Speedy deletion nomination of S t e a m P U N N K: Shades of Gray
[edit]Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as S t e a m P U N N K: Shades of Gray, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of S t e a m P U N N K
[edit]The article S t e a m P U N N K has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable series of stories.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ttonyb1 (talk) 04:01, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from S t e a m P U N N K: Shades of Gray, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Edison (talk) 04:16, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
S t e a m P U N N K: Shades of Gray
[edit]That's great that you are writing a book. You should probably read WP:COI and WP:OR before creating an article on the subject. The "hoax" tag is due to the fact that the book is currently unwritten. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks! Plastikspork (talk) 04:31, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- As you pointed out to Plastikspork, the first book in the series remains un-written at this point. Therefore, I have deleted S t e a m P U N N K as WP:CSD#G11. Once the book is released and becomes a success then an article can be written about it. Please remember that Wikipedia is not an advertising venue. Thanks. Self-aggrandizement
[edit]If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article S t e a m P U N N K, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at S t e a m P U N N K. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:01, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
