persian name Template

[edit]

Looks complicated. But we can try anyway.

The Korean template has 4 different scripts listed for the template. Those are:

  • Hangul
  • Hanja
  • Revised Romanization
  • McCune-Reischauer

What should we have? For example:

  • Persian
  • Penglish

I dont know. What do u think?--Zereshk 21:41, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I`m building the {{farsi}} now. then I buid the hebrew, and penglish and other. for example moosaa is موسی and "mushe" &... els. whats your choice?--Gordafarid 21:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the penglish is extra addition that never needed, what u think?!--Gordafarid 21:51, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What if a word does not have a Hebrew or Pahlavi equivalent? And what about Azari and Kurdish,..? Should they be included?--Zereshk 23:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ok, first choice must be english, if doesn`t have mean in english, then we write pinglish of it, like my name! no, I confused, we have english name in top of the templates. we must use the other languages. azeri and kurdish is also good. I have private sandbox in my page under my work table, use it for do changes on the tamplate.--Gordafarid 23:51, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see now we need to have "Category:Articles needing persian script or text" for biuld the tamplate. please build that category. --Gordafarid 00:00, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your sandbox. We already have a Persian template here. Have you seen it?--Zereshk 16:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zereshk made a good comment. Doesn't that template fit your need. If yes, you can make this new one a redirect to the existing one. hujiTALK 16:44, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see that, but that`s only the template for nastealigh type of farsi words. though my proposal is the template that we use it for all the persian name in en.wiki like this User:Visviva. we have some articles about farsi names and we can use this template for that names or others. what`s your opinion?!--Gordafarid 23:50, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

guide

[edit]

Salam. Thanks for your favors. As you may see on my talk page at present I'm rather inactive. You can use these templates:[1]. You can help Iranians by watching what has mentioned in Wikipedia:Iranian Wikipedians' notice board and updating it. Also we will be grateful if you update Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Iran. This is a boring task. You should watch WP:AfD everyday and add related entries. This is a good example of such pages:[[2]]. Thanks again.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 02:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thank you sir vakilian, I see them and asked u if I have any problem. regards,--Gordafarid 06:54, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template

[edit]

What is the template you need my help with? hujiTALK 07:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

persian name teplate, like the {{koreanname}} that exist! for more information, see my private sandbox in my userpage under the work table. thanks a lot for your help dear hojjat.--Gordafarid 09:10, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All right, you need to show me where the problem is. Start by copying Koreanname to Persianname, then give an example of where it breaks, on your sandbox. hujiTALK 12:16, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ok, I have had discussion with zereshk on 20 line uper than this line, read them. I replace hunja with farsi in the template but I think we must build a catagory that also use into this template. I havn`t any knowledge in template biulding and u must hardly help me to do it. now it doesn,t work and don`t know where is break?! sorry!--Gordafarid 12:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in Gordafarid/toolbox

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Gordafarid/toolbox, by SkierRMH (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Gordafarid/toolbox is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Gordafarid/toolbox, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Gordafarid/toolbox itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 01:10, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your message!

[edit]

Hello Dear Gordafarid!

I've read your message in Hujat's discussion page, regarding the brain drain in fa.wikipedia and in Iran (in a wider picture!) and your wish to post that comment at admin`s notice board in fa.wikipedia.

But actually since it could be little confusing to translate your words precisely into Persian, and it could create some misunderstandings, I am recommending you, to consider writting your comment in Persian and either leave it here or in my discussion page, and I will post that at admin`s notice board in fa.wikipedi.

Best Regards --Kaaveh 23:58, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ok, thanks for your alarm. I didn`t khnow that. be happy.--Gordafarid 07:56, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That would probably be a good idea. I took German in 7th and 8th grade, but haven't studied it since then. But from what I remember, would it be called "Children and Youth Athletic School"? Correct me if I'm wrong. I can go ahead and make the change if you want. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 09:43, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

unfortunatlly my deutch is so bad! but I think your suggested name is correct. I see the [[Category:Schools in Germany]] category, the name doesn`t translated in that. in your opinion what we can do?!--Gordafarid 09:53, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest looking at WP:Translation. Perhaps you can just use the german page and get it translated, that way you don't have to write a full article on the subject. I haven't worked with Wikipeda tranlations at all yet and am not familar with how the process works, but I'm sure that page can explain everything you need to know. --Pilotboi / talk / contribs 10:01, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

monobook

[edit]

Hello Gordafarid, you should also add the general Twinkle files to your monobook, as that part you copied is useless alone. You can copy the lines form my monobook, beginning with importScript('User:AzaToth/morebits.js'); , including the TwinkleConfig till };. That will work as expected. --Oxymoron83 23:21, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

a lot of thanks dear! both for writing that script and for this guidance. be happy.--Gordafarid 23:26, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Red Dwarf Remastered

[edit]

Hi there. Just to let you know, your recent edit to Red Dwarf Remastered, which involved reverting an edit by an anonymous user, actually restored some vandalism that is being repeatedly carried out to the article by the same person (sadly operating under different IP addresses, so they can't be banned). I'd imagine this was done in good faith, as it would have shown up in edit summary as the removal of 1,000+ characters of content by an anon, but in this case that extra content was actually deliberately-added rubbish and inaccuracy. Just thought I'd let you know, so that you know why it's been reverted. Seb Patrick 09:35, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hi. I make mistake at that edition. apologize for it and thank you for reverting. --Gordafarid 06:46, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definite and indefinite articles

[edit]

Hi - I've noticed that in several of your recent edits, you've removed definite and indefinite articles (the and a) from the opening sentences of the articles you've edited. I also note that you list yourself as a level 3, rather than native or near native speaker of English. I'll point out that most nouns (proper names being the most notable exception) should have either a definite or indefinite article when used in sentences like those you've edited. I've reverted the A-6 Intruder article, since it's one I look after, but would appreciate it if you could go back and revert the other articles you recently edited, since you've got a better idea of which ones you made this sort of edit to, and I'd have to go through all your edits one by one. Thanks! CruiserBob 22:36, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ok, but I remember that read in the one of the wiki guidance that we must start the article with the fresh name of article. if it`s corect we must delete all difintion words in first parageraph of articles. if u know it better than me do it, but if not ask from an knowdeler wikipedian. thanks for your attention, be happy.--Gordafarid 13:39, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you can point me at a specific page that says specifically that the words 'a', 'an' or 'the' should not occur before the name of the article in the first sentence of the article (or even that strongly implies that they shouldn't), I'm willing to go with that. But given that today's featured article Siege of Malakand, as well as other recent featured articles (Cardinal-nephew, Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts of America) and 2000 Sri Lanka cyclone among them) all use 'a', 'an' or 'the' in the location we're discussing, I'm thinking that you're unlikely to find guidance that supports your position. Merging a name article and a disambiguation page would be controversial because they serve different purposes. There is no discussion on the talk pages linked by the templates. Are you really in the process of merging like the used template {{merging}} says? A merger might be reverted if it's done without discussion. If you want them merged then I really think you should propose it first with {{mergeto}} and {{mergefrom}}, and wait to see if there is consensus. See Help:Merging and moving pages if you haven't already. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:55, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Breathing Dead

[edit]

That was over two years ago. They were blocked for disruption. They also threatened to launch a herd of IP sock puppets on the project (and going by the sock template on their user page), seem to have tried. Even so, two years is a long time on the Internet and the WP:Standard offer may be open to them. Truth be told, if they were to come back and edit quietly under a new username, few if any editors would be likely to care about the bygone (though if they brought about disruption again, given the background and sockpuppetry, they could be sitebanned instead of only blocked). Breathing Dead block

[edit]

Can't say I remember this too well, I don't know much beyond what is reflected in the block log, which is that they were blocked for disruptive editing. My only involvement was in reducing the block to allow them to appeal it on their talk page, which they have not done in the intervening 22 months, so I'm a bit curious why this is coming back up now. You might want to ask Gwen Gale (talk · contribs) as she issued the original block. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:16, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was asked, see above. Gwen Gale (talk) 00:20, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conflict (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on Sean Birchall requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
