Hello Hewsonshane. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Google+ vs. Facebook".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Google+ vs. Facebook}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 19:13, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your articles[edit]

Hi Hewsonshane: I see you've tried to write us a number of articles but they have not been accepted. Thank you; we need new articles, there is still a lot left to write about. But it looks to me as if you are not clear on what kind of articles an encyclopedia needs. The basic requirements are summed up (with links to fuller explanations) on this page. There's also a long list of examples of the kinds of things we don't normally include, here. The essentials are: the topic needs to be "notable" (either written about in lots of books and newspapers, or obviously something an encyclopedia should include, like a country, an ocean, or a historical person), and it needs to be presented neutrally, with references to sources, so that readers can get the essentials from the article and go looking for more info if they wish. That means we don't include essays, like on why Americans should visit Ireland, and if we include an article on Google vs. Facebook, it should be about what others have said on the topic, something like Google-Facebook Rivalry, with references to several articles in newspapers and business magazines and on tech blogs that are mostly or entirely about the rivalry. If you want to write your own opinions, I'm afraid this isn't the place (This section of the second page I linked to). For the Ireland topic, have a look at Wikivoyage (homepage here); they want detailed articles about each place, but you may find it interesting to add things about places you know. As a general rule: you need references in your articles for them to be accepted here. If you cannot think of a useful reference, that means there is a problem with the topic. Virtual military training might be a good topic; did your draft have any references? Perhaps have a look at some of our existing articles (for example, History of Google), and at what kinds of references are used? Some articles badly need more references; you could look for some and add them as practice.

You've been around for a while, but I don't see that anyone has pointed you to the Teahouse, a friendly space for new editors to ask questions and get help; the people working there are good at explaining things. You can also contact me on my talk page, User talk:Yngvadottir, and I'll do my best to help.

I hope this advice and info is useful. Thanks again for joining us :-) Yngvadottir (talk) 19:06, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Hewsonshane. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Hesh 2 Wireless headphones, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ueutyi (talk) 01:41, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Visiting Ireland as a American and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Draft:Visiting Ireland as a American during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. North America1000 05:54, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
