RFA nomination
Hi UkPaolo, I'm sorry that you couldn't accept Bling-chav's nomination. I didn't know he was acting in bad faith, and I should have checked his edits before voting. By the way, I think you're a great editor, and you're certainly qualified to become a sysop. I'm going on a temporary wikibreak right now, but when I return I'd like to nominate you. Would you accept? Mushroom (Talk) 22:21, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Mushroom, many thanks for your message. I would gratefully accept such a nomination :o) Enjoy the break! └ UkPaolo/talk┐ 21:52, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
RfA Thanks!
From 68.45.196.37
Thanks for taking the time to welcome me to wikipedia. In your welcome message you have informed me that "...we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material...". Great, I understand completely and had I been the one who added the so called 'copyrighted' material I would be happy to apologize for it. Unfortunately all I did was add a blockquote and attribute a source to the obvious plagiarism, as the contents on wikipedia resembled a press release I read not too long ago. Perhaps if you had viewed the history a little closer you would have discovered this.
Thank you
For your welcome. I wonder if you are correct in mentioning that I do not have to get an account? A user called Wahkeenah is claiming that I do, in rather agressive tones - could you please clarify? THank you! 67.40.249.122 04:56, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if I didn't answer earlier (I was on wikibreak). Of course you don't have to register, but it would be better: Wikipedia receives a lot of vandalism, and it's difficult to trust anonymous users. Please remember to follow Wikipedia policies when editing, in particular WP:NPOV and WP:3RR. If the other editors don't agree with your edits, try to explain them on talk pages, and hopefully you will reach a compromise. Mushroom (Talk) 01:46, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
RFA
Hi, just wanted to thank you for voting on my RFA, which went through with a count of (58/0/1), far better than I'd expected. I intend to take things slowly and start using the extra abilities gradually, but if there's anything I can do just leave a message. Cheers, CTOAGN (talk) 13:54, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Adminship Vote
I want to sincerely thank you for voting on my successful adminship nomination. Whenever I mess up, please let me know. I want to learn from my mistakes so they don't become patterns. Superm401 - Talk 05:30, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
iTunes info
I added some more information to the iTunes article with another hidden reference. I would (again) appreciate it if you would give the article a look and un-hide it if you find it worthy, as it would violate NPOV for me to do so, being an admin on the site that published the article. Thanks in advance. uriah923(talk) 08:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Uriah, unfortunately I can't do that because of the spam blacklist. I'm sorry. Mushroom (Talk) 01:13, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- That's odd. There was an issue way back when with links to ON, but that has long since been resolved. As far as I know, Essjay was never involved in any of the disputes. He even listed it as .org, which forwards to the actual site, a .com. I guess I'll take this up with him, but I would ask you to reconsider in the mean time. I can find nothing on the WP policy on spam that would qualify it as such - especially since I am going out of my way to ensure NPOV. uriah923(talk) 01:57, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ah. I see now that Barefootguru removed both links. He has some history with the previously resolved O-Nerd issue. I can only assume that he is not aware of the current state of things. I've commented on this on his talk page, if you care to follow along. uriah923(talk) 03:43, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I'd like to see his explanation for the removal, since the linked article seemed relevant. Mushroom (Talk) 03:47, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Barefootguru said he was required to remove the links; it wasn't because he was opposed to them. I assume that's because of the blacklist thing, but I'm not sure how that whole process works. I suggest we move the discussion to the iTunes talk page so you, Barefootguru and I can get the opinions of other interested editors. Please come comment. uriah923(talk) 05:54, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- Essjay updated his info. Please see my comment on the iTunes talk page and the blacklist talk page. uriah923(talk) 02:25, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- The blacklisting was removed and I fixed the link text on the iTunes article. I would appreciate it if you would review the links (again) and uncomment them if you deem it appropriate. uriah923(talk) 07:06, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Commenting on talk pages
As someone who exhorts others to comment on talk pages before making changes, you aren't doing a very good job of practicing what you preach. Nohat 00:16, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- I have clearly stated my opinion at Talk:iTunes and I'm going to comment at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). This is a major change and it would affect a lot of articles: you should have proposed it on the talk page and waited before adding it to the MoS. And I'm slow, give me some time :) Mushroom (Talk) 00:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to vote in my RfA, and for welcoming me to the fold. My RfA passed with a final vote of 54/2/1 despite my obvious inadequacy for the job. I'll do my level best to use the mop and bucket — or, as I said in my RfA, plunger — responsibly. Of course, in the best tradition of politicans everywhere, I've already broken a campaign promise (I blocked a vandal last night despite having said "I don't anticipate using the blocking tool very often"). Nevertheless, I'll try not to let the unbridled power corrupt me. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 14:56, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks from me, too, for the kind words at my talk page, and for your support at RFA. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for healthy adminning, or if you see me screwing up. :) Chick Bowen 16:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Query
G'day. I was under the impression that advertising was appropriate for a speedy delete. Could you point me towards the policy that PROD would have been better? This is in reference to your edit of Viable Vision. Other administrators have happily accepted my speedy recommendation for advertising. Much obliged. Henry Maustrauser 11:06, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- Please read the criteria for speedy deletion. Companies are not covered by CSD A7 (non-notability), and there is no criterion for spam. If I could delete it, I would gladly do it, but unfortunately it would be against the existing policy. Mushroom (Talk) 11:10, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Mushroom, thanks for your support in my RFA, which succeeded. If I can ever improve or help in any way, please let me know! :) —Quarl (talk) 2006-02-16 11:19Z
Manaphy
Why did you delete the Manaphy page??? (207.200.34.177 15:54, 16 February 2006 (UTC))
- He deleted it because I put a CSD-G6 notice on there, which is because I didn't move the article properly (I tried to move it properly, but someone had already created a seperate article with the correct title, and I stupidly did a cut-and-paste instead). Wonk619 17:03, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Images by banned users
Hello, Mushroom, I noticed you've been deleting some images uploaded by banned users. I'm wondering if you're using Freakofnurture's list at User:Catapult/Images to find them, and if not, whether you're interested in using that list, and if so, whether you have any opinions about how we might better organize our activities in going through them. Freak feels that I've been crossing them out too liberally, which is probably true. I've asked Duk to have a look, too. Chick Bowen 16:58, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I used that list, and it seems really useful. Maybe I should have talked with Freak or with you before doing it, though. I deleted only orphaned images, but now I'm checking the other ones for incorrect tags. Mushroom (Talk) 21:25, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- I made no such accusation. I did say I was surprised by the high pass-rate, though I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of image licensing. I do agree with Mushroom about IAR-deleting the orphaned ones. If we aren't using it and don't have any idea what it belongs to, and the uploader is no longer with us, it's just taking up space. — Feb. 17, '06 [01:00] <freakofnurxture|talk>
- I was joking, Freak! Mushroom, I'm delighted to have you working on the list; I'll try to recruit a couple others (though I think I won't mention at WP:AN, since it might get a little chaotic if it gets too much publicity). Chick Bowen 04:53, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Roderick Gradidge
Please undelete the Roderick Gradidge page so that I can continue working on it. Thanks!
Here's more bio on him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Patchen (talk • contribs)
- I have undeleted it, but I don't think it meets Wikipedia's notability requirements. Mushroom (Talk) 23:07, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Chuck Norris Facts
Sorry, I did not consider my edit as "vandalism." I was simply adding, in an organized manner, a piece of information that is currently not on wikipedia (the jokes themselves). But, I will nevertheless steer clear of the Chuck Norris edit page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Glix (talk • contribs)
- No problem, Glix. Happy editing!

If you are referring to Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Markaci/Nudity, the result was "no consensus", so the page was kept. Mushroom (Talk) 03:32, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Hi Mushroom. I'm trying to figure out what evidence exists that Squidward is the George Reeves guy, whom I am engaging. I don't think he is, the modus operandi don't seem to match. Herostratus 04:49, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- They use similar edit summaries (all caps and exclamation point at the end), they used the same open proxies, and he threatened User:Phroziac saying he was preparing a big attack on Wikipedia: "Tuesday we r back for all out attack". Mushroom (Talk) 04:57, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
Dustbin
Hi! You deleted dustbin 'for merge', but I can't find where you merged it too. As a lot of links and redirects have been broken, and I'd like to try and fix them. What was dustbin merged with? smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 14:15, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- The deletion had been requested by User:King of Hearts who wanted to merge it with Trash can, but he
hasn't done the merge, so I have restored the article. Mushroom (Talk) 14:19, 18 February 2006 (UTC)- Actually, I should have done the merge, sorry for the mistake. Mushroom (Talk) 00:27, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Wiki Gonzales image
Our policies on fair use images is that they must be used in articles only, so images that aren't used in articles are not acceptable (IfD is subordinate to copyright issues). If you did want to keep it, you could add it to an article (maybe Wikipedia might work?) Thanks, JYolkowski // talk 23:41, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
