^^ Hey who are you

Dear Gillian. I'm afraid that you misunderstood my intent on the "Blaster" Al Ackerman page. This was not meant to be vandalism. This was meant to be writing that reflects accurately Mr. "Blaster" Al Ackerman's intent, "humor," and Neoist mode of thinking. I'd suggest, Gillian, that you read some of Mr. "Blaster" Al Ackerman's writings and then judge for yourself. (My apologies and more explanations have been added to the "Blaster" Al Ackerman discussion page. I refer you to them.) I repeat, you misunderstood the additions to the page to be vandalism. They were not meant to be so. Thank you. Please remove your message. Indeed your removal of my well-intentioned addition to "Blaster" Al Ackerman's information could itself be considered a kind of vandalism.

Thanks

Thanks for fighting that vandal. 64.149.158.94 (talk · contribs · count · api · block log) really seems to like me... In particular, he previously edited under 64.13.35.113 (talk · contribs · count · api · block log) and was blocked for up to a month, also for vandalizing my userpage. Just FYI. He first vandalized my userpage because he made crystal-ball-ish edits to GT Athletics-related pages (i.e., Chan Gailey) that I promptly reverted. He turned out to be wrong, too. —Disavian (talk/contribs) 18:45, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seven Wonders of the World and sock puppets

[edit]

As the most recent admin to edit the Seven Wonders of the World article, I was hoping you could give me some guidance on a situation I just unearthed. While going through my watchlist this morning, I noticed an apparent pattern of unusually rapid and very focused edits by a small set of users to several articles, especially Seven Wonders of the World. The editors are as follows:

87.17.210.177 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)
Alexlot (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)
Camelot31 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)
Alanmk (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)

After reviewing their contributions, all appear to be single purpose accounts and/or sock puppets with a modus operandi of removing [1] [2] [3] [4] and/or replacing legitimate links [5] with links to the http://www.alinti.it website [6] [7] [8] [9].

While the user(s) in question seem to have violated the wikipedia guidelines on link spam and good faith, at first blush this issue appears to be significantly less disruptive and malicious than our standard, run-of-the-mill sock puppets. I went ahead and reverted the most egregious edits where existing links were replaced (Seven Wonders of the World and New Seven Wonders of the World), however I did not revert any of their changes to other articles. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do, or should I just report this possible sock puppet issue to WP:ANI and let the admin community handle it? Thanks, --Kralizec! (talk) 15:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good am, I really want the promo LH pic ( the 1 w/ the brown background LH is smiling with her hands reaching upward & LH is wearing a burgandy tank ) to stay here in wiki world. But now the image info page has changed so I'm unable to see who added the pic. So what do I do? I read & read but I am still confused as to how to verify the pic. This "lauryn_hill.jpg" is a promo pic. It was distributed/published everyhwere in 98 4 promo for LH's album. I remember it was all over the sam goody store. So i dont think it is infringing on n e 1 or sony/columbia/lh. Please help. Thx. _Lilkunta 10:15, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me understand this vandalism process

[edit]

Hello. Can you help me understand how you handled the recent vandalism to Seven Wonders of the World by 198.108.177.67 (talk · contribs)? As best I can understand, here is the timeline of events:

  • 11:32 - the IP address made an edit [10]
  • 11:35 - another vandalism edit [11]
  • 11:36 - several things happened during this 60 second span:
    • the user removed [12] part of their vandalism
    • you reverted all their edits [13]
    • the user added different vandalism [14]
  • 11:37 - you issued a {{uw-vandalism4}} warning [15] and re-reverted [16]
  • 11:38 - you blocked [17] the user

Here are the parts I need help understanding:

  • It looks like a level-4 warning was issued 35 days after this IP received [18] a {{uw-vandalism3}}. This seems like a really long time to issue an escalated warning, especially when the IP address is shared and non-vandalism edits [19] appear to have been made in the interim.
  • WP:AIV indicates the user must have "vandalized after a recent last warning" however I cannot find where the user made any edits between your warning and the block.

Please note that I am not crying foul or bitching about process; I legitimately do not understand what has happened and want to make sure I am following the correct procedure when I revert vandalism. Thank you for your time and vandal-fighting expertise. --Kralizec! (talk) 17:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

what do you not see relevant about the article it is a company that is becomeing an industry leader in the paintball arena72.192.79.132 16:24, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and use your judgment. If you think the article is appropriate, remove the speedy-del tag and if necessary, it will be take to a proper AfD.- Gilliam 16:52, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi... I was just wondering why exactly you deleted the page I created on SDD Global Solutions? I am new to Wikipedia and am trying to figure it all out. When I received the deletion notice I asked for a hangon and removed any details that could even faintly be construed as advertorial. I left it very brief and factual. I have been doing some searching and came across a page on Wiki called "Evalueserve" a company similar to SDD but not half as interesting. It's just a faceless big city company. SDD has got quite a lot of character and is in a small town doing really interesting work. Could you please help me to understand? Would be very grateful. Thank you.
