Overview Googly75[edit]

I used to edit on Wiki a few years ago but for the life of me can't remember my passwords. Particularly interested in general Cricket articles and the intricacies and history of the game. Nasser Hussain and Graham Gooch are pages i want to enhance, modern players seem to have dedicated editors, the older and sometimes better players do not.

I also feel there needs to be certain anglophilication to Wikipedia - for example do we really need to refer back to baseball when we talk about cricket and it's types of play? This applies to other sections of Wikipedia, a source for the whole world, not just the views of America.

caps in bulleted lists[edit]

Hi, usually not, if it's a single sentence. Sorry to revert. If you disagree, please let me know. Tony (talk) 13:39, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tony - it was to make it conform with the whole of the article. All bullets that come after a : (colon) list in this article are capitalised, except the section i changed - this is for consistency, take a look Googly75 (talk) 14:28, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've also found some instances in which you have closely paraphrased sources so that their copyrights have been infringed. Make sure to avoid this, as it is illegal. NTox · talk 00:45, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What a fucking prick. Googly75 (talk) 18:24, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Googly, my intention was not to come off as rude and disrespectful - I feel bad that this has happened. Except for the last sentence, I was simply using a templated message that we send to all editors as a matter of course, when we find copyright violations. I did not type that message myself. Wikipedia, as you no doubt are aware, has quite a problem with copyright issues, which hurts our credibility. For that reason, our community has decided to be quite strict about the issue, even when those involved are experienced editors. Perhaps our templated message is too harsh; I will consider bringing that point up on a discussion page. The message was not intended to bely the good contributions you have made to that page - I saw many of them myself as I was checking the page and was impressed with your work. Again, I feel bad about this, and want to emphasize that I was simply placing a standard warning template. I will remember this - perhaps it will be better to write personalized messages instead, when these issues arise in the future. NTox · talk 19:46, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
