Hmm...[edit]

This might help with the investigation. Wd3000 says he lives in Barenberg. I don't know which state or country that's in, but wherever it is, he lives there.--Gp75motorsports 10:35, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I remember hearing that User:RickK lives somewhere in Southern California or San Francisco Bay Area. --Goodshoped35110s 02:39, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I did welcome that user, but I don't know anything more about him or her. Sorry I can't be of more help... — Ksero 12:02, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK, because I've been hearing rumors from the user above. I don't think these two users are connected anyway, if they are, then it would be exciting. --Goodshoped35110s 02:41, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About RickK and wd[edit]

I verified this by going to his contribs page and clicking "Show edits of new accounts only". I hope this is good enough; it still may need some deeper verification first.--Gp75motorsports 16:30, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Goodshoped :) The Signpost comes out weekly, and I saw that you signed up for it after its most recent issue. So, you signed up a bit too late to get the last issue, but you will get the next issue (October 22). Happy editing, ( arky ) 20:52, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to WUA[edit]

Greetings friend, I am Greenwood1010 one of the co-founders of the WUA and former 1st Vice-Chairman, 2nd Chairman and 4th Vice-Chairman. Of course we did away with those silly postions. Any how welcome to the WUA great to have you. I have added your name to the list of offical members. Also if you want to speak with other members check out User: King of Nepal, he is the one who came up with the whole idea. --Greenwood1010 22:26, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And the debate...[edit]

In case you haven't heard, there's a debate going on as to the merger of the CVU and the WUA (meaning the CVU moves us into their namespace to avoid our deletion). I need some backup on it. I was hoping you'd be willing to help? Best and thanks, --Gp75motorsports 01:26, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on it. What do you want me to do? E me on that. -Goodshop 01:31, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What I want you to do[edit]

I want you to just tell them the things that stand out about this project compared to others. Apparently they think it's redundant. Best and thanks, --Gp75motorsports 01:36, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yeah, I find it unwise to broadcast rumors, especially unconfirmed ones. You might only end up creating unnecessary drama. --71.141.117.207 02:29, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK. And that's true. I created those redirects because your old sig still existed on the other talkpages, so I took the liberty of redirecting them. If you want me to nominate them for deletion, OK. And besides, they know RickK isn't back. -Goodshop 02:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - a stub template or category which you created has been nominated for deletion or renaming at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type, which was not proposed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, does not meet the standard requirements for a stub type, either through being incorrectly named, ambiguously scoped, or through failure to meet standards relating to the current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:59, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, and I already placed a {{hangon}} template on the page. Cheers! -Goodshop 01:01, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don Imus/ Accusations of Defamatory speech[edit]

"So if he did? They already mention it in the article.. "

But the description of those "politically incorrect remarks" suggests that all the comments listed were made on-air in a shock jock manner, which is not the case. I was simply clarifying that point because it's misleading as it is now. The information I added was accurate and should not be removed.JacksonBR 05:31, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake, but we've gotten quite a bit of vandalism on the page, including this several days ago. -Goodshoped 04:19, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Qubo Article[edit]

http://qubo.com/channel/ This is where I got this source from and the line-ups. They started changing this line-up since Monday, December 3, 2007. I started using Wikipedia a few months ago and I do not know how to cite my sources using codes like this: [1]. This is not a 4 hour show anymore, now it expanded to 6 hours of their favorite television show. Miss BG is a new show on 24/7 Digital Network that came out this week. I know you did not believe me with the changes that I made, it is just that one person who edited it deleted my source because it was a repeat of the source that person had already pasted on the website.

They added:

Postman Pat Babar Miss BG and Jacob Two-Two to the 24/7 Digital Network.

The lineup has been changed.

I apologized for not citing where I got the information from. I am new with this and I have not have a chance to learn how people cited their source. The NBC Qubo schedule stays the same. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cbears22 (talkcontribs) 18:33, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PWH[edit]

I appreciate the thought, but ArbCom isn't the right place to address the PWH vandal. A bunch of us have been trying to address the vandal. WP:SSP is the correct place for issues like this. Dreadstar 04:43, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll try to file a report. And the Long-term abuse page is up, if you're interested. -Goodshoped 04:45, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there's a need for a report. The socks have been confirmed and it's a battle that many admins are working on. Dreadstar 04:50, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So...? -Goodshoped 05:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First, read through WP:DENY and WP:DFTT. The ANI report is intersting, since all the socks have been banned. How to stop from creating more socks. Do you have a WP:CHECKUSER in? I sent you an email too. Dreadstar 05:09, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We did a checkuser. We got the IPs blocked. He still comes back. -Goodshoped 05:12, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So how are you going to ban him? Dreadstar 05:13, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's nothing else we can do, besides keep blocking him. The LTA report is fine (though not on its own page), but obviously ArbCom is an incorrect move. LTA will alert other editors that he's a problem user, and we can let them know to revert and block on sight. Don't freak out about this, okay? GlassCobra 05:16, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(undent)OK. I'll go look for him right now... (hands GlassCobra and Dreadstar a semi-automatic rifle) -Goodshoped 05:20, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Herman[edit]

Hi, there's an ANI topic you may want to comment on. I proposed to ban the Herman vandal. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 05:01, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Jetlover, and if you're an admin, and if you see him again, BLOCK HIM ON SIGHT! -Goodshoped 05:02, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not an admin, but I'll go to AIV if I see him. I also nominated the LTA page for deletion, see Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Long term abuse/PWeeHurman. Feel free to comment. Thanks. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 05:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I just commented there. -Goodshoped 05:14, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And you can also take the name to UAA. -Goodshoped 05:14, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't do that. UAA is for blatant violations of WP:U. AIV is the place to report sockpuppets of banned users. EVula // talk // // 05:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(undent) Well, the reason why I mentioned UAA is because it's similar to PWee's username. (hands all users on talk page a semi-automatic rifle) Anyway, I'm off hunting for him. -Goodshoped 05:29, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wish you'd quit saying that. We don't need any semi-automatic rifles to deal with a simple vandal who needs attention. It's kind of a weird thing to say, especially after the mall shootings today. --Bongwarrior (talk) 06:01, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I offended you or anything, but it's just a figure of speech. -Goodshoped 06:03, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is it, right? -Goodshoped 06:04, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's it. You didn't offend me really, although I don't like guns. But it's probably not a good figure of speech to use around here under the best of circumstances, and especially not now. --Bongwarrior (talk) 06:18, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Alright. I'm off. I think it's best to protect the pages just in case if the vandals come up again. (Man, I need a bot for this) -Goodshoped 06:18, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the protection policy – we don't protect pre-emptively. If vandalism occurs, revert, block and ignore (as you've been told many times lately) and if it gets too hectic, you know where to go. Spebi 06:20, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
UAA would still be an inappropriate place to report names that are close to PWeeHurman‎; the editor named himself off of a pre-existing character, so similarities wouldn't be blocked based on the similarity to the user, necessarily. Long story short: don't report socks to UAA, and don't try to side-step blocking users by nailing them on a technicality.
As for the semi-automatic rifles, why use guns when knives are so much cooler? ;) EVula // talk // // 06:36, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UT:GS3[edit]

Please don't create these nor link to them. Firstly, there's a long-standing consensus against them, and secondly "UT" isn't a psuedo-namespace so technically it's an "article" and hence is deleted as a crossnamespace redirect. Daniel 07:53, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks! -Goodshoped 01:20, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just so we're clear...[edit]

You may not place meatpuppet or sockpuppet tags on established editors' pages without concrete, substantial evidence that they abusing multiple accounts. You are grating on the community's last nerve. GlassCobra 03:15, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Ok. Thanks. -Goodshoped 03:18, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have to ask: what made you think that this edit was a good idea?[1] Your edit history, as I've mentioned before, is extremely troublesome, and the very idea that you find it acceptable to tag an established user's page with a sockpuppet tag without any evidence to back it up is utterly extraordinary. EVula // talk // // 04:27, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know about my edit history, but that is not going to be solved anytime soon if I keep getting messages...*whoof* -Goodshoped 04:33, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I assure you that I am not a sock of that user. If you still disagree, you can make a request for checkuser. But I'm leaving anyway, which was why I blanked my talk page; I do have a life outside of Wikipedia, and I'm requesting protection of my user and talk page, so I don't think there is any point in this suspected sockpuppet investigation.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 04:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, you're leaving? Don't, man! Look, I apologize for putting the sock on that page, I got so worked up on that threat above GlassCobra's post, man! Don't leave! We need you! (Oh, great.) -Goodshoped 04:05, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry; my leaving has nothing to do with your post. As I said on Redux's talk page, I just don't want to have to worry about new messages, and I've been spending too much time on Wikipedia already. I don't want to worry about my account at all. There's no need to apolgize. And thank you for your kind words. I orginally left in September, but after that I realized that there were a few matters that haven't been resloved. I'm now leaving for good, but not related to conflicts or stress. Thanks for explaining the sockpuppet post.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 04:18, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, me too. But there have already been two attempts of me to leave Wikipedia, but I stayed because I would like to continue contributing here, and that dealing with vandals is somehow "fun". But if you have stress, take a WikiBreak! Relax for a few months or weeks, then come back when you are ready. Best, -Goodshoped 04:21, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I too desperately need a WikiBreak. Wikipedia has eaten up my time for homework. Marlith T/C 04:25, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really have much homework, but I like using Wikipedia to fight the vandals and to improve the encyclopedia. -Goodshoped 04:27, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalisim[edit]

That was not vandalisim. It was just a normal user having questions about my reversion, and he placed it on the wrong page. Marlith T/C 04:13, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, OK. Apparently, I used the wrong rollback button. But anyway, I gave him a warning and asked him to put it on the talk. Sorry if it was an inconvenience. -Goodshoped 04:15, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice[edit]

I've attempted before to catch your attention and ask that you change you behavior, for which I've seen very little in the way of positive contributions to the project. Your edit that tagged a respected editor as a sockpuppet[2] is out of order to a magnitude that words simply cannot express.

You have 48 hours to read over Wikipedia's various policies and to investigate the myriad methods to become a successful, constructive contributor; please use that time wisely. EVula // talk // // 04:44, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know. You've blocked me when I was editing this article, I was adding some refs. I do not intend to request being unblocked and wish to serve my term; however I feel that I need a rest from Wikipedia. -Goodshoped 04:47, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AN/I-FBI[edit]

Jimbo Wales has made it clear on several occasions that threats like that, even if they do turn out to be jokes, should be taken seriously. For one thing, life may be at risk, and for another, they are crimes here just as much as in real life. As to pretending to be FBI, I didn't suggest that; what I would normally do is email the Foundation and ask them to contact the local police, having checked out the IP address. --Rodhullandemu (please reply here - contribs) 05:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
