Not sure why you are having a hard time getting a hold of me. Clicking "Talk" after in my signature takes you to me Talk Page and you simply create a New Section.
You have some real challenges with your article. The first is WP:COI, as you have clearly stated that there is a relationship between you and the subject. Read the article at the link and resolve.
Given the formatting and style, it would appear that you haven't looked at any of the other articles on authors on Wikipedia. There are no references provided, that is a key item for any biography and critical for any biography of a living person. The links I provided can help a lot.
Side note: The Subject is in Michigan, so perhaps you are as well. I am near 15 and Lahser. Perhaps coffee at some location and we could work on it, partially eliminating the COI issue. The Ukulele Dude - Aggie80 (talk) 23:07, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
I am user:GreenLips
Where did my article on Bill Haney go?
Should I start over with a new user name?
Should I rename the user:BillHaney?
GreenLips (talk) 12:51, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Where did my article on Bill Haney go to? I successfully scanned and uploaded an reference and I got a message that I do not understand— User:GreenLips is not a user that Wiki recognizes....or something like that.

- Hello. It seems your draft, which was in your sandbox, was deleted under a speedy deletion criteria. Considering the article was in your sandbox, this seems highly unusual, and I suspect this may have been a mishap by the administrator who deleted the article. I have changed your help request to an administrator help request, as they may be able to restore the article for you, assuming that everything was in order. I'll notify the administrator in question and ask him to leave you a note. I'll leave it in his hands now, and closing the help request in the meantime. ~ | twsx | talkcont | ~ 13:57, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
This is the exact message I got. I went to edit my article this morning and it was gone with this message below. So, I put it all back in and even uploaded a reference. This is twice the article disappeared with this message:
Wikipedia does not have a user page with this exact title. In general, this page should be created and edited by User:GreenLips. To start a page called User:GreenLips, type in the box below. When you are done, preview the page to check for errors and then save it.

- I have moved the draft that was on your user page to your sandbox, and I have answered your question at the Help Desk.--ukexpat (talk) 15:55, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Shared accounts
[edit]Please note that it is not permitted for accounts to be shared by more than one person. You and your wife must operate separate accounts. My apologies if you are already doing this, but your post to the help desk and the account name lead me to believe that this is a shared account. Please explain here the true situation to avoid the account being blocked. SpinningSpark 18:35, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Spinningspark. Thanks for yours. Greenlips is my account, however, my wife is a graphic artist and helped me figure out the formatting issues. It's one account, one user - me. My wife helps me with the stuff she's good at. She's not posting or editing, only trying to help me understand some of the lingo used by Wiki. Thanks.GreenLips (talk)

You seem to be having a rotten time
[edit]Wikipedia can be a weird place, and, sometimes, everything goes wrong for a new editor. That is wrong, the more so when you are trying to get things right.
Wikipedia:Mentorship may be your saving grace since you are obvious;y running into brick walls with the article you are striving to create. Having someone form that programme guide you through WP:AFC may solve the issues for you. Fiddle Faddle 20:21, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Just in case you have been unable to find it, User:GreenLips/Sandbox seems to have the full text of your article. I think you feared it was lost. It appears that it is not. The ony thing I see to be required (at first glance) is referencing. If you read WP:REFB you may find all you need. You might find User:Timtrent/A good article useful, too. I haven't the time to mentor you, but I'll be happy to answer questions when I can. Fiddle Faddle 20:33, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- I see it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:GreenLips/Sandbox Bed for me now. Past Midnight. Good luck. No links, I fear. Try the history tab. We'll 'talk' tomorrow. Wikipedia keeps everything. We'll find it. Fiddle Faddle 23:20, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Now I understand. Look at User:GreenLips/Sandbox where your article is. Now look at User:GreenLips/sandbox where it is not. Notice the difference is the capital S in one and lower case s in the other. No wonder you are confused. Wikipedia is case sensitive! It took me a while to see why you could not find it. Do check each, please. This is a tough place to work, ain't it? I've added the big grey box at the head of the REAL draft article so you can submit it with ease when you are ready. Phew! THat was all tough! Especially at midnight!! Fiddle Faddle 23:12, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
Timtrent aka Fiddle Faddle subject; Bill Haney Okay, thanks for the hint not to use terms like "very worthy man" or "truly deserves it" Frankly, I can't imagine someone jumping thru all these tight hoops trying to put information up about someone unless they admire the person, and/or their contributions to society. That said I'll try and be dryer. Sleep well. GreenLips (talk) 00:09, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- It was not I who said that. I would simply have said that paeans of praise need to go. We have to write a neutral and factual article. It would be the same had you heaped condemnation upon him.
- THe article is not at the location the section heading says, you know. It is, however, where I link to it above. Fiddle Faddle 07:32, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Unsure of where I am supposed to ask my question. I am trying to put inline citations or footnotes in the Bill Haney article. When I code using <ref> then type the periodical, date, page, title, author and close with <ref>, I thought that is how footnotes or references are added. I wanted to style the reference list using
but when I use this mark-up and view my changes, everything disappears after the <ref> coding.

- Hello. You need to add a </ref> tag to terminate the <ref> tag. Otherwise it will break the rest the code (Like what happened to this talk page). Zhaofeng Li [talk... contribs...] 12:47, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

My second footnote is a duplicate of the first footnote. Am I missing a tag?
