Hello, I'm CASSIOPEIA. I noticed that you made a change to an article, UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ 5, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:54, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@CASSIOPEIA:, Yeah, I know. I'm new to this so I don't know how to do all that stuff. I know the basics. I'll try again! MaminaX (talk) 10:14, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MaminaX, Greetings to you.

Ping the editor

[edit]

First of all you need to "ping the editor you intended to send the message to by inserting {{ping}} so they know there is a message from you to them. You have to do it in all the talk pages except on the intended editor talk page. For example, you want to talk to me in your talk page then ping me. (see in source edit mode as I have insert ping on your message above to me).

MMA

[edit]

When there is a bout/match up announced from the press, we put the bout on the "announced bouts section". When the bout has shown in the UFC web site (pls check the source underneath the fight card table as each event might be sourced in diff UFC web site (US or Locals), then we remove the bout in the "Announce bouts" section and place it on the "Fiht card" section. If you are interest in edition MMA pages in Wikipedia, pls go to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Mixed_martial_arts and read the guidelines and put your name if you want to participate in the project.

inline citation

[edit]

Content added in Wikipeidia need to be supported by source(s). Pls go to referencing for beginners to understand what is needed and how to provide inline citation.

Pls pop by my talk page, if you anything else I could help. Thank you and cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:30, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, MaminaX, You inline citation did not place correctly. It should look something like this (view in source edit mode pls) [1]. Secondly, only "official" bout is placed under the "Announced bouts" section. Rumours, in work, plan, call-out and any site that is not independent and reliable such as from user generated sites can not be used. Sources from major MMA sites, major newspapers are good. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:08, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@CASSIOPEIA: Oh, I understand. Thank you for the information! MaminaX (talk) 12:06, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi MaminaX, good to know. by the way, you forgot to add the word "ping" and the pipe "|" (see in source editing mode as I have added them on your above message). I know you write to me as your talk page is on my watch list. Also do add an extra colon " : " from the previous message for one space indentation - this is the communication protocol in Wikipedia. Lastly, if the communication is within the same message, you dont need to create a new section, but just type your message after the last communicate under the same message title. If you have any more questions or need any assistance, pls come to my talk page. (just click "talk" after my name at the end of the this message) or you would ping me here. Cheers. @CASSIOPEIA: What did I do? MaminaX (talk) 00:33, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mamina X, pls ping the editor which I have informed you how to do it twice before,so the editor would know there is a message for them (in Wikipedia, we use gender neutral pronounce (them, they and their instead of he/she, him/her and etc unless we know ex exactly the gender of the editor).
  1. for UFC Fight Night on ESPN+ 7, the bout has "yet to be in UFC web site fight card", so do not add in the fight card section - you have been informed on the previous message.
  2. UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw - pls do not remove the fight card and not leaving any breif info on the "edit summary" for all we know is that you just delete the sourced contain. Every edit we make, we put a brief summary before saving to let other editor know what we have done as Wikipedia is a collaborator effort from many. (you could put "John Lineker out - see URLxxxxxxx) on the edit summary. Or you can do all the edit in one go, removign Lineker only and provide the background info as there will be an inline citation that editor could check the content as per source or not. Keep the bout in the fight card but remove the withdrawn fighter until it is announce the bout is cancelled or a replacement is sought(see edit summary info below - pls click on "blue highlighted texts for it will bring you to other page where info is provided in detail of the subject)
Bellator 216, same here, the bout is yet to be on the Bellator fight card, pls remove it from the fight card in Wikipedia and put it on the background section.

Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:56, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
