Mladen Brkić

[edit]

Please see my edit for Mladen Brkić. I think he'll win the Albanian Golden boot this year. --Sulmues Let's talk 06:31, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bozidar Sandic: He played for Ofk Beograd [1]. Funny because in the Balkan Cup he played against Albania coached by Broćić and then Broćić had him as a player in the 1947-1948 season. Happens.
Yes Sulmues means striker. When I play soccer, I stay in the middle of the attack or on the right side, Gullit style, hehe.
My team is SK Tirana, I'm a very old supporter of that team, even though I am disenchanted with Albanian soccer nowadays: I just look at the national team, the rest is really low quality. In addition, too much betting contributes to the ruin. Don't look at the 1987 loss with Flamurtari as a big loss for Fkp Partizan: Those days Albanian players were at an excellent level and Flamurtari drew Barcelona twice that same year: Barcelona passed thanks to the away goal. The year after Flamurtari beat Barcelona in Vlore and lost in Spain thank to a very corrupt referee. Bottom line, Flamurtari wasn't that bad of a team at that time and I would have ranked Sokol Kushta as probably one of the top 20-25 best strikers of Europe of that time: He has scored from midfield too: he had speed and precision. Had he been able to go abroad at that time, he would have made it to a good mid Seria A team.
Best luck to Brkic. He'll be a good bridge of friendship.
Another bridge of friendship (besides Fadil Vokrri): Ljubiša Broćić.
Albania drew Portugal 0-0 in Braga with Arie Haan coach and lost in the last minute 2-1 in Tirana with Kuze coach. We're now a team at the level of Belarus, go figure when we'll grow.
And thank you for the very kind note, I really liked reading it! See you around --Sulmues Let's talk 16:11, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes sir he did again, he violated several times the WP:3-RR, but despites he already noticed me for sockpuppetry, meatpuppetry, and more, I just promised him I want to start a dialogue, so I will not be the one who notice him for that, for the moment.

hej

[edit]

Pisacu na engleskom. So... the chetniks were on the side of the germans - but only in late 1944. When the monarchs no longer recognized them, and when they no longer got any help from the allies, they turned to the germans. My problem is that Direktor portrays them as German allies since day one. (LAz17 (talk) 15:05, 4 May 2010 (UTC)). I think it is problematic that there is no mention of the Treaty of Vis. With that, in 1944, the Chetniks lost their backing. Since then we can say that they were not with the allies. They should have disbanded then. (LAz17 (talk) 15:14, 4 May 2010 (UTC)). Another thing that I recommend is to start collecting sources that talk about the allied support and whatnot that the chetniks have done. And german actions against them. Tim Judah's book talks about how the Chetniks collaborated with the germans because the germans were simply killing too many civilians. And that is quite reasonable, when 5000 people get slaughtered in one city in one day... what is one supposed to do... (LAz17 (talk) 15:18, 4 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

In order to help or not to help the first question is do we agree on what is going on. Some people for example would say that the chetniks never collaborated with the nazis and paint the partizans as the biggest evil in the world. It is necessary to recognize that here was collaboration, and that since 1944 they were not legitimate as defenders. (LAz17 (talk) 17:06, 6 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]
LAz, the issue is about Draža Mihailović. There is no question at all that tens of thousands of Chetnik troops themselves collaborated as early as 1942, regardless whatever the two of you may or may not state - we have actual collaboration agreements between the Chetniks and the NDH, the Chetniks and Italy, and finally the Chetniks and the Wehrmacht, all in archives and referred to in scholarly secondary sources. I did recommend you read up on the issue, and I did recommend you skim through the Axis collaboration section of the Chetniks article did I not?
Anyway, since you do admit that the Chetniks collaborated for two years (1944/45), Fkp won't like that since it would require that we mention Draža Mihailović's collaboration in the lead. --DIREKTOR (TALK) 20:38, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless of if they were or were not collaborating in 1942, the fact is that the allies recognized them as being no the side of the allies. The Chetniks were the main recipients of allied beyond 1942. Selective collaboration against an insurgent communist rebel force which was not loyal to the king does not equate to being on the side of the axis since 1942. So I think that you should go complain to the British and American governments for supplying the Chetniks even into 1944. Please really reconsider what you are arguing - that the Anglo forces were supplying hitler's soldiers... give me a break. (LAz17 (talk) 17:18, 7 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]
So fkp, I guess we are going to have to be enemies, now that you started opposing me. Nice choice. (LAz17 (talk) 03:08, 13 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]
If it is not important as you say, then you should feel free to remove what you wrote, or write "weak keep". (LAz17 (talk) 03:16, 13 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

To mi jebilo dovoljno. (LAz17 (talk) 05:19, 13 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]
To je opste poznato. (LAz17 (talk) 17:53, 13 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

FkpCascais (talk) 03:05, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Infoboxes

[edit]

Thank you very much for the information, it was useful because I did not know that there was an actual policy. If anything, I am glad that one as such exists because it now fortifies the bigger problem that people often like to take out "Yugoslavia" in favour of successors. My only reason for giving the "SR Slovenia" or whichever was out of respect for the entity and not to ignore its existence. Of course, we can always add "SR Croatia" or "SR Macedonia" to the main text for the same effect, but I now know that infoboxes are settlement and relevant country at time of birth only. Thanks. Ivan Stojanović

[edit]

Dear Sir.. i paste this text in serbian about Ivan Stojanović. If you could obtain more info about this great author from Dubrovnik.

Svršivši gimnasije s odlikom, stupi u zadarsku bogosloviju.

Niko Veliki knez Pucić, brat srpskoga pjesnika Meda, čovjek imućan i neodvisan, provagjaše život u nauci, baveći se poglavito dubokijem filosofskijem razmišljanjem. Sve to golemo znanje bijaše bistro i lijepo sregjeno u njegovom prostranom umu.

Još je preveo i Engelovu povjest dubrovačke republike, naj jezgrovitiju do sad istoriju Dubrovnika, i nastavio, gdje pisac bijaše prekinuo, sve do najnovijih vremena.

Srpstvo je s Njim izgubilo velika rodoljuba i književnika, Dubrovnik zadnjeg prestavnika starog duha u životu i književnosti, narod dubrovački rijetka svećenika, siromasi velika dobrotvora.

Dokazaše li protivno naši i njegovi protivnici?!

Vječna Ti slava i uspomena u narodu srpskom, i laka Ti gruda rogjene zemlje, koju si Jjubio svim žarom plemenita srca!

Dubrovnik, dećembra 1900.

List of foreign football players in Vyscha Liha

[edit]

Hi, I'm sorry for my English. I correct Vučina Šćepanović about Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih. I agree with You to add also the seasons to the List of foreign football players in Vyscha Liha to the Category:Lists of expatriate association football players. Please, help me to segregate this list by nationality, for example: Bosnian footballers in Ukraine, Croatian footballers in Ukraine, Serbian footballers in Ukraine, Slovenian footballers in Ukraine etc. Also to create article Aleksandar Brdjanin (2002/03 Metalurh Zaporizhya 16 (0)), Đorđe Inđić (2003/04 Chornomorets Odessa 4 (0)), Edin Kunić (2002/03 Karpaty Lviv 1 (0)), Valter Androšić (2003/04 Vorskla Poltava 13 (0)), Dario Brgles (2005-07 Arsenal Kyiv 30 (0)), Mario Dodić (2002/03 Metalurh Zaporizhya 18 (1)), Jerko Mikulić (2002-04 Karpaty Lviv 31 (1)), Ivica Žuljević (2005/06 Metalurh Donetsk 1 (0)), Darko Bojović (2009/10 Illychivets Mariupol 1 (0)), Branko Ašković (2002/03 Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih 1 (0)), Ilija Borenović (2003/04 Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih 3 (0)), Goran Ćosić (2002/03 Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih 2 (0)), Igor Đinović (2003/04 Vorskla Poltava 17 (0), 2004/05 Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih 2 (0)), Ivica Janićijević (2001-03 Karpaty Lviv 7 (0)), Vladimir Milenković (2004/05 Vorskla Poltava 14 (4)), Saša Mitić (2004-05 Volyn Lutsk 42 (8), Zakarpattia Uzhgorod 9 (1)), Ivan Perić (2005-07 Arsenal Kyiv 14 (2)), Miroslav Rikanović (2006/07 Zorya Luhansk 8 (1)), Dušan Šimić (2001-03 Karpaty Lviv 14 (1)), Aco Vasiljević (2000-01 Metalurh Zaporizhya 13 (5)), Rusmin Dedič (2002-04 Vorskla Poltava 20 (0)). (LAz17 (talk) 22:49, 15 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

:) (LAz17 (talk) 03:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hello,

no problem, it's not that I don't wish to participate to the mediation, but I think what should be done is, first of all, to rewrite the article. As a matter of fact, I have just started to do that (I am at the very beginning of what should be a rather heavy workload). I don't mind at all making comments on the "mediation" page, but the work on the article itself (and the honest uses of reliable sources) is what matters most. So far I've been using Buisson's biography for his "early life" details because it's the only biography available, but for the World War II sections, I'm going to use university sources. Tell me what you think and see what you can do. regards Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 10:02, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know what the problem is. However, if the article becomes well-structured and well-sourced (which it is not at the moment), I hope nobody will want to look bad for starting an edit war and re-imposing an obviously biased and unbalanced version. The funny thing is, I don't want to glorify Mihailovic at all. I personally think that the guy probably meant well, but he proved to be a klutz and an incompetent. However, I find his story really interesting, and I think he deserves far better than the current article. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 10:14, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. If you have good sources and info, don't hesitate to make your own edits. What's even funnier is that one of my main sources, Stevan K. Pavlowitch's book, is absolutely damning to Mihailovic, while not describing him as a collaborator. I definitely think the guy deserves to receive an more balanced treatment. I hope I'll do an acceptable work : maybe the fact that I couldn't care less about the Serb/Croat/Slovene rivalities (well, I do find their story interesting, but I'm utterly neutral) will be helpful. But the real bummer is that every single article about Yugoslavia in World War II (and that includes Chetniks, Yugoslav Front, Yugoslavia and the Allies, every single battle...) has to be rewritten and carefully watched. The solutions lies in using good and neutral sources. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 10:30, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Could you just keep the article in check ? I think rewriting all of it might take me several days. Thanks.11:36, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Don't worry, I am being absolutely honest and I have just left a message on the mediation page. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 11:45, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I have made some comments and suggestions on Yugoslav Front and Chetniks's talk page, and also on the "mediation" talk page. Your opinion would be welcome. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 17:10, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. No problem at all. But it would be nice if you could give your opinion on the articles' talk pages. Thanks. :) Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 22:27, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I know I'm late, but I have now resumed working on my drafts. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 15:56, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Yes, I think it's an important issue, and we should get back to it especially when rewriting the Chetniks article. While the Serb element is also central to the Chetnik movement, they were not 100% Serbs. Yet also, many considered themselves first and foremost as ethnic Serbs. We must remember that for many Serbs at the time, "Yugoslavia" simply meant "Serbia". The ethnic element is very important (IMHO the fact that the Chetniks were not able to overcome it is one of the reasons why they failed) but it should be weighed carefully for what it was. BTW, please don't hesitate to tell me what you think of the draft's progress : you might also comment on it on the mediation page. Best, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 16:11, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, definitely ! Most of the earlier Partisan troops were actually Serbs, there is no denying this. Just because Tito was Croat/Slovene does not mean that the line was clearly cut between ethnic communities. Far from it ! Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 16:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. No idea about Tomasevic, but I respect your opinion. However, I just made comments and suggestions at the end of the page and I think your opinion could be useful. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 09:19, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. No problem. As I told you before, I don't have a definitive opinion on that particular matter. Nor do I regard myself as influenced by anyone about this. Cheers, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 19:00, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have "completed" the draft (at least the story is somewhat complete, though I am still fleshing it out). Please give me your thoughts about it, as I am now eager for this matter to be finished. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 09:53, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's right. Not even the schoolgirls are 1,60 in Montenegro; you'll be hard pushed to find a grown male that height. 1.60 is so short, I doubt even the Portuguese have that many small people. Montenegrins on the other hand are known for their stature, and you as a key editor for the footballers must surely have realised that you are entering digits above 1.83 most of the time for them. Players

[edit]

Hey! :) Usually the best way to determine it, is to look at the name and/or clubs he played for. If some player played since his teenage years in Slovakia, he is not a Czech and vice versa. Zvarík is a Slovak surname, his club allegiances confirm this as well. Playerhistory.com shows a lot of wrong information, like here about Karol Dobiaš, Slovak legendary player from Czechoslovak times. Usually, it is really easy to determinate Czech or Slovak nationality, the problems appear only from time to time with Slovak players, who early moved to the Czech part and soon adopted Czech language and culture and assimilated. Jozef Chovanec or Milan Luhový are one of those players to name few ... in these cases the adjective "Czechoslovak" is the best one. Many of players like them even today refer to themselves as "Czechoslovak". :) Slovak players who assimilated in the independent Czech Republic are usually referred to as Czech. Many of them came with their parents as little kids, so they were completely raised in the Czech Republic as Czechs, like David Bystroň for example. Hope this helps to answer your question. :) By the way I work from time to time on new articles about Czech/Slovak footballers but I often miss club info about them (especially about older footballers). If some footballer ended his career in e.g. 2000, it is almost impossible for me to find out exact years/clubs of his career from 1990s and 1980s. Do you have any idea about some good online database? Playerhistory.com seems nice, but it is not free. - Darwinek (talk) 12:01, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Usually it is no problem to find at least decent info about players who appeared in the Czech League since 2004. Still, there are some problems. If a player moves to some obscure club in Iran or China or to amateur clubs in Germany and Austria, it is like he disappeared from the world of football. I don't know how about Croatian or Serbian players, but in the Czech Republic unfortunately many players choose money over quality at some point of their career. You can see many former great league footballers (even the league champions) playing for Euros in 4th or 5th leagues in Germany or Austria. Some of them are even not over the age 30. :( Anyways, to speak about the problem of finding statistics. Last week I was trying to create article about one defenseman, who won the league title with Baník Ostrava in 2004. He is now already retired but back then, he was a backbone of defense, contributing to the surprising league title. I was shocked when I could not find almost any stats about the player, who won the league six years ago. Only stats were from his age of 30 ... I found more after a hard search two weeks later. I don't know, but for me it shows how quickly can a successful man in this country get neglected and forgotten. - Darwinek (talk) 12:43, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about the long comment. :) Maybe you are right, that Czechs managed football teams in foreign countries a lot in the past, serving as some kind of teachers. The fact however is, that Serbs and Croats teach the whole world as well. :) I am always amazed finding out how many of them coached in Turkey, Greece and various other countries long before football became a commercialized sport. These stories are simply amazing. I recall of some Czech coach pioneering in coaching in the 1970s or so, in countries like Algeria and Libya. Those were really truly wild times. :) Today, almost everybody knows how to play football, so our teaching is not needed anymore. :) Unfortunately our Central European football (including e.g. Poland) is not good today. Our leagues lack money, which is the principal problem. We cannot attract quality foreign players and most important, we cannot keep our talents at home. That's what happened to Baník after championship season, they sold out almost half of the squad. The positive sign is, that at least several players from Balkans came to Czech league in last years. :) Andrej Kerić became top-scorer last season. Edin Džeko jumped to his star career from FK Teplice. Various Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian players play here. Some of them are of remarkable help to their teams. Anyways, I am nervously waiting for the World Cup and secretly hoping Serbia will advance from their difficult group. By the way, which club do you support in the Jelen Superliga? :) - Darwinek (talk) 17:26, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Starting from the end of your post. Yeah, Czech society is a bit in crisis, it can be said that way. The society became quite polarized over politics (right and left wing) and many people fear we can end up in debt like Greece. Still, it's not that bad, living standard is high and it is still a cool place to live. About the Serbs' feeling ... I heard and read about that and to be honest, I am not surprised, because it came at the moment of peak power of Yugoslav football. Still, I don't think it is a good idea to create some regional "Yugoslav League" again. You mentioned already some of the problems to smaller clubs, I would add security troubles resulting from matches like Hajduk Split - Partizan etc. There has been a similar idea for "Czechoslovak League" but it is stupid as well. Czech football association is full of corrupt and stupid "businessmen", who have no idea about football at all. Fans already do not come much to matches and joint Czecho-Slovak league would keep them safely home even more. I wish all of luck to the Slovak national team, because I really feel sorry for them. Nobody supported them even in Slovakia. All the years people were just bitching about them and making fun of them, instead of supporting ... and suddenly they are all football patriots. Anyways, I fear they will end up in group, like most of rookie World Cup countries. Well, as for the club I support, my club is Baník Ostrava. However, I have a favorite club in many countries and in Serbia it is Crvena Zvezda. :) I even attended Večiti derbi last November at Marakana. :) Btw. if you'd like to talk on some messenger or facebook, write my e-mail from my profile. - Darwinek (talk) 18:25, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Famos Hrasnica

[edit]

Famos Hrasnica is not equal to Famos Vojkovići, one is Serbs club, one at FBiH. Matthew_hk tc 08:26, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure they are not the same club? I know that F.Hrasnica used to play in the Yugoslav 2nd League (from time to time), and after the war, the Vojkovici Famos appeared. I suposed that they were the same club, just renamed, but neither I was sure. I´ll correct everything if becomes that they are not the same... How do you know? FkpCascais (talk) 05:41, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Famos Hrasnica plays in the FBiH and is a Bosniaks club. Hrasnica as i know there is 3 Hrasnica in BiH, 2 at FBIH and 1 in RS. Famos Vojkovići is a Serbs club. Guessing should base one adequate information. Matthew_hk tc 05:49, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe they separated... Nevermind, I´m doing some minor edits on the articles. See the link I added, it has the book that says "FK Famos Hrasnica", and there was where I found the list of notable players that was found on the page. On the other hand, you deleted the current players list of FK Famos Vojkovići (from Transfermarkt), be more careful, please (not sure why you deleted that)... I have to do it again now. FkpCascais (talk) 05:53, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, when you say "Serbs club" it is Bosnian Serbs (not Serbia). All Hrasnica are in BIH, 2 in Bosnian-Croat Federation, 1 in Rep.Srpska, but all in Bosnia. Depending what Hrasnica is Famos from (Famos Hrasnica), we may know if is or not conected with the Famos Vojkovici (because if Hrasnica is near Sarajevo, in Ilidza, so is Vojkovici, they may have split in early 1990s). FkpCascais (talk) 06:12, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think Transfermarkt is a reliable source. Some information may correct but the transfer and current squad section of lower division often wrong. As there is no official site of the club exist, i think better use bihsoccer.com And Serb Rebublic FA to search a topscorer list to verify the "current squad" Matthew_hk tc 15:45, 4 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gracias y saludos. FkpCascais (talk) 21:12, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What are you talking about? FkpCascais (talk) 23:02, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am talking about this comment, in which you are making personal comments. I have repeatedly asked you not to do that. Sunray (talk) 23:21, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I´ll rephrase it there. Honestly Sunray, I had just exposed a great problem that occured in almost all sources that were missinterpreted, exagerated or completely falsifiyed by that and some other users. I do feel that attitude was shamefull. I urge some action on that. FkpCascais (talk) 23:31, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds like a reasonable approach to me. But even in your remarks, above, statements such as: "... exaggerated or completely falsifiyed," and "that attitude was shameful" are personal attacks. I've explained this before. If something is incorrect, state your reasons why you think it is and back it up with examples and sources. If you stick to the content, and avoid the judgements, we will be able to make more progress. Would you be able to do that? Sunray (talk) 00:01, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I hope I will. Honestly, I do understand you well, and I even completely agree with you on these comments issue, but it has been a bit difficult to keep allways cool-headed. I hope I´ll be able to make you soon here, with time, a wider and precise explanation about the issues that warry me, and make me be jumpy on these ocasions. RE:Foreign players in China prior to 2004

I would like to complete a list of foreign players in China prior to 2004 but the information I got is too limited. Alexchen4836 (talk) 17:51, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regardin a page

[edit]

{{helpme}} I have a problem regarding a page that I created. FkpCascais (talk) 00:26, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's the problem? Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 00:28, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Sorry to bother but something happend that could have been done in a better way regarding Rafael Barreto page. The page content was moved to a new created page, Rafael Barreto (footballer) this way loosing the page its edit history. What should have been done was that the page, about a footballer, should have been moved, and then a new disambiguation page should have been created, thus, not loosing the edit history. Am I right? FkpCascais (talk) 00:31, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Somebody has tagged Rafael Barreto (footballer) for a history merge, which would solve this problem, so I'm negating the {{helpme}} template. If you need any additional help, feel free to add the template again and ask for help. Robert Skyhawk (T C B) 00:42, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)You are indeed right. This is known as a copy-and-paste move, and can be fixed by an admin but is a bit tedious. You can follow the directions at WP:CPMV and/or list it at the holding pen. Intelligentsium 00:45, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did the deed and notified administrators. Cheers, Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 00:49, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. I was already preparing to see how to do it. Many thanx again! FkpCascais (talk) 00:51, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tahir Jaganjac

[edit]

No, I do not know anything about him. There are two sets of Jaganjac families....one that hail from Northwestern Bosnia and, in my case, from Bileća, Herzegovina. My great grandfather later moved to Stolac, where I was born.

But Haris Jaganjac that used to play for FK Sarajevo, the head of Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina licensing program (coaching) in Jablanica is my distant cousin. His picture: http://edunsbih.ba/index.php?Itemid=31&id=36&option=com_content&task=view

I believe 1991 was the last year he played. I think he hurt his knee and had to quit.

Stop

[edit]

I have spoken to you several times about sticking to content and not making personal remarks to/about other participants. However, in the last several days, you have repeatedly done this. I want you to stop. If you continue down this path, there may be no other choice but to exclude you from the mediation or block you until you cease. This is the last warning I will give you. The other party is also being warned. Sunray (talk) 07:44, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I note that you edited some recent posts. I like the way you are reconsidering the way you come across. Thanks. The next step might be to edit them before saving.  :) Sunray (talk) 07:31, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much Sunray. Initially, I used to be much different (polite and less words), and I allways touth that other people will see the trouth, but unfortunately across time and some discussions here on WP, I noteced that people don´t have much time and punished me for not defending myself. That quite traumatically teached me that I really had to fight every word I disagree with all strenght. I hated it, and I am very glad to see that here, that will not be the case, and that I can go back to be the normal "me" again. Unfortunatelly, it looks that I still need some time to addapt back... but I promised you I´ll make my best effort and I will. Thank you once more for your kind words, I really needed them. :) FkpCascais (talk) 08:03, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I note that your posts on the mediation talk page are becoming more lengthy. If you recall, when we started, I urged participants to keep it brief. That is still a good idea, IMO. It helps others understand your point. Sunray (talk) 18:08, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:18, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

End of idiocy

Hi. I'm done with this nonsense. I think I was concise enough, and have nothing else to add. I was upset for one moment, but I think some things are better ignored. However, I have told Sunray that I really don't feel like working on any kind of mediation with this individual, at least for the moment. cheers, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 16:05, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cooperation for players from the old Yugoslavia

[edit]

if you want we can start a cooperation to enlarge voices for those players on english and italian wikipedias..93.32.232.136 (talk) 19:40, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That is an area that I have been editing here for some time now, and any kind of cooperation in this area is welcomed. Can I help you in any way? Can you help me in finding league squads from any of the ex-Yugoslav leagues from the 1990s? :) FkpCascais (talk) 19:49, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you're looking for informations about ex yugoslavian leagues, on Gazzetta dello Sport maybe there are some articles, talking about the age between 1997 and 2010, if you want I can send the link and I can help you to translate the articles.. then I can help you to translate ex yugoslavian voices from it.wikipedia, if you want, for example pieces from Antonio Vojak or Ivo Šuprina.. I need instead informations about career in former Yugoslavia, what for example Šuprina did before and after he came Italy.. how much you understand italian?93.32.232.136 (talk) 22:24, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I thank you very much for your offer. It may be usefull, but I doubt I am going to bother you with translations because I generally understand Italian almost entirely, specially when written. For exemple, I read Gazzetta often and I could say that I probably understand everything except some ocasional specific words, but even than, many times I get it with the logic of the sentence. Beside speaking perfectly Spanish and Portuguese (I even worked as a translator when younger for this two languages), I had 3 years of Latin in highschool, so with all these it makes me understanding Italian quite normal. Beside, my mother speaks Italian because she lived in Milano when young, and she had started teaching me Italian when I was young because back then (and still now) I really wanted to learn to speak it, at least, good. Reading Topolino when child and Gazzatta dello Sport troughout years had really kept me constantly in touch with Italian, beside having also Italian friends living here, but unfortunatelly, in my group of friends, we usually speak Portuguese or English because that way everybody understands. Watching RAI, or other Italian channels on TV while getting delighted :) with the ammount of beatifull Italian women also helped. I learned to read it well (the sounds of gl or zz are no strange for me, beside not used in Spanish or Portuguese), and when talking I can improvise quite well (specially with a drink or two ;) , I only have trouble understanding when people speak too fast. Sometimes, I understand all, and sometimes almost nothing, and I beleave it has to do with the dialects of different regions. OK, I´m sure now I´m getting you borred with all this talk on my skills with Italian, I apologise :)
Regarding football, I´m desperately trying to find league squads for the period of pre-war, 1928-1945 (including, if possible, teams during ocupation, 1941-1945), and the period 1946-1974. I´m also missing the FR Yugoslavia, and others (except Slovenia, wich I have) league squads from 1991 to 2000. I have some clubs (Partizan, OFK Belgrade, Hajduk Split, but most are missing).
Do you need any help from me? Translations? Feel free to ask whatever, please. Do you have an account on it.wiki? FkpCascais (talk) 05:04, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't an account on it.wiki..93.33.1.127 (talk) 07:54, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The Gazzetta archives can help me mostly with European Cups matches of Italian teams against some ex-Yugoslav, but they don´t follow the leagues from there. You´re right, there is almost nothing about it on the web. Don´t warry, I want ask you to go to Trieste :) ... Unfortunatelly, there isn´t much about the league neither in ex-Yugoslavia. There are books wich I´ll try to see when I go there on holliday, but I don´t think that this year I´ll be going. Slovenia is the only one to have their entire league players listed, with clubs games/goals, here Prvaliga.si. For Serbia, the best are srbijafudbal.net for league players, and Reprezentacija.rs for National team (including ex-Yugoslavia period). There is a Lige SCiG for the 2003-04 season, with most players careers, and there is only Tripod with squad lists for 1998-99 season. Have you checked the English wiki version of the Italian wiki link you gave me? Here Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Links. Regarding the emeroteca italiana link, I beleave they may have probably the Yugoslav Olympic teams, I´ll chech them this days... For the players from pre-WWII period in Italy, I have been using RSSSF, and completing the Yugoslav clubs using all I can, but if he played for National team, is more easy because you have his career certainly in Reprezentacija link. Do you want me to give you more links? FkpCascais (talk) 09:25, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
yes, thank you very much, more links will help a lot.. emeroteca CONI will have every news about matches between italian and yugoslavian matches (Mitropa Cup, for example) but I don't know how much it will help, there are too many informations to read and edit.. there are something like 29 years to read..93.32.255.206 (talk) 14:44, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why?

[edit]

Re: Recent remarks. Honestly Fkp, why do you do this? It contributes nothing to the mediation or to your cause. Sunray (talk) 06:36, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Which ones? On your talk page? If so, please let me explain. FkpCascais (talk) 06:40, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No please let it go. You don't seem to understand what I've been saying about personal comments. Sunray (talk) 06:47, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But please Sunray, please try to understand that the question I made was a normal reaction for someone who went trough this process. I could/should have avoided to include in the question all the reasons why the question is logical and human, I understand now. It´s just that it was an enormous surprise. Also, I do feel bittered because he got JJG enervated, and I am doing everything possible to make him stay. JJG already gave up once on the article because of confrontation, I really hope this doesn´t happend twice. I really want us to have this mediation going (it is), and I hope you don´t have any doubts about my intentions. I do understand now exactly what you mean about my comment, and I promise you that I´ll be way more carefull and do my best to, if possible, antecipate and avoid everything that may lead to a discussion, or confrontation that is not productive for the mediation. I hope you can accept my apologise for this. FkpCascais (talk) 07:29, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, true. However, see my comments on the mediation talk page about win/win vs win/lose. You were in win/lose mode, IMHO. We can only progress if we put our energies towards everyone winning. I like your spirit and your will to learn. If you direct it towards win/win, we will make progress. Sunray (talk) 18:42, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Sunray. I honestly beleave and many times uncounciently defended the win/win situations, but the major problem in this case was that the other side was not in that mode, so the first one to enter in it, the other side would inmediatelly take advantage and see it as a weekness from your side. I tryied many times in begining this, but it failed, and then it was more, to me, damage control situation... To be in this mode, it needs someone to supervise it (unfortunatelly, you) and understand it when hapends, so we avoid the other side taking advantage of it. I´m not sure I choosed the best words to describe it, but I think is understandable, what I wrote, and I´ll be supportive. FkpCascais (talk) 08:51, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
