Edit warring
[edit]I am declaring that I haven't provided any self-contradictory articles on Wikipedia. And that many of the " sources " on wikipedia is self-contradictory. And I have provided refutations against those self-contradictory articles on wikipedia that is filled with misinformations. But as it is clashing with someone's personal opinion, they keep reverting My edits without providing any counter refutations. And when I have filled complaint against that person, few other people whose opinion is similar to that person started being bigoted and trying to suppress the sources that I havw provided. Kindly inform Me the steps that I need to take in order to take action against them. Thanks. Gorgon Slayer (talk) 11:31, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

Your comment to the Vector 2022/2010 RfC was moved
[edit]Hello JeffUK,
This is to let you know that, in the recent RfC about the rollback from V2022 to V2010, I moved your comment from the section dedicated to the width question to the general "support" section, as you said that with your comment you wanted to support the general rollback. If it's wrong, please correct it. Æo (talk) 15:12, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Antigua KNH
[edit]You are correct. I genuinely believed that the Antigua KNH honorees were not entitled to use the prenomials/titles Sir and Dame. I investigated after you and another editor advised me that my edits were problematic. You credited me as a good faith editor in your edit summary ("Reverted good faith edits by 107.122.161.37 (talk): "In Antigua and Barbuda, Knights Companion of the Order may use the title "Sir" in front of their forename" Also as per WP:COMMONNAME they named a stadium after him with 'Sir..'").
So how did I go from good faith to final vandal warning? By being thorough? I am not a vandal as you would see if you reviewed my edits. Please remove the vandalism warning from my talk page. The neighbors will complain as it lowers the real estate values, LOL 😆. Yours, 107.122.161.37 (talk) 23:28, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- @107.122.161.37: You do realize you are permitted to remove warnings listed on your own talk page, right? Kirbanzo (talk - contribs) 23:51, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- Sure but it means more if the person who left it reverts it. I am just too sentimental.107.122.161.37 (talk) 00:01, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- User:107.122.161.37 The reason for the rapid escalation of the warnings, is that you seem to edit extremely quickly (to a point I wasn't sure if you were a human or a bot...), and I was trying to get your attention before you went through several dozen KNH holders and made a change to them against consensus. I do recognise you normally make good edits that are valuable, you'll notice I didn't revert your changes wholesale, only those that made this specific change. JeffUK 08:01, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

Anyway, glad you are here @Kirbanzo, this way I can show you and Jeff what I found: "In Antigua and Barbuda, Knights Companion of the The Most Distinguished Order of the Nation may use the prefix ‘Sir’ in front of their forename, and their wives may use the title ‘Lady’ in front of their husband’s surname. Similarly, Dames Companion of the Order may use the title ‘Dame’ in front of their forename. No specific privilege exists for their husbands. The Order of the National Hero was first established and constituted by the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda under the National Heroes Act 1994, in 1998 reestablished and most recently amended in 2015",
however, recipients of Jamaican state honours do not have the right to Sir/Dame prenomials/titles. "Members of these [Jamaica National Hero] orders are not entitled to the prefix of Sir" ([1]), according to Bob Juchter van Bergen Quast (CEO - Swiss Chamber of Commerce in The Netherlands, President - Court of Arbitration of the European Chamber of Digital Commerce). Interesting, right? 107.122.161.37 (talk) 00:09, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
Compound of four tetrahedra
[edit]Hey Jeff! What a great image you added. I mentioned you in the talk page for the article, asking if you could by any chance reproduce the image with a neutral white background, and maybe slightly darker overtones for the tetrahedra so that they match a little more closely (they already match) with the top and lateral perspective images of the compound that are also included. Thank you again, beautiful work (I actually love the pink background, but I think users would prefer white). Radlrb (talk) 21:57, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

[edit]That is the strangest mirror. They seems to have paid meticulous attention to image copyright across various timeframes and countries, and then just completely ripped off the Wikipedia text on every page without the correct license or attribution? Hopefully they read the notice you sent. Sam Kuru (talk) 00:45, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Jeff, I wanted to alert you to this request on the Craig Newmark article talk page. It is based off our previous conversation on re- organizing the ''Philanthropy'' section into categories. Much thanks for reviewing. Cnewmark (talk) 22:14, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
Joshua Hughes Paul
[edit]Jeff I am hoping to both factually correct and include all that Joshua Hughes Paul achieved in his wikipedia history. He was an amazing man, educator, public speaker and my great grandfather. The edits I proposed were documented and published by the historian of the Univ of Utah and historians by the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His list of authored books was from the library of congress. I didnt use any of my own thoughts just what is published by reputable authors. Can you reverse your acceptance of my suggested edits so the record stands corrected and accurate. I admit I am not fully knowledgeable about how to make, edit or suggest corrections on wikipedia. Please let me know if there is a more appropriate process to follow. If its easier to connect live please let me know. I am happy to share my mobile number and personal email. I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi JeffUK. Thank you for your work on Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for starting this well-referenced page, that shows sustained coverage for this charity over many years. For future pages, from the manual of style (WP:MOS) remember that headings are in sentence case and external links are after references. The categories should also be the most specific ones available.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}
. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Karen Read case
[edit]I disagree that the Albert family and McCabe family are "third-party" and have nothing to do with the case. Their power and influence and their connection with the lead investigator is the core problem in the case and why this case is significant (Brian is a BPD officer, Chris is a selectman in the town of Canton, and Proctor family is close to them). These are all facts. Mikiko609 (talk) 21:44, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
August 2024
[edit]Hi JeffUK! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at 2024 United Kingdom riots that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. C F A 💬 19:39, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know, I actually didn't intend to remove any text on that edit, so it's a good job you pointed it out, I'll check it's been added back in in the meantime. JeffUK 18:01, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
DYK for Sam Carling
[edit]On 22 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sam Carling, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Sam Carling was the first UK member of Parliament to be born in the 21st century? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sam Carling. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Sam Carling), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
