Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Collins Debden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. August 2013[edit]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Collins Debden. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 14:28, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at William Collins (publisher), you may be blocked from editing. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 14:29, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did at William Collins, Sons, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. A tag has been placed on Collins Debden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.collinsdebden.com.au/about-us/menu-id-113.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

I've deleted the page as it had no substantive content other than that copied from http://www.collinsdebden.com.au/about-us/menu-id-113.html and http://www.collinsdebden.co.uk/TheHistoryofCollins/. If you really think, despite all these warnings to the contrary, that Collins Debden is worthy of a Wikipedia article, I strongly suggest that you use the Article wizard to create it. Ensure that you use your own words, and find some truly independent sources that discuss the company, so it can pass our notability guideline for companies. Hope this helps,  —SMALLJIM  15:22, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Smalljim your deletion is incorrect, you have cited different reasons from the ones nominated for speedy deletion. You gave me all of 19 minutes to try and delete i which is completely unfair. I will try and redo it again in following with the guidelines but Wikipedia is one of the hardest things to get a page uploaded on. If you look at other users like paperchase who are promoting advertising saying they have a strong sense of design without any references how can you delete my page. Nevermind. Trial and error I suppoose. JulesMarshall (talk) 15:37, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No - I deleted it because it was a copyright violation per the message from ConcernedVancouverite just above. We take copyright infringement seriously, so as soon as I was satisfied that was the case I deleted it straight away. I agree with you that it can be difficult to write new articles here, especially ones on companies - all the easy stuff was added years ago! Please do work through the Article wizard before trying to add the article in mainspace again.  —SMALLJIM  16:08, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
