ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:32, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have no connection to Rhiannon Giddens or any organization that does work for her. I'm simply an avid fan who is retired and has too much free time on his hands. Since early 2016, first out of curiosity and now out of habit, I have performed a daily Google search on Giddens just to see what she's up to. It's part of my daily routine: I check email, financial markets, sports, hard news, and then Rhiannon Giddens. I've read just about every article, interview, and social media post, listened to every podcast, and watched every video related to Giddens in the last 8 years. I even stumbled across a Master's thesis that somebody posted online about Black folk music which cleared up some chronological confusion I had about the Sankofa Strings and the Carolina Chocolate Drops (they were founded months apart and operated simultaneously). So, if it looks like I know an inordinate amount about Giddens, it's likely true. Anything mentioned publicly about her is probably embedded in my brain somewhere. Unfortunately, at my age, I can't seem to focus on Wikipedia's entry formatting and syntax without confusing details about the content I'm posting. Consequently, I keep making mistakes like listing the wrong year for awards. Actually, Covid screwed everything up. I haven't gotten over the 2020 Olympics being held in 2021. Anyway, it may be time for me to give up posting. Root thing (talk) 20:15, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No need to stop posting, keep at it. Minor things can be easily fixed, we all make oopses. Thank you for the interest and dedication.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 00:41, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
