November 2023[edit]

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Cyberattack did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Sharing what I've learnt[edit]

Hi @Clepushka- it's taken me a while to work out all the rules of wikipedia, but thought I should point out an important one. If you set out a claim about a company you're writing about, you can't use their website for your citation. You need to find a "reliable source." Hey - just noticed your good condensing edit to Currency War. Just to advise it's not stricktly true you cant use a company website to cite claims about them. It would depend on the nature of the claim. As per WP:Primary , primary sources can be used to make 'straightforward, descriptive statements of facts'. Generally we prefer secondary sources, but for certain types of non - controversal information, primary sources can arguably better. E.g., when relating what the topic says about itself, or maybe when it's info that's likely to be updated in a primary source, but prone to soon being out of date in a 2ndary. As I say, just sharing what I've learned! When I've done articles and used a primary source more than once, I've often got some serious feedback from senior editors. I've also found that when you are upfront about it in the copy, it is much more acceptable. So, you can say,

"As the organisation says on it's own website, "quote"" then that seems to be okay. MatthewDalhousie (talk) 03:28, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet[edit]

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Waskerton per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Waskerton. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
