Speedy deletion nomination of Camidoh

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Camidoh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hog Farm (talk) 20:46, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi Hog Farm,

The subject matter that you have tagged for deletion has significant coverage in third party news sources in Ghana and the USA. It meets the basic notability criteria for English Wikipedia which is 3 or more independent news sources should have written about it. A quick Google search of the subject would show his significance with regards to Music in Ghana. I believe you should revisit the speedy deletion tag. Thank You.

Owula kpakpo (talk) 22:28, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

@Owula kpakpo: (fix ping Hog Farm (talk) 02:16, 30 January 2020 (UTC)) I'm finding coverage, but not coverage in reliable sources, we have to have coverage in sources that are reliable (I'm finding coverage in music blogs and sharing sites mostly, not reliable sources). Please read WP:RS for more on that. (Also, if I'm wrong and the speedy deletion tag gets declined, I'll apologize to you here, although it may take awhile for me to see that the CSD was declined). Thanks for editing! Hog Farm (talk) 02:15, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi Celestina007,

Can you point me to where the discussion is being had so I can make my inputs as to why this article should not be deleted. I believe once the person who put the tag realized there has been an error in judgement I believe it shouldn't be a problem now. But I would await your directions on the way forward.

Thank you. Owula kpakpo (talk) 18:54, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Apology

User:Owula kpakpo,

I was very hasty in applying an A9 tag to an article you recently created (Camidoh). In hindsight, I the CSD tagging was a very bad move on my part. I'm still not 100% convinced that the article passes WP:MUSICBIO, but I have removed the speedy deletion tag and I'm not going to take it to PROD or AFD or anywhere. My very sincere apologies on this, I recognize that I made bad choices on this. Hog Farm (talk) 02:22, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi Hog Farm,

Thanks for understanding my point of view.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Michael Aboya, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Hi Praxidicae,

Unfortunately I read the article again and I don't see where the promotional content you talk about can be seen. I recognize that this article has been deleted before but as an experienced editor I left a note with the first person who deleted which was some two years ago. I believe with new information which shows the subject is indeed notable so I don't get it why it should be deleted.

Ways to improve Nana Tafregya Pallbearers

Hello, Owula kpakpo,

Thank you for creating Nana Tafregya Pallbearers.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

As it stands, this looks like a case of WP:ONEEVENT. Please show coverage of the subject separate from the meme that went viral.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Sulfurboy}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.
