It's likely that there's a good encyclopedia article that could be written about this, but the current draft is exceptionally difficult to read. The "Table of scholarly estimates" is almost impossible to make any sense out of on any reasonable sized screen (and totally useless on a mobile device). Normally, formatting issues would not be a cause for rejection, but in this case, it's so severe it makes it impossible to review properly.

Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.
