Hey I created a page of my uncle Ansuman Mishra who is a public figure in India. I don't understand why this needs to be deleted ?

The article was deleted because it does not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. In addition, the quality of the images was poor and the quantity of images far too high. Finally, you have a serious conflict of interest with this subject, and thus should not write the article, as you did so with an extremely promotional tone. Don't worry, if your uncle is notable enough, someone else will create an article about him.

Nina Jo Schmale

The "subst:prod blp|reason" tag was placed in error. Nina Jo Schmale is a dead person. I removed the tag. There may be other reasons for deleting the article – her notability lies solely in being a murder victim. But I don't feel that I can make that call. • Hi Cmach7,
  First, you should sign a talk page otherwise no one can know who messaged him. It can be done easily by typing four tildes.
  As for your page of Hugh III of Maine, it's just a single line which does not show any notability of the topic. It does not even have any reliable independent third party references to show that the topic is notable. You should read WP:REFSTART, WP:REF and WP:IRS for referencing. These references should be verified by the criteria give in WP:VERIFY. Basically references are used to prove notability of a topic (seeWP:N). If you can give references for the topic and prove it's notability, no one can delete the article.
  Secondly you have just placed a single line. You should have written something on the topic. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and you are more then welcome to contribute here but you should abide by the policies outlined by Wikipedia. I am not accusing you of anything but if you are in the middle of expansion of the topic, you should do that in your user space and once the article is complete, then move it to the main space.--Inlandmamba _{(talk to me)} 20:28, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

I'll look at Jinnah today (I know the basics that anyone reasonably well informed about history knows), but I just read about five of your bio articles and I think two biggest problems you are having are tone, and understanding what the lede is for. The lede is a summary of the article, but it's also your opportunity to sell the reader that it is worth his time to scroll down and read the rest of the article. And that leads into the second issue, tone. Articles should be in a laid back, neutral tone, without necessarily being bland, and also, especially in the lede, you need to move briskly and not get bogged down. I was looking, for example, at The Last Dymaxion The lede is bogged down in a mass of detail about who said what and doesn't really give the reader the Big Picture. Look at an article like a pyramid. The first paragraph of the lede should be the capstone, almost an executive summary: Who this is and why the reader should care. The rest of the lede should be a summary of the ground you are going to cover in an article (often with some sort of hook on the end to get the reader to stay), and then what you set forth in the rest of the article is the "base" of the pyramid. Remember, if what is in the lede is sourced in the body of the article, the lede need not be sourced itself.--Wehwalt (talk) 15:32, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

Yeah I do realize that I often make that mistake. I'll try to cover it up and will let you know once it's taken care of. I was hoping to give Muhammad Ali Jinnah a try to get it to a FA status or a good article. So I would be needing your help. I have got a lot of published books by notable authors and main stream press publications for the facts and stuff although it already has a lot of references on the page. You can take a look at it(if you have some time) and let me know what I should work on to get it to the FA status.

OK, I've read it through once and started some notes in a sandbox. It's good, perhaps not quite at GA level but close enough. Some general comments:

As a practical matter, everything needs to be cited (except for the lede if the information is sourced in the body of the article). That's going to be needed for GA and FA, and I know that policy says only contentious points need to be cited. As a practical matter, GA and FA reviewers are going to insist on it.

I would not have a blockquote of more than eight lines without a very good reason. Jinnah's speech doesn't obviously look to me like such a case.

If you do a blockquote, you are telling the reader there's something of significance there. I do not understand why the blockquote about Pakistan in terms of the Lahore resolution

Some blockquotes are italicized and some are not. I would make them all non-italicized.

The first half of the article looks in much better shape than the second.

All citations should be in a consistent style.

Thanks for the guide. I'll start working on it. I am quite sure that JSTOR is going to have material on Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi as these two people had played significant roles in the history of sub-continent. Currently I have some published news papers (Dawn News) one of the leading news papers of Pakistan as references. Secondly, I have got approximately 57 published books by known authors written on the life of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, his history, his political career and on the contributions he made to make Pakistan a nation. I guess that would pile up to create a lot of references.

Wow. I doubt if I have even 20 on Nixon! If you send me an email with the URLs of the JSTOR articles, I'll send you copies. You can't send attachments through Wikipedia's email server, you see! You can search their site and view the first page of articles. On Jinnah, there is a lot of published material. I'll go to JSTOR website and search for whatever I can find on Jinnah and his work. I'll e-mail you the links and if they fulfill the criteria and seem fine, you can send me the articles. This way you'll have my e-mail address and can directly send me data up to 25mb without using Wikipedia's server.

Hi Wehwalt,
I saw some of your FA today and thought to copy the style of Nixon's pictures in the center. As you mentioned earlier, I changed the quotes to non-italic. Additionally I placed a green quote box in the article under Governor General's heading (if it is not a problem). I was thoroughly reading the article when I found two Citations needed tags added in Founding of Pakistan and Governor General. I'll look for them in the books related to his political career and will quote the references if I find any. After that I'll work on the lede and remove references from it and somehow manage to get them in the body of the article.
I searched for any material I could find on JSTOR. There is a lot of material available, I have e-mailed you the links to it. I'll try to extract whatever is worth adding when you'll send the copies, consult it with you and then add it to the article.

I read the attachments that you had sent me. Nearly all of them are relating to his political career. Recently a user tagged a lot of facts in the whole article with the tag of Citation needed. I have added references and removed the tags for approximately 50-60% of the article. You can see it. Currently working on the rest of them. Once I am through them, I'll start adding text from the books and encyclopedia's of Muhammad Ali Jinnah's life I have.

Sure, I'll do that. One thing that I want to ask which, as far as I think, is going to bring up a serious debate, is about Muhammad Ali Jinnah's religion. There is contradiction in it. If we see his early life, it is mentioned that (Jinnah's family belonged to the Ismaili Khoja branch of Shi'a Islam, though Jinnah later converted to Twelver Khoja Shi'a Islam.) meaning he was a follower of Shia Islam while in the last paragraph of illness and death it's mentioned that he converted to Sunni Islam and later on it is mentioned that he was neither a sunni nor a shia.
Though both of these sects are considered to be Muslims in books, it may be subject to serious discussion that which sect he followed. I have been searching on it for a while and still unable to find any reliable reference, though many more books are there with me which may consist any information on his religion. The reference used to prove his religion is the same "[1]".
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a good idea to have an extended, sourced, footnote. Regarding the centered picture: you mentioned you got the idea from Nixon. That's good and feel free to troll my articles for ideas, but the reason it works (and I've had to defend it if you look at the Nixon talk page) is because the Nixon article is extremely long and it helps both break up the text and also make the text less crowded with images. Expect to have to justify it at some point, and note that I did not get away with it at Assassination of William McKinley, where I had two large images as panoramas at the foot of the article but reviewers objected.--Wehwalt (talk) 13:43, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

I am having some problem regarding the religion of Jinnah. As quoted in Early life the following references are present. You can see the notes, [1] is a dead link,[2] is a blog on Wordpress (Haven't come across the book yet and don't have it either), [5][6] seem to have no relation with the topic, [25] is regarding his religion by birth making him a shia follower(Which is proved that he was from a Shia family). As for [96] it seems to contradict in itself and doesn't seem to me to fail WP:RS. [96] is used in illness and death last paragraph.
I have studied the books which I have and almost all of them which have any knowledge of Jinnah's religion have confirmed, that he, by birth, was a shia follower but later on when asked by a journalist he replied that "I believe in Allah and Quran but I am not a very religious person(not a maulvi{considered to be a person who follows with full practice}). I have studied The Glorious Quran and seen that it has guidance on every walk of life.... etc.." (Rest of it is about Quran). What should be done here?

my name is Mike, and I'm contacting you regarding your recent edit here on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essay. The thing is that you've deleted (reverted) the edit that I've done for the Dialectic essay section (Removed a blog as they are unreliable).

I'm wondering if there's a chance to convince you to bring my edit back (undo your edit)?

Here's the thing: I was researching the topic of dialectic essay writing, among many others I've found a few resources here on Wikipedia, but they were broken links. Another thing is that if you try searching those articles on wayback machine (web archive) - you'll see that those articles were not as detailed and well-researched as the one that I've wrote. I mean my article is better and deliver value for the Wikipedia users who are looking for the info/tips on writing a dialectic essay.

Regarding the reliabality of the blog itself, try searching the brand name via google: you'll find it mentioned on Huffington Post, Business Insider and many more trusted resources. It looks like the one you can trust, isn't it?

On top of that, I see you've created a dedicated page for the company that operates on the same market and provides relared type of services, it seems you consider them reliable.

I'll be glad if you undo your edit. What do you think?

Hi Bilby,
Thank you for dropping me a line in respect of the recent edits that I have done. I personally haven't been paid for this work. However, I was asked by a friend of mine to make these edits in respect of space elevator. I haven't really worked on the said article (Nofel Izz) but as soon as I came to know that the friend of mine is being paid to do so, I stopped editing it. Previously, I did make minor edits on the basis that the article was in poor shape but I realized that something was fishy when so many editors were continuously making promotional edits and by reading the discussions that were taking place on the talk page. I had created an article on telescopic Exo Shell, on request, which I didn't realize was coming under WP:MASK when I was notified by User:Skyways and User:Ronz. I agreed with them and did put that article up for deletion.
In reference to the disclosure, I have been editing Wikipedia off and on, in good faith and not for paid editing, for quite some time. If you like, and if you have time, you can review all the editing I have done so far to see if I was actually being paid.
I am sorry to see that you have included my name, in the list of paid editors because of some recent minor edits, on Ronz's talk page just based on the assumption that I am being paid to do so.
