I would like to markedly improve the page Karl Sipfle, which was deleted. I would like to see the deleted page. Please help me with that. Thank you. -KS[edit]

Kodster can not do this. He is not an administrator. He can not view deleted text and thus can not grant your request. Please ask an administrator. Thank you for your polite request.--Xp54321 (Hello!Contribs) 18:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Xp is right. Unfortunately, I cannot do this for you. Here's a list of administrators who can help you with your problem. Good luck, and happy editing!
Also, the title is not the place to leave the comment. The title is a few words about what your comment's about (think of it as the "Subject" line in an email). Your comment goes under your title, followed by your signature. Cheers! Kodster (heLLo) (Me did that) 23:14, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Thriller time[edit]

Hi Kod, Thriller is at FA again and it's looking good. It just needs another copy edit/check by another editor. I didn't wanna disturb you since you appear to be busy in real life but I've already asked everyone else I can think of. If you can help it's appreciated. — Realist2 14:17, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I'm crossing my fingers on Thriller! And I'll be glad to do a copyedit for you, R2 (as long as I get to have another little star on the corner of my page). ;-) Kodster (heLLo) (Me did that) 20:24, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I'm done. The article has a lot (a lot) of good info, is well-written (to my knowledge), is sourced well, has good pictures, meets FA requirement in my eyes. I'll try to make time for a more in-depth look for the FA review, but it looks like a green light as far as copyediting goes. Good luck, bud! Kodster (heLLo) (Me did that) 21:17, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Cheers, it's looking good and thanx for your assistance. — Realist2 22:46, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, that's a shame, if you can do bit's and bobs though that's still cool. — Realist2 01:40, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Help!.ogg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Help!.ogg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 14:34, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Strawberry Fields Forever - peer review[edit]

Good to see you back; I see there has been some previous debate about Cover versions, and obviously non-notable ones should be omitted ("American Idol", anyone?). However, if you look at Video Killed the Radio Star, that has a separate section for the version by The Presidents of the United States of America, which charted, and a table for other minor versions. In the case of SFE, Candy Flip's version, being a top three UK hit, would at least seem to be comparable with the POTUS version of VKtRS. Let me know what you think. Cheers. --Rodhullandemu 22:51, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Beat rain.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Beat rain.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 12:43, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

A day in the life[edit]

The genre should be changed to symphonic rock because in the Article "Symphonic Rock", it says that The Beatles's A day in the life is the earliest example of symphonic rock. So either, that is a reliable source and A day in the life should be changed or the statement in the Article "Symphonic Rock" should be edited for not having a reliable source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Palaciopalermo12 (talkcontribs) 01:25, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Your last statement is the most accurate. We cannot use unsourced statements in one Wikipedia article to support statements in other articles.
La tua ultima dichiarazione è il più accurato. Non siamo in grado di utilizzare Bibliografia dichiarazioni in un articolo di Wikipedia per sostenere le dichiarazioni in altri articoli.

Hi, I'm looking for someone who can help me get my first article right! Are you available? Best,

Hello, I need some advice[edit]

I am not new to Wikipedia, but I am relatively new to Wikimedia Commons, uploading photos that are needed in the last couple months (a whole lot, mostly from four professional photographers who, for different reasons, are willing to allow their photos to be used on Wikipedia. Lately, I'm having problems getting some photos uploaded, even though the person from whom they come marks the ones (I email him and ask for) with appropriate attribution, "BY"-"CC". Most of them are black and white pictures from the late seventies and early eighties, and he now has glaucoma, and can not continue, and sees his contributions as a legacy, I suppose. Question: how can I communicate with Admins who delete the upload before I've even finished typing the description of the photos? Do you know to whom I can appeal? Some of these, for Aerosmith's Joey Kramer, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, the Talking Heads, make it in-- and then others, of whom we have no photos, are denied! From Screaming Jay Hawkins, Blondie (Not JUST Deborah Harry, but other members), Be Bop Deluxe, etc. What can I do? Even one of Keith Moon with whom I persisted-- and it finally made it in are disallowed. I am so frustrated. Can you please help me or tell me who might accept the uploads of valuable and kindly given photos? --leahtwosaints (talk) 10:54, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Copy edit request[edit]

Hey Kodster, the article "Scream/Childhood" is currently at peer review, I wish to take it to FA. If you could help copy edit it that would be highly appreciated. I hope you have time to edit more at wikipedia over the summer holidays. Kind regards as always. — R2 21:53, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Group or band – which one?[edit]

We are holding a straw poll (in a very friendly way, of course) to decide if The Beatles should be called a group, or a band. You can add your user signature to one or the other by clicking this link, Group or band – which one?. Thanks.--andreasegde (talk) 23:55, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:Chipped Paul.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chipped Paul.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 19:59, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

new user, GA improvement[edit]

Hi Kodster. I'm a new user, and I'm also interested in improving articles to GA status. I just did a major edit of my namesake, and I'm thinking of submitting an GA assessment request soon. Do you think you could look it over and tell me what should be improved before I do that? Looks like you're a good person to ask, and it would be much appreciated. Thanks! Maniacmagee (talk) 21:23, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Like a Rolling Stone[edit]

Hi, Kodster, how's it going? I noticed you were involved in bringing Like a Rolling Stone up to GA status. You may or not be aware, but the Wikipedia:WikiProject Bob Dylan is collaborating right now to try to bring it up to FA. I don't know if you would like to get involved or not, but I just thought I'd let you know. Have a good day! Moisejp (talk) 01:57, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi Kodster, On May 31, 2008 you added a reference to Cresswell in the Like a Rolling Stone article, but no information was added about the book in the References section (see [[1]). Could you confirm that that is Toby Cresswell, 1001 Songs: The Great Songs of All Time and the Artists, Stories and Secrets Behind Them and maybe add the book's information to the Reference section? Thanks a lot! This question has come up under "Writing and recording section" on Like a Rolling Stone's discussion page. Moisejp (talk) 20:29, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
