I added Related articles with a link to White Hart Lane train station to the template, can you think of any other articles that might need adding? Govvy (talk) 11:24, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

@Govvy: Do you think Northumberland Park railway station or Seven Sisters station needs to be linked also? I'm not sure. Perhaps you can add Daniel Levy and ENIC Group or maybe Yid somewhere. There a lot of other tangential links to the club, but I'm not sure if they should be given. There are also articles still to be created, like the training grounds, but those can be added when they are created. Hzh (talk) 12:32, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
I don't think the other two stations have the same association to merit it. I am not sure about adding the chairman. Although has there ever been an article simply on the club chairmen? As for other articles, Tottenham have had a rivalry with West Ham which has intensified in the last decade, I was thinking that might also need an article. Regards Govvy (talk) 12:46, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
I think inclusion of the chairman/ownership is reasonable, Manchester United template includes Glazer ownership of Manchester United, Liverpool has a separate template for the board - Template:Liverpool F.C. Board. An article of rivalry with West Ham is warranted, although that is mostly on the part of West Ham fans since they haven't played against their traditional rival MillWall for some time. For most Tottenham fans it's way down in third in significance. Hzh (talk) 13:07, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Edit summaries

You hardly ever leave edit summaries. This is not helpful to other users. Do you have some reason to think you do not need to? Trople (talk) 07:27, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Yes, I should leave more edit summaries. This may be a bad habit from the pages I usually edit, where regular editors know one another and they basically trust that their edits are reliable. I, however, always check the edits of pages in my watchlist regardless of whether edit summaries are given or not because unreliable editors often leave edit summaries that have nothing to do with they wrote - edit summaries are therefore often misleading or meaningless, they are not something I put a much trust in (I don't expect other editors to leave edit summaries unless the edits are something they need to explain). I usually leave edit summaries when reverting or changing other people's edits so people know why their edits have been reverted or changed. But more edit summaries are helpful, in particular in new pages I edit, and I should do it more often. Hzh (talk) 13:46, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. A talk page discussion was started. Do not edit war, but try to make constructive cases to include duplicate etymology in the article by engaging in WP:CON. Zefr (talk) 21:18, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Quite extraordinary that you mangled a long-standing section without consensus making it meaningless to readers, then demand that others get consensus to restore it to the previous version that is actually meaningful. Hzh (talk) 08:59, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021

New Page Review queue September 2021

Hello Hzh,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
