I noticed that you voted early on this, and wanted to let you know that the article has substantially grown (and will likely grow further) into a useful list of evidence for the Moon landings that has nothing to do with hoax sites. I'd like to invite you to take another look, and to consider changing your vote. Gravitor 19:56, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo german presidency.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo german presidency.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is just to let you know that there is a merge proposal being considered at Independent evidence for Apollo Moon landings. Given that you participated in the AfD debate about this article, you might be interested in leaving your opinion concerning this merge on the talk page. Summaries

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 22:57, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CSTS

[edit]

Hello, Hektor. It appears that you copied and pasted ACTS to CSTS. Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself using the move link at the top of the page, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Hi Hektor

I would like to know why you reverted my edit. There are good reasons to assume that my edit was correct. I am currently expanding the German article on the 1968 winter olympics to FA status. In all my sources - including the official report - it says that the opening ceremony took place in a temporary structure that was dismantled after the end of the games. It was certainly not the Stade Lesdiguières. --Voyager 20:51, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for sorting that out. As you can see, I did some editing to that page and forgot to put that sentence back in. Apologies.

List of Olympic medalists in disabled skiing

[edit]

Please consider merging List of Olympic medalists in disabled skiing into Disabled skiing at the Winter Olympics. These were demonstration events only, so it is extremely misleading to have a "list of medalists" article as per all full-medal sports. We do not include any other demonstration "medalists" in that series of lists. Thanks, Andrwsc 21:09, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indian human spaceflight program article - why it had been moved.

[edit]

An entire article based on pure speculation is a rare example. It would better served as a sub-section ISRO main article.

  • NASA and Roscosmos, despite their unprecedented success, have human spaceflight summary within the main article section
  • Indian manned space programme (as of 12.02.07) is purely based on speculation
  • A manned spacecraft design programme is yet to announed
  • The article "Indian human spaceflight program" appears more as a hopeful idea, rather than factual page
  • The SCRE is a broadly general spacecraft recovery programme and is no concrete indication of a future spacecraft (i.e. - it could very well be incorporated into an unmanned recoverable sapcecraft, such as the Russian Parom.
  • Thus, the Indian human spaceflight programme piece will be best served under the ISRO relevant sub-section

So far the general feedback has been to merge the piece into ISRO (see Question of crewed missions) until a concreate manned space programme announcement is made by the Indian govt. Its not very good practice for an encyclopedic editor to force his/her personal opinion upon broader agreement which has already been made (see Talk:Indian Space Research Organisation).

Thus, the previous agreement should stand. Please open a new discussion to discuss restoration of the previous article if you still feel strongly about this. But please do not force your own decision on this issue.

Many thanks -- Ash sul 22:34, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Quote from one of the sources : "The Centre approval to India's manned mission to space finds expression in the Union Budget.

The Indian Space Research Organisation's "pre-project initiatives" to propel an Indian into space have been sanctioned Rs 50 crore for 2007-08.

Top ISRO sources said the flight is likely to be in 2015, followed by an Indian stepping on the Moon in 2020. An orbiter to Mars in 2014 is also among the ISRO's initiatives during the 11th five-year plan."

Rs 50 crore is more than the budget currently dedicated by ESA to Crew Space Transportation System and however this one has his own article. Hektor 05:39, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your post on my talk page, I am opposing the merger as I think it does warrant a seperate article - afterall, we have an article on Tier Two. This is just as speculative, if not more so. We have plenty of cites for the article, so I am happy to leave it be. Hope this helps. --GW_SimulationsUser Page | Talk 19:50, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Hektor. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Toutes les simca.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:Hektor/Archive 2. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 10:14, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I had heard of Félix Eboué and Gaston Monnerville, I did a check on the French wikipedia, to be sure, but it doesn't say either of them had a key ministerial position. I'll change it back to saying she is the first from an ethnic minority, and a reference to the article on BBC news supporting this. Please let me know if I'm mistaken. I just thought it was an interesting fact, I was only trying to improve. If you disagree still, please don't block me, just change the article back and I will leave it alone, I didn't mean to upset anyone. Thanks. Jackaranga 16:37, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Silvia Monti, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Camille Gottlieb

[edit]

Please do not restart this article. It's not sourced and it attaches a "biography" consisting of an allegation of illegitimacy to a nine-year-old child. FCYTravis 08:14, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • That is your opinion. I thought that deletion was on the basis of notability and not of content. If you want to have it deleted, please organise an Afd. Personnally I think if their are articles about the hundred various kinds of Pokemons, there can be an article about one of the main members of a European Princely family. Regards.Hektor 08:16, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Speculation on the parentage of a child is a clear violation of WP:BLP. FCYTravis 08:19, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Absolutely not since it can be sourced. The birth of the child is sourced on the Palace web site. Here. The palace web site provides the last name Gottlieb although the princess has never been married to this man afaik. I am sure that I can find reliable sources about the fact that she is born out of wedlock. I have the strong impression the way you deleted this article is irregular. Please reestablish it and put an Afd. This way we can have a real discussion. Hektor 08:22, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Whether or not it can be sourced is irrelevant. If there is nothing more to say about someone than that they might have been born out of wedlock, that's not a biography, that's a tabloid entry. FCYTravis 08:23, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
        • Now it does not matter ? Please reconsider. I am not asking to recreate unconditionnally the article, I am asking for an Afd. I think this is a really reasonable request. I just want a discussion, not a deletion like that, on a whim. Hektor 08:26, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
          • Please, think about this for a moment. Why do you need a separate article on a nine-year-old girl just to repeat to the whole world that she might be born out of wedlock in some celebrity scandal? Do you have a shred of human decency in you to think about the fact that Camille did not choose to become part of a tossed-up family? What else can be written about her? Nothing? Then there's no biography to write, is there? If you insist, I'll undelete and AfD, but do you really think you can write a biography of her that contains more than "she might be out of wedlock and she's been the subject of tabloid speculation?" • Camille Gottlieb is now a redirect to Princess Stephanie. It's not protected, so if you ever think you can write more than "some tabloids said X," you're free to do so. FCYTravis 09:09, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kicking and Screaming (1995 film) poster.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Pixar's UP

[edit]

Thank you for your Pixar edits regarding UP. Unfortunately, we've been waiting for a 3rd party source (preferably Disney/Pixar themselves) to confirm this information before we include it in a factual encyclopedia article here in WP. Currently, the only reference to it is one sentence on ComingSoon, and a crapload of blog posts all referencing that sentence. Please see WP:CITE for what consitutes a proper citation for Wikipedia (blogs and self-published websites that do not provide their sources do not qualify), and remember that WP:NOT a crystal ball or a fan site -- we may know that something is going to happen based on rumors or conversations we have with Disney/Pixar staff, but until we have outside confirmation on this from reliable sources that can be cross-referenced and documented, we need to remove that information from Wikipedia. We appreciate your cooperation. SpikeJones 21:19, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Astrium space tourism.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Astrium space tourism.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:23, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
