License tagging for File:Raffles Institution Coat of Arms.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Raffles Institution Coat of Arms.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:09, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Raffles Institution

[edit]

Dear Toh Han

I see that you have changed Mr Mag to no longer being responsible for Discipline. Does that mean somebody else is now responsible for discipline and caning and if so who? Has the deputy head (discipline) post been abolished?

Also, is there caning at RJC too, or should we amend the Discipline section to make clear that that applies only to the pre-merger RI secondary section?

Thanks, Alarics (talk) 16:44, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no clear position currently for discipline (although it is assumed that SDHM does it). In addition, source no. 17 does not do much in showing the presence of public canning in RI, so the current facts have to be stated as only applying to the pre-merger secondary school until reliable sources can be found (which can be quite hard to come by, unfortunately). The article Raffles Programme has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is a stub, but does not contain any information that is not already found in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raffles_Institution or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raffles_Institution_(Junior_College). Simply head to those pages and search 'Raffles Programme' for yourself. The information within this article is limited to a single mission statement, which can be just as easily stated within the articles themselves (which I have already done). Notability is also an issue - while the schools themselves are notable, this programme is merely one of many integrated programmes within Singapore, and the only one with its own article. Thus, I propose deletion as it is redundant and not notable enough to be separate from its parent articles.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. θvξrmagξ contribs 05:20, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Janadas Devan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Institute of Policy Studies (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Raffles Institution Coat of Arms.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Raffles Institution Coat of Arms.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Stefan2 (talk) 14:37, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
