Regarding your revert to Corona del Mar High School

Toddy1 reverted 174.240.39.203, who was blocked as obvious sock of 72.194.125.162. 72.194 is a long-term POV-pusher and the only dissenting voice in the "ongoing" discussion. Toddy1 did not call you names, unless you're claiming that you're that 72.194 (which would be hard to believe given your userpage, and would be block evasion if true). If you have nothing new to add to the discussion, please self-revert. Ian.thomson (talk) 06:18, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

I've been watching the discussion but have not had the time to contribute yet. As I told you in the previous discussion we had, I feel the current version is an improvement but still undue. I suggested some remedies but it doesn't seem like anything has been done. today's behavior has been less then stellar in the discussion. I will be contributing my input soon, and as I am sure you know, Wikipedia has no deadlines. It hurts nothing to leave the template in place. John from Idegon (talk) 06:32, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
Ian Thompson is in error - look at the long history and numerous editors. He simply has more time on his hands - and possibly an ax to grind. Efforts to bring balance will be appreciated.2600:1012:B124:B826:85B:86FE:7A88:6BB (talk)
It doesn't matter who is in error. The contentiousness of the talk is making finding a consensus difficult. Talk about the edits, not the editors. Ian did a good job cleaning this up. You should have seen it before. now we just gotta get it in a balanced perspective with the rest of the school's history. John from Idegon (talk) 19:13, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Dave Stanton

Hello John from Idegon, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Dave Stanton, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: AFM Champion is an assertion of importance sufficient to preclude speedy deletion. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 06:22, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Oakdale High School (Maryland) edits

Hello, John from Idegon.
Regarding the edits that I made to the page Oakdale High School (Maryland) I would like to say a couple things.

The Enrollment was referenced. [1] and the Wikipedia edit comparison page to prove it: [2]

Next, I would like to thank you for correcting my fair use image error (Forgot to look at image rights) and telling me about the three-revert rule (No one ever told me before).

I feel that colorboxes should be used in the infobox.

Now, those championships you deleted on the page belong to Oakdale High.
The 2A for Boys' and Girls' Indoor Track and Boys' Soccer were won by the school.
I am trying to find some references that say this, I know personally.

Ahh, here's a reliable source for both track: http://thebaltimorewire.com/2015/02/17/maryland-indoor-track-state-championships-oakdale-rules-2a/

And Soccer: http://www.your4state.com/story/d/story/oakdale-high-school-high-school-soccer-sports/32132/QbAqGQwRCk68AxsYeIOgIQ

And [3] this source which was referenced [4] clearly shows the connection between the two schools.

Link here: [5] that proves Zach Thomas went to Oakdale and now plays in college. Here is another link: [6]

Please put the championships back in as they belong to the school and are now referenced.
Please put in the enrollment in the infobox as that was referenced.
Please also put 2008 as Linganore High and 2010 as Oakdale High back in the infobox as it was also clearly referenced.
Please put Zach back on the page as sources now prove [7][8] that he is connected to the school.

Just because I'm somewhat new doesn't mean I'm completely terrible.
Let's make Wikipedia better together.
(Utzdman55 (talk) 20:30, 2 April 2015 (UTC))

Sorry if you were offended. Pretty sure you are the IP that added the nn guy in the first place, so that's why you got the edit warring template. please don't put him back. he is not notable. notable may not mean what you think it does. on Wikipedia notable means qualifies for an article. he unambiguously does not. please read up on reliable sources. some of the sources you have given are not reliable. in all but the most mundane things, sources should be independent of the school. regarding the other school, that is going to be a bigger issue that I simply don't have time to deal with right now. NCES is the best source for enrollment data. the tv and newspaper stories are sufficient reference for the athletic achievements, but the state high school sports sanctioning body would be better, as newspaper links have a nasty habit of dying. happy editing. I'll post something on the article talk page when I have the time to figure out what the deal with the two school names is and what should be done about it. probably 2 weeks. John from Idegon (talk) 15:58, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
K. Wasn't IP that added college basketball player, but I'll make sure it doesn't go back. Found NCES Source for enrollment, number matched old source but looks a hell lot more reliable. I'll add that in Infobox along with colorboxes for the school's colors and the championships- i'll capture those pages and put them in the internet archive and then I can source it there and those links will be permanent. That's all I'll do. Thanks, (Utzdman55 (talk) 18:56, 3 April 2015 (UTC))
Cool. Not real sure what you mean regarding the newspaper and tv links, but they are fine for now. I am not clear on what the deal with the two school names. admittedly I have not had a chance to read the second article. I'd it the same school but the name changed? two years is an awfully short period of time fo a school to exist. John from Idegon (talk) 21:54, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Utzdman55 You are lucky. You are in good hands. . Buster Seven Talk 21:59, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Buster7 Yeah, he's a good user.
John from Idegon The building held one school's (Linganore's) students while their school was being rebuilt. The building was Linagnore from 2008-2010 and then the Linganore students moved to their new building- Oakdale started in the 2010-2011 school year.

That seems remarkably silly, but what do I know? the article follows the school, not the building. referenced copy in the article discussing the fact that the building was used by two differential schools is very appropriate in the history section of the article(s), but it does not need to be mentioned in the infobox. I am sure I'm not the only one that would be confused and you gotta remember that we write these articles for people with no personal knowledge of the subject. Help:Referencing for beginners/sandbox

I noticed that you've reverted several days edits to Help:Referencing for beginners/sandbox without any explanation. Did you mean to do that? A group of editors are using that sandbox page to develop a new version of the main help page - see Help_talk:Referencing for beginners#Complete overhaul of tutorial. -- John of Reading (talk) 10:46, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

no I didn't. feel free to reverse. I'm hoping that one day soon I'll get used to' typing, by tapping on a window. John from Idegon (talk) 10:52, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying. Give me an old-fashioned mouse, any day! -- John of Reading (talk) 11:22, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Hello. I am on mobile and my edit summary did not work, but I undid your undo about the Kalamazoo hospital. If you want to reword the text...go ahead but to say that there are two hospitals is incorrect there and the historic large hospital should not be left out of the article..thanks2601:C:6783:6A01:F461:ED60:EBDA:90DA (talk) 12:46, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Pass Christian, Mississippi

Hi John. I wonder if you could peek at Pass Christian, Mississippi. There have been a ton of recent edits, and I've had to delete or edit some. I've offered advice to the editor making the additions, particularly that he start using edit summaries (asked twice), but my offer was quickly dismissed and deleted. If you read my message here on his talk page you'll see my concerns. His edits are certainly in good faith. As usual, thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 01:27, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Commercial school?

Your edit summary

AFAIK it's not a commercial school. The "Inc." is just in its name. From my understanding Hoshuko are not commercial. They are sponsored by the Japanese government. WhisperToMe (talk) 06:47, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

again, so what? it isn't there now, it isn't notable, and it cannot call itself "Inc" unless it is a corporation. who sponsors, whatever that means, it is irrelevant. how does knowing it WAS there increase a person's knowledge if the community? John from Idegon (talk) 06:54, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
"and it cannot call itself "Inc" unless it is a corporation." - Does Indiana state law allow a nonprofit to call itself "Inc."? I might investigate that issue.
"how does knowing it WAS there increase a person's knowledge if the community?" ... that there were likely Japanese nationals/Japanese people living in or near there. The purpose of a hoshuko is for the child to get Japanese government-mandated education while he/she is in a foreign country. Then when he/she returns to Japan he/she won't be behind in the coursework.
WhisperToMe (talk) 07:00, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
It appears on GuideStar as a nonprofit. I'll open a talk page section at Talk:Granger, Indiana WhisperToMe (talk) 07:08, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
Which I'd exactly what you should have done in the first place, rather than coming here, where you are certainly not going to find a consensus, setting my email nnotifications off and waking my kid up. Thanks for figuring that out. Tata. John from Idegon (talk) 07:15, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Andrewballwamk needs a little help

Hi there! I don't know if I'm leaving you a message the right way, but I'm trying. I had seen about the Linton-Stockton page. What I had done was asked around, on Facebook, about pictures of the old LSHS along with some information. The current Linton-Stockton High School at night photo was mine that I taken at Thanksgiving. The other two (of the old building) was given to me on Facebook from a woman. I'm having trouble trying to describe this all through the copyright section when uploading a photo. This is what is confusing to me. I was just trying to update the page to give Linton a little more pride. It's where my family is from, though we no longer live there. ANY help at all would be appreciated, maybe some advice on what to do. Is there any way to bring back what you deleted? If this all does work out? I spent a couple hours today, and all day yesterday trying to pull it together. Please let me know! Thank you very much!Andrewballwamk (talk) 01:59, 21 April 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewballwamk (talkcontribs) 01:51, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 22

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Marian High School (Mishawaka, Indiana), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sisters of St. Francis. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi I dont think it's obvious that a place in northern Michigan would have a warmer record low temperature than most of southern Michigan. Not to the general public anyway who often assume anything that far north is frozen tundra. Would you be willing to just say "south and west"? Soap 03:28, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

OK by me. I am from Michigan, so I guess that colors my outlook a bit. And I apparently misread it, I thought it said the opposite. My apologies. Feel free to revert. My main access of late has been an entirely too small phone. Sorry. John from Idegon (talk) 03:31, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Seconds

Hey John. Thanks for seconding my noms. I wanted to let you know that I usually wait till the thirteenth day to second nominations; that gives other editors the chance to second instead of me (which might seem like a rubber stamp to some if I do it right away). I'm always trying to increase involvement. I just wanted you to know so you didnt think that I wouldnt want to second yours. TRA! . Buster Seven Talk 00:06, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

I figured as much and expected nothing. I'd like others to see their awesomeness anyway. Glad to be back in the swing a bit. Hope the arbcom thing works out to your expectations. I'm afraid I'd tell everyone exactly what I thought and quite specifically where they could put it if I were in your shoes. John from Idegon (talk) 00:50, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Did you ever experience that way that some editors have of, no matter how wrong they are, they want to reflect everything back to you and talk about the little mis-step you committed and take the eyes of the viewing public off of their major boondoggle? Thats the way the editor in question is (among a hundred other bothersome traits). I've never seen him in a reflective, "O! I see your point, I never thought of it that way" kind of space. Not with me...not with anyone. Anyway, Glad to see you back. . Buster Seven Talk 01:28, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Concerning the Millard North High School Page

I find that the fact that the school is nationally ranked in Speech and Debate is encyclopedia worthy. It does that as it is a team achievement as whole, and not a personal achievement. I do not understand your critiquing of this particular fact staying on the page. Rthakker (talk) 05:19, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

First, are you the IP editor that I have been discussing this with? Second, neither your or my feelings have any bearing on this. Lastly, discussion of article content belongs on the article's talk page. Please take it there and identity yourself as the IP editor if applicable. BTW, I will probably not be replying until tomorrow evening. That in no way makes it ok to replace the disputed content. Wikipedia has no deadlines.
