New stub template

[edit]

Hi - We over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting have just discovered your new stub template {{military-bio-stub}}. Normally, stub categories are created after a process of proposal and debate at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Criteria, to ensure that the meet the requirements for a new stub category - such as not cutting cross the current category hierarchy, having a viable number of stub articles (a mininmum of 60-100), and not being covered by any current categories. Your new stub has been listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Criteria#Film-bio-stub and Military-bio-stub.

As it is, there should be no problem with the number of articles in this category, or with the category, but if you're planning to make any more stub categories, we'd like to know first! Thanks, Grutness...wha? 08:53, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Posting this to you because I found some more recent vandalism by this guy, but am not as Wiki-savvy as I could be, and don't know what to do about persistent vandalism. — Bill 02:06, 18 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RFA

[edit]

I noticed you self-nominated yourself on RFA. However, out of courtesy, I want to let you know that you didn't quite follow the exact instructions listed on WP:RFA#Self nominations for adminship. So you might want to correct it before more voters see it... Zzyzx11 (Talk) 02:31, 19 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"Whinges"

[edit]

Hello there,

I note that you made a couple of small edits to my user page on 15th May. Correcting "hypen" to "hyphen" was fine and useful, but you also changed my subtitle "Moans and whinges" to "Moans and whines". I've since changed it back, because "whinges" (pronounced with a soft G) is a perfectly correct word in British English (it's also used in Australia). Loganberry 14:25, 23 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations!

[edit]

Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia | explains it all ® 03:14, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the congratulations. :) OvenFresh² 03:19, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I'm pleased you made it! T'was a close call for me, too. Congrats! :) El_C 03:24, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Article

[edit]

I notice you speedy deleted Sheila Diane Scaiff (I nominated it). However, it still has a talk page, Talk:Sheila Diane Scaiff. Could you delete that too please. Mindmatrix 20:52, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've deleted that too. Thanks for the reminder. :) OvenFresh² 20:54, 28 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Flatulance

[edit]

Heya, may I ask why you reverted this? It seemed like a reasonable enough addition.

Congrats on your adminship by the way! --W(t) 01:54, 2005 May 29 (UTC)

Oh, sorry. I noticed the introduction of "Ssecurity" to one of the paragraphs, and I disapproved of the changes made to the headers, so I assumed the edit was made in bad faith. I'll be more careful from now on.
And thanks! :) OvenFresh² 02:05, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

why did you revert the farticle?

[edit]

You restored a paragraph that I cut because it was in the article TWICE. 70.177.90.39 01:58, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Template: Helpout

[edit]

Hello. I am in the process of orphaning the obsolete Template:Helpout, per WP:TfD (see vote); since you had the template in a page of your user space, I have taken the liberty to replace the template call {{Helpout}} with the corresponding code from the template to be deleted. Cheers. Phils 09:25, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

deleting, not replacing

[edit]

You changed the wording of the vote while the vote was in progress. I have to guess this was done in good faith, but Angela has objected. So I changed it back, okay? :-) Uncle Ed 21:29, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

User Categorisation

[edit]

You were listed on the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Canada#Nova_Scotia page as living in or being associated with Nova Scotia. As part of the Wikipedia:User categorisation project, these lists are being replaced with user categories. If you would like to add yourself to the category that is replacing the page, please visit Category:Wikipedians in Nova Scotia for instructions.--Rmky87 04:57, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to see you gone...

Um, your vote at Wikipedia:Eleventy-billion_pool#2006 is up! Sorry you have been gone for so long, even as to pass up this opportunity on February 7 to see your vote turnover on the Eleventy-billion pool. Have a great day :) garybrimley 07:06, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The zOMG Barnstar
I award this zOMG Barnstar to Oven Fresh for coming closest to winning the Millionth Topic Pool, even though he did it by cheating.

  • Ummm... You do realize that his edit just contains the variables CURRENTDAY, CURRENTMONTH, etc... right? It changes every day. It just displays the current date.... — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-2 03:38

Fair use images

[edit]

I've taken the liberty of commenting your subpage at User:Oven Fresh/Console game, as it contains fair use images, which are not allowed on user pages, and you appear to be inactive. If you are not inactive, I apologize. Pagrashtak 06:25, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Get-1.gif

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Get-1.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Spam blacklist

[edit]

I removed one link from your userpage[1] because it is on the spam blacklist which prevents spam links from adding to pages. The page I was trying to save was blocked by the spam filter when the link was being added or existing to that page. See m:Spam blacklist. -- ADNghiem501 22:36, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Captain_Olimar_OF.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
