Editing with a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, UTVDC Construction. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Largoplazo (talk) 13:59, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:02, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I'm not intend to use the page/article as advertising or promotion for the company. I just want the company to be known and I'm confident that by using Wikipedia which most of the people on earth using this website, so I just want to be part of it. I'm willing to edit all the information which will be against your policy. I'm hopeful that at least you can give me a chance to edit my article and unblocked my account so that I can continue working on it because I'm still studying your coding and guidelines

Decline reason:

I have renamed your account for you, but I can not unblock at the moment. When you say "I just want the company to be known", you are fundamentally misunderstanding the purpose of an encyclopedia and of Wikipedia. To quality for an article in Wikipedia, a company must be already known to a standard that satisfies the notability requirements of WP:NCORP. Should the company some day achieve that level of notability, then someone can create an article about it. But until then, you will need to agree not to write about it if you wish to be unblocked, and tell us what else you want to write about instead. "I just want the company to be known": Making yourself or your business known, drawing attention to yourself = using Wikipedia for advertising. I'm sorry, that isn't permitted. Wikipedia isn't a website for outreach or networking. Also, article topics have to meet the notability guidelines. I don't believe your company does. Please be aware that Wikipedia is not a business directory, and not every company gets to have an article simply because they exist. Companies must be demonstrably notable per Wikipedia's notability criteria for companies to be considered worthy of inclusion.
Also please be aware that if you are affiliated with this company, it is considered a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI are not prohibited from writing about an affiliated subject, but highly discouraged because of the difficulty writing from the required neutral point of view. If you are employed or otherwise represent this company in a paid capacity, you are required to disclose this relationship per Wikipedia's terms of use and rules on paid editing disclosure. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:52, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

{unblock-spamun|gafpjames12345|Sorry but I'm not affiliated to the company nor I own it. I just follow the instruction in youtube and I thought creating a username should be the same as the Article name. I just try to make an article because I used Wikipedia a lot when reading some articles. so I thought I could start with a simple article like this company. Anyway, maybe this is not my expertise of creating article. Thankz anyway for the experience, especially the coding.}
