Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Arbroath and Broughty Ferry (UK Parliament constituency), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SNP. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Could You add a source to your edit of the List of judo organizations

Hi, Could you add a source to this edit? IPPON01 (talk) 10:20, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Yes, done. It was a four day suspension rather than a revocation of affiliation. But all statements in the article should be sourced. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 11:08, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

The Bear, Oxford

Hi. Do you have evidence that Steve and Sonya Lowbridge were landlords at The Bear? My assumption when I was working on the article is that they were fictional characters created by Colin Dexter based on the real landlord Alan Course; though there is a Steven Lowbridge, who was manager of The Eagle & Child, and there is a couple in Oxford by the name of Steve and Sonya Lowbridge, so it is possible they are real people who Dexter knew as landlords of The Bear. SilkTork (talk) 13:59, 28 September 2024 (UTC)

Yes, although you might object to the sourcing. I worked at the Bear from 1998 to 2001 when they were managers of the pub. Colin Dexter was a semi-regular when I worked there. Steve transferred to the Eagle and Child in 2002 and I worked there too from July to December 2003. Catfish Jim and the soapdish 14:20, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
There are usually records of who is/was the licensed landlord of a pub. Some pubs like to display a chronological list of those who were landlords. I think it would be useful to add a sourced statement saying that Steve and Sonya Lowbridge were real landlords at The Bear. If we can't, so be it; in the meantime I am content with the "fictional" being removed. SilkTork (talk) 11:10, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
