Can i recreate a deleted page by the admin?

[edit]

I need help in publishing a page I created. It was initially done in our company website "Tiburondata.com/raydonato", when I created the same page in Wikipedia, it was deleted by admin due to duplication. We have deleted the page in our company website and we want to put it up in Wikipedia. How do I do that without having it deleted by admin? Meldine (talk) 08:38, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that would be a case of conflict of interest, as you're representing an organisation and are editing on their behalf. And to top it all off, Wikipedia is not a web host. This is an encyclopedia, not a place for companies to promote their wares or some dump where people can have whatever it is they have hosted here. Blake Gripling (talk) 08:43, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The article you submitted was a) copied from elsewhere b) inappropriately promotional in tone and c) unsupported by sources. Whilst it's quite likely that Ray Donato is notable enough to warrant a Wikipedia article, it looks as though you yourself are not the right person to write it, due to conflicting interests. You are welcome to list it as a requested article, and I might even have a crack at creating something myself later today if I have the time, but please do not repost the same text to Wikipedia again. Yunshui  09:37, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If I want to create a page without representing our organization, and just want to create an informative page for an individual (Mr. Ray Donato, Philippine Honorary Consul General to the U.S.A.) can I do that? This is to be done in his behalf, and with his knowledge. Meldine (talk) 09:40, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've actually just had a look, and I have to say, I'm not sure there are enough sources available to support an article on Ray Donato. I'm surprised, given the role of Honorary Consul, but I have failed to find the extensive coverage in reliable, unaffiliated sources that Wikipedia requires. There may be sources available in Tagalog (or possibly Japanese) that I'm not aware of, but I'm pretty experienced at creating articles on obscure individuals, and I really don't think there's enough out there to warrant one. Yunshui  09:45, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's why he want one done in Wikipedia if possible. All our information were from his CV which he gave us. Some of the events he attended are scattered through the internet, via some clippings on news articles and his facebook account. How can we create a wikipedia page for him then? Meldine (talk) 09:54, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What did you mean by reliable and unaffiliated sources? Does he need to have a biography published? Or an article written about him in any online newspaper? Meldine (talk) 09:57, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Reliable" sources are published (i.e. available to the public in some form) by an entity with professional editorial oversight over the content (i.e. not self-published; no blogs or vanity presses), are secondary or tertiary, and are ideally unbiased. "Unaffiliated" basically rules out anything derived from the article's subject or their representatives; CVs, press releases, most interviews, corporate or personal webpages etc. are not suitable. Examples of suitable sources would include: a biography (though not an autobiography) published by a recognised book publishing company, profiles or obituaries in nationally circulated newspapers or magazines, or extensive coverage in a recognised online news source with known editorial standards. Yunshui  10:14, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, got it! I'll ask him if he has any of those sources published so we can show you a link to it. Can we get back to you tomorrow? Meldine (talk) 10:25, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sending you copies of Newspaper articles about Mr. Raoul Donato one from Atlanta Business Chronicle and Glass Istre Newspaper. Will you accept these as supporting documents for Mr. Donato's Wikipage?(Meldine (talk) 08:04, 30 July 2014 (UTC))[reply]

File permission problem with File:Ray Donato in Atlanta Business Chronicle Newspaper.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ray Donato in Atlanta Business Chronicle Newspaper.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:34, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Raoul Ray Donato

[edit]

Hello Meldine. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Raoul Ray Donato".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Raoul Ray Donato}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 23:00, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Raoul Ray Donato has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Daiyusha (talk) 04:18, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Raoul Ray Donato requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Raoul Ray Donato requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://archive.is/llM2z. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
