Question[edit]

Just curious, why did you revert this edit.? Thanks - wolf 21:34, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Thewolfchild: Thanks for asking. I reverted it due to the external link policy, more specifically WP:ELPOINTS rule 2:

With rare exceptions, external links should not be used in the body of an article. Instead, include appropriate external links in an "External links" section at the end of the article, and in the appropriate location within an infobox, if applicable.

Howver, I probably should have turned the link into a ref instead of reverting the edit and warning the user. Again, thank you for your time. Opal|zukor(discuss) 06:29, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Revision[edit]

Hello. I updated a citation on the article on the Maquis Star Trek page to more accurately reflect the source being cited; the name of the author, the date it was written, the name of the website. This was a simple tidy-up, but it made the citation (to my eye) a lot neater and easier to read? I apologise if I got some code wrong - although it didn't appear wrong to my eye in the published revision - but would it be possible to reinstate the editted information in a format that you deem more fitting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.19.148.146 (talk) 12:11, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there User:78.19.148.146, and thanks for asking. After reviewing my reversion, I realised that I had made a mistake. I originally reverted it becuase of the change from "website=them0vieblog.com" to "website=The m0vie blog". After reviewing how {{cite web}} works, I realised my mistake. Your edit should be restored and your UW gone. Many apologies for your time. Opal|zukor(discuss) 12:17, 2 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all! I'm on your turf. Thank you for your time and your continued work! comment added by 78.19.148.146

Regarding user warning template changes[edit]

Hi Opalzukor! I noticed that you recently listed {{uw-vandalism1}} and {{uw-disruptive1}} for merging at TfD. Just a heads up: If you plan to make a possibly breaking change with warning templates, please be sure to notify the tools which use the template, such as Twinkle or RedWarn (as taken from both templates' documentation pages), through their respective talk pages (WT:TW and WT:RW, respectively). Thanks, and happy holidays! Chlod (say hi!) 14:27, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Chlod: Many apologies, will do. Happy holidays. Opal|zukor(discuss) 17:26, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Song recordings produced by Lucky Chops requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Happy New Year![edit]

PT Perkebunan Nusantara IX[edit]

If you think this article is for deletion, please feel free, it was my last article I ever wrote, not worse the time, I think there is no contribution appreciated.

If my article, in which I only intended to summarize a short history and the branches of an important Indonesian state-owned company is worth for delete, so thousand of others are e.g. PT Perusahaan Perkebunan London Sumatra Indonesia

Im still a beginner, but there was zero support, if an article is not sufficient to any rules, others would call this little ..., I am sorry, but seems to me political and personal reasons are more important than simple facts.

I could start a deletion orgy now, but as I stated, not worse the time ...

"Welcome ! I hope you like the place and decide to stay" was just a joke as well as happy new year good bye Joachim Lutz (talk) 14:30, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Joachim Lutz: If you would like to contest the deletion of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IX, please remove the PROD tag. Thereafter, I shall take this matter to AfD. Thank you for your time. Opal|zukor(discuss) 22:06, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Smokers Die Younger (2nd nomination). Thank you. (I didn't create the report, this is just a courtesy notification) --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:00, 7 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I've noticed that the copyvio tag you but on this article hasn't been addressed since - what is the best way of resolving this? I'm afraid that these sort of Irish articles don't get a lot of attention, so the tag could be there a very long time! Smirkybec (talk) 16:35, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Smirkybec: That's a reasonable concern. I'm hoping that an admin (or another volunteer) will see the article on WP:Copyright problems, and deal with it from there. However, the page seems to have a massive backlog. The only option seems to be waiting. Opal|zukor(discuss) 10:51, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Can I ask how you assessed the article? Using Earwig, the results seem to point to strange mirroring site, and not the site of the RIAI. Smirkybec (talk) 20:07, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Smirkybec: I see. This is very peculiar. I'm still inclined to believe that the removed content had a promotional phrasing; but when I run the diffs through Earwig, nothing seems to show up. Opal|zukor(discuss) 21:13, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I just realised; the only "copyvio" content was 1 or 2 sentences; copied directly. The content is technically still copied, but it is questionable whether it's an actual copyright issue. Thanks for bringing my attention to this matter. Opal|zukor(discuss) 21:15, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just hoping to see it resolved :) I've been working on some Irish architecture and architects articles, so I've been linking to this article a bit - it's on my long list of articles to expand and improve at some point! Smirkybec (talk) 21:28, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I made some suggestions on the article talk page talk:Hiya (company). Could you look at them? And if you agree with them, can you implement them? Mferr1986 (talk) 19:19, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bug with menus?[edit]

Hi there! I've had a certain bug for a while now: Any time I click a [show] button to open a menu, or try to open a drop-down menu, it just refuses to display. I assume this error is because of some user script (for reference, here's my common.js); however, I can't really tell which one. Have any other users faced this kind of error before, and can I take any approach other than just randomly deleting user scripts? Opal|zukor(discuss) 13:15, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Does the problem persist when you log out? 78.28.44.31 (talk) 14:06, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please post your technical issue at Village pump (technical). There are a lot of technical eyes watching that page, and you are more likely to find a quick answer there — Maile (talk) 18:49, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, it doesn't, hence why I believe that it's a bug with my user scripts. Thanks, Opal|zukor(discuss) 20:58, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

chokeslam[edit]

So, I corrected information without a source because my own experience is the source. The article erroneously stated that Paul Heyman invented the move for 911 in ECW, which would have been in 1994. As the article stated, Akira Taue was already using a version of the move prior to this. I simply added that Sid Vicious (also known in WWF as Sid Justice) was using the move for years before 911 had done so in ECW. Here is a clip of Sid doing the move in his WWF debut match from 1991, though he'd already been using it even earlier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=112&v=9KUt8ET8z14 173.245.157.29 (talk) 22:17, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
