This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Victory Services Club, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.vsc.co.uk/who-we-are. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 12:23, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to Victory Services Club has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 12:33, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article The victory services club has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for repeatedly re-adding copyright material to Wikipedia after warnings and a previous block. Please stop. You are welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. You must not add copyright material to Wikipedia unless a proper copyright release has been made. For how to do that, if you yourself own the copyright, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials; if some one else does, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. JohnCD (talk) 10:42, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to that, I would also recommend that you have a look at our frequently asked questions for organizations and companies, WP:BFAQ. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Amalthea 11:16, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Block message:

repeated copyright violations

Decline reason: You were not autoblocked. You were directly blocked for repeated copyright violations. For the third time. — Smashvilletalk 14:04, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You were blocked directly, so you're using the wrong template, to appeal the block, follow the instructions in the message above. Anyway, you were blocked for repeatedly adding copyrighted material to Wikipedia. We can only accept content that is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution license. For an explanation of this, have a look at WP:C. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 14:07, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistent copyright violations in spite of numerous warnings and three previous blocks, as you did at Victory Services Club. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

as we are a new marketing team and had not edited a Wiki page before, we were unaware we could not take copy directly from our website. We know now the rules and will not repeat our mistake. Please unblock us so we are able to edit pages freely. Many thanks Elisamello (talk) 10:42, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

(1) You have had a string of warnings about copyright issues from May 2010 onwards, many of which you have removed, and you have been blocked three times because of this issue, so it is difficult to see how you can have been "unaware" of the problem. If you mean that you personally were unaware because others had edited from this account before then see the next point. (2) A Wikipedia account is for an individual, not a team, and shared accounts are not allowed. (3) Although copyright was given as the reason for the block, there are in fact various other problems with your editing, several of which have already been notified to you (you have removed many of the notifications) and I won't spend time enumerating them, but perhaps the biggest one is that the account clearly exists purely for the purpose of promotion (consistent with your description of yourself as a "marketing team".) Wikipedia is not a free advertising service, and if an account exists purely or mainly for promotion then that is in itself sufficient grounds for an indefinite block. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi James, I do mean that it was edited by someone else who used this account which is why I was unaware. I am happy to make a personal account to edit the content, but am unable to as I have the same IP address as Elisa's account. I am very new to Wikipedia and apologise if the material was too promotional. The VSC is a charity and so we would like to put on the page a bit about our history and how the Club can be a huge benefit to the whole of the military community. It really does a lot for our serving armed forces - membership is completely free of charge for them and we do respite and welfare breaks which offers free stays at the club for those injured in the forces and their families, including all their meals and activities around London. We will not put all this on the Wiki page, but I just wanted to tell you what we do to emphasise that we are not in the business of selling, but rather, giving. If you unblock this account, I will be able to set up my own account. Once I have done this, I will do some more Wikipedia research to ensure my content is acceptable and not too promotional. I really hope you will consider this appeal, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Elisamello (talk) 12:10, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

if you are not Elise, then WP:GOTHACKED will apply. The bottom line is that WP:COI prevents anyone from promoting their prganization - no matter who is taking over someone's personal account. If anyone from this organization wants to continue to make this type of edits, then unfortunately the account(s) will remain blocked (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:27, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
