File source problem with uploaded files

[edit]

Thanks for uploading the files listed below. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:18, 18 December 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 15:18, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Footballer infobox stats

[edit]

Hello. Thanks for helping to keep footballer stats up-to-date. When you update the appearances, it's best if you don't just add 1 to the existing figure because it may not have been right to start with: look up the correct figure in a reliable source. And please remember to update the "correct as of" parameter as the same time: this is called either pcupdate= or club-update=. The easy way to do it is to replace the existing contents with five tilde characters ~~~~~, which the software will automatically convert to the current date and time. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:34, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I repeat: please don't update stats just by adding 1 without checking, and please change the as-of date at the same time. Before you edited Lee Cattermole, the stats/date were correct, i.e. 10 appearances as of 20 Dec 2009. You changed it to 11 without altering the date. He has actually played 12, see [1], as of now. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 08:55, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No "REAL" please

[edit]

Hi there ERMINAMERAZ, VASCO from Portugal here,

as you have been doing in several Real Zaragoza players, please leave "ZARAGOZA" only in box, the full name in story and intro, let's keep the box compressed OK?

Please respect the other people's work, the same will be done to yours. Also, as the other users say above, when you update stats, please correct the "PCUPDATE" date, also in box.

Attentively - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 23:22, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.

Please take notice of the note above: "Footballer infobox stats". When you change stats without updating the date parameter (pcupdate/club-update) you are adding false information to the infobox. Please stop doing it. Struway2 (talk) 11:52, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sorry.

I'll do better in the future!

PC updates

[edit]

ERMINAMERAZ: you continue to do it even though we have asked you, but you are better now...Please, you should update the date of statistics not only in the STATISTICS chart, but also in the INFOBOX, in "pcupdate =".

Josep Samitier

[edit]

Hello Erminameraz

Where does it say that Josep Samitier scored 333 goals for FC Barcelona (including friendlies) and not 226 as the link says on FC Barcelona's page?

Where do you have the information from?

Thanks.

--Suitcivil133 (talk) 23:07, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PC updates

[edit]

Hi ERMINA, VASCO here,

thanks for starting to add the pc updates in the players' infoboxes. However, you still do one error, the date it's not when you edit, but when the player played the game added (example, you updated Álvaro Cejudo on 18 May 2012, but the updated is not 18, it's the date of the last game, 13 MAY 2012).

Happy weekend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:10, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Barcelona C

[edit]

Please stop removing the Barcelona C in infobox. It was a senior club. Thank you. --Marcospace (talk) 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Yes ERMINA, MARCO is correct. FC Barcelona C is the first club these players usually appear for whilst representing the club, as Real Madrid C. OK? --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:51, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

important updates at Messi's page

[edit]

there is important discussion about messi's page at [footbal]

the discussion about :

1-adding back the assists which have been removed ( and i think its really important ) especially most notable players have it and even less known player than messi have this statistics which is important for any striker .(remember the debate about messi vs ronalod have lots about messi makes more assists than ronaldo )

2-adding back the youth and under -23 goals because they are different statistics from senior one and u cant merge them together . since fifa themself separate them differently .

3-about the table of messi goals and if its important info or just long statistics(useless one).

Thank you all . adnantalk 12 pm 16 october 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jack Reynolds (footballer born 1881), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ajax (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Timestamps

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that when updating the timestamps it should be a time after the match was played. Regarding this edit you made the match had not finished by 10am in the morning. The most preferable option is to add the current time as of when the update was made, using the five tildes ~~~~~. Thank you. QED237 (talk) 23:22, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced edits

[edit]

Hello Erminameraz,

Your recent edits to 2022-23 FC Barcelona season page are not documented. Please, don’t edit without reliable sources. Alba did not play against Valladolid and Busquets does not have 682 appearances. I’m attaching you the official sources: https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/football/first-team/players/4958/jordi-alba ——— https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/football/first-team/players/4963/sergio-busquets Vicpumu (talk) 09:06, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You are wrong. Alba is now with 431 appearences and Busquets 682. There were previous errors in the last weeks (I didn't do the last editings) that i'm correcting now.
With respect, i'm editing FC Barcelona stats since 2009 here in Wikipedia. Erminameraz (talk) 10:32, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again,

I'm not wrong. I am providing statistics based on official sources. Could you attach the source you are using? It is not sufficient reason to spend a certain amount of time editing a piece of content. If you do not provide a reliable source, your edition could be susceptible to vandalism. I can provide official sources. And you? Can you prove that the FC Barcelona website is wrong? Vicpumu (talk) 10:54, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, here you have it, I can show you 2 sites dedicated to football statitstics. Both support my way: https://www.footballdatabase.eu/es/jugador/detalles/45387-sergio-busquets
https://www.besoccer.com/player/s-busquets-27059
You should know FC Barcelona website count some matches that sometimes are not recognised as a full official. It happens the same with the goalscorers statistics, which have two ways of counting.
I know experience is not just a reason, but honestly, I love Barça and I love Wikipedia and, with more than 13 years I've never commited vandalism.
So, what now? Erminameraz (talk) 11:07, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1. I just accessed into the two sources cited and they contain several errors not only at the statistical level.

2. These mentioned sources are not part of any official body or have any accreditation. Who is behind these pages? I do not know.

3. The encyclopedias (not only Wikipedia) in the first instance extract data from the official sources that are authorized for this. If the official sources do not provide an answer, other complementary sources can be cited.

4. I will not start a source battle, as I have also found other unofficial sources that corroborate my position. The battles end when an official source gives its position.

5. On the 2022-23 FC Barcelona season page it is specified that the statistics are taken from the official page. Look at the section: Source. If you want to change this source as it has always been done, you should go to the Talk page. Vicpumu (talk) 11:36, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1. Just as FC Barcelona website.
2. These websites have been cited by media newspaper like Sport and Mundo Deportivo several times.
3. Sometimes official sources are wrong. So sad you don't realize. You just have to see Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets profile page. Where are the match not played by Alba and the match payed in addition by Busquets? Are also wrong these two pages? Where are those matches? You are obsessed with just one (and official, of course) site without making any other comprovation.
4. Which are?
5. Ok, don't worry. I quit english Wikipedia and I'm moving to spanish wikipedia, where the statistics are the correct ones. So sad I found myself in this situation after so many years. Erminameraz (talk) 12:06, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And, to finish, I hope you put your efforts now to correct Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba wikipedia pages. Which now, followinf your information, are wrong. Waiting to see them corrected.
I would like to see what match didn't play Jordi Alba and what match did play Busquets to make 430 and 683 appearences each.
Thanks. Erminameraz (talk) 12:13, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:47, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
