent replied in a while i have had a very busy month. I will probably not be able to be reached till around may 7. I am really srry about this. Thanx so much for adopting me!--Cheyenne (talk) 18:52, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. Wikipedia isn't a job; you don't get fired if you don't show up every day. When you have some time and want to work on the encyclopedia, I'll be here, and when you don't - well, I'll still be here, because I'm a hopeless geek with no social life. But that's for me to worry about, not you... Yunshui 雲水 19:10, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Where I would like to start is how to create a new page and how to reference it. Im in school right now so i might not answer right away;)--Cheyenne (talk) 19:41, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
- Quickfire response (I'm expecting my sixth-month old son to wake up any second...): follow guidance here, create an article in your sandbox, ping me once it's underway, and we'll take a look together. I should be available properly after Monday. Yunshui 雲水 21:29, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Retired?
[edit]Hi . Just checking to see whether you're still around; it's been more than a month since your last edits. You're under no compunction to edit anything, of course, but I like to check my inactive adoptees from time to time to make sure they haven't given up! Yunshui 雲水 12:27, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi CKruserose. Some months ago, I pointed out that there's no minimum level of activity required to edit Wikipedia. That's as true today as it was then, but in order for an adoption to be successful, some degree of regular editing is required. Since you haven't edited anything for the last three months, I'm inclined to suggest that official adoption isn't ideal for you. As such, I'm going to close the adoption and remove you from my list of adoptees. It's nothing personal, and please don't take it as a criticism (there is nothing wrong with not editing!); it's simply that we're overhauling the adoption process at present and need to expunge inactive adoptees to keep the categories clear.
- That said, please feel free to contact me with any questions or problems you have with editing. I'm more than happy to help you out if and when you need a hand, I just don't think that a formal adoption arrangement is going to be particularly beneficial for you. Look forward to seeing you around - enjoy Wikipedia! Yunshui 雲水 12:24, 19 September 2012 (UTC)
