ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open![edit]

Hello, DanielGSouza. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reference errors on 19 December[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:21, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

thank you![edit]

Thank you for adding the IMDB box to Helena Ignez's page! I didn't know how! I'm working on translating/improving a lot of the Cinema Marginal pages into English, hope to get some solid citations soon Haun0011 (talk) 19:09, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Marília Gabriela has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 00:08, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 14[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Salvador Flores Rivera, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Luis Aguilar. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:54, 14 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted[edit]

Hi DanielGSouza, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Swarm 21:21, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Adriana Janacópulos[edit]

Hi DanielGSouza, I am beginning a clumsy translation of Adriana Janacópulos for the Women in Red contest. I see you have written an article on her sister Vera Janacópulos, and don't want to continue on Adriana's article if you are planning to do an article. At your convenience, could you let me know? Thanks WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 18:30, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem; feel free to do it. DanielGSouza (talk) 19:01, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

José Mentor Guilherme de Mello image[edit]

Dear Daniel G Souza,

I recently noticed that the Portuguese language article pt:José_Mentor_Guilherme_de_Mello has an image of the man, and that this is not present on English language wikipedia page José Mentor Guilherme de Mello.

It struck me as potentially useful to add to the English language wikipedia's infobox. But I have not a clue how to do that.

With your interest in things Brazilian - I wondered if you could assist?

Regards

Icarusgeek (talk) 16:08, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Icarusgeek.

It seems that image is of restricted use for Portuguese Wikipedia. It couldn't be used on English wikipedia, because it's not free licensed, but there is another free license picture of the subject in Commons. The quality isn't great, but maybe it suits for the article.

All the best. DanielGSouza (talk) 18:38, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Daniel G Souza,
Oh that's brilliant. Obviously not the fact that that particular image wasn't available, but that you identified another that was - and also put it in the article.
Thank you and good luck with your on-going Brazilian article population

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wakanda (comics), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page East African (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi. I just saw your edit to this page at [1]. It's a good edit, but the page is bot-updated daily, so when the bot runs tomorrow it will overwrite the change, I'm afraid. The bot uses the trend that obituaries tend to have the subject's name at the start of the title, which mostly works, but in this case the title isn't standard, and the bot has no idea which words are names and which aren't. The page is only meant to help people find articles that need creating/updating, so errors like this aren't too worrying - more worrying are the redlinks that would be correct if the article existed. ;-) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 21:58, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Paul Singer (economist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - FlightTime (open channel) 17:29, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in study[edit]

Hello,

I am E. Whittaker, an intern at Wikimedia with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview.
