Analyzing User Page[edit]

What are you requesting about analyzing your user page? I don't understand. Robert McClenon (talk) 21:15, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm currently making the page for good admins, that can actually set up my user page. --Tarkattack (talk) 17:16, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

December 2015[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Pickette. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Eurovision Song Contest 2016 without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I have restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Pickette (talk) 13:45, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Issues[edit]

Please don't post threatening messages on my talk page in caps. It's rude and uncalled for. I've removed your message. Pickette (talk) 11:35, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

User page[edit]

Please review WP:UPNOT in regards to your user page. You have an excessive amount of unrelated content on that page. Pickette (talk) 17:48, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A section on your userpage implies that you are being paid or would accept being paid to edit Wikipedia? I do not understand. --allthefoxes (Talk) 00:01, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on User talk:Pickette. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Mkdwtalk 08:25, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Wes Mouse  10:52, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user page at User:Tarkattack may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively you may add {{Db-u1}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline. Wikipedia is about constructive contribution to articles. Using your user space as a hosting site for fictional contests is a serious offence and such content should be removed immediately. Wes Mouse  11:15, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As has already been pointed out to you, Wikipedia user pages are not to be used to play host to fictional song contests or the like – see WP:UPNOT. Furthermore, it is highly inappropriate to use the names of other editors in this fictional contest without their consent, which you have clearly not obtained. I have to say, after reviewing your edits, I'm not convinced that you are here to build an encyclopedia. While you have made some edits to the mainspace, none are particularly constructive. If you wish to demonstrate that you are here to build an encyclopedia, then remove all the fictional content from your userpage. If you don't, myself or another editor will likely remove it for you shortly, as such content clearly violates WP:UPNOT. CT Cooper · talk 13:13, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Eurovision Song Contest 2016, you may be blocked from editing. Wes Mouse  08:53, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User page deadline[edit]

You have been asked to remove inappropriate content from your userpage. Said content being inappropriate as it i) suggests editors are engaging in activities which they are not and ii) violates WP:UPNOT which prohibits "Extensive writings and material on topics having virtually no chance whatsoever of being directly useful to the project, its community, or an encyclopedia article." and "Games, roleplaying sessions, secret pages and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia". Such activities are generally frowned upon by the community." You appear to have ignored these requests, therefore, I am now setting a deadline: you have one week to remove the offending content. If you fail to meet this deadline, I will remove the content for you. Taking responsibility for the proper management of your user page will put you in good standing with myself and other editors here, but the choice is yours. CT Cooper · talk 18:47, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Moving pages[edit]

What the hell are you thinking moving my own user page from Wesley Mouse to Wes Mouse? You have no right to do that, and your actions can be sanctioned by blocks. And don't even think of lying your way and saying you never page moved my own user space, as the evidence is here and here. You have one hell of a nerve and its about time you started to learn some rules around this place. Wes Mouse  19:32, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Moving other editor's user pages[edit]

Hello,

Firstly, thank you for deleting the offending content from your user page. However, I don't know what you were thinking with this. An editor's main user page (e.g. User:Example) and user talk page (e.g. User talk:Example) must only be re-named when their user account is also re-named, otherwise it causes disruption and confusion. User accounts can only be re-named by bureaucrats, global renamers, and stewards, and they will generally only re-name an account on the owner's request. You had no business attempting to re-name Wesley Mouse, and you should not be editing or re-naming other people's user pages in general without a good reason (a good reason would include removing content that violates policy) – please review WP:UPOWN. I note that you swiftly reversed the page move, which was the right call, but nevertheless, please do not do this again. CT Cooper · talk 19:51, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Liechtenstein and the euro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your new user page[edit]

Much of the new content which has appeared on your userpage, such as the material related to the "Indonesian Contribution Contest" and "Indonesian Broadcasting Union", appear to be works of fiction/games/roleplaying sessions in progress, which breach WP:UPNOT. I note that an earlier version of this page once again used editor's names without their consent. You have been warned multiple times on this already, so I am removing all the offending content immediately. If this or similar content re-appears on your userpage in the near future, I will re-remove it and then block your account, so please think twice before doing this again. CT Cooper · talk 22:05, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The warning above was very clear, yet you decided to ignore it. I note that you later removed the content, but I'm not playing games with you here, so that does not excuse you. You therefore leave me no choice:

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for persistently using your user page for the hosting of inappropriate content in violation of WP:UPNOT, despite multiple warnings. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  CT Cooper · talk 21:00, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, I am protecting your user page for one month from now. The protection will therefore remain in place for some time after your block expires, in order to deter you from adding any inappropriate content. If you wish to make reasonable changes to your user page, then please propose them here, after the block has expired. CT Cooper · talk 21:07, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Last chance[edit]

You were recently blocked for abusing multiple accounts, due to your use of the Tarkspark (talk · contribs) account while blocked. However, following discussion with the blocking admin, I have undone this block as I had already dealt with the issue and had informed you that I would not be taking further action. I'm giving you another chance as you have made some productive edits, but I'm going to be very clear here: this is your last chance. Any further trouble from you, of any kind, will result in an indefinite block. If you want to remain unblocked, then things you must not do include but are not limited to, no longer misusing your user page, not making disruptive test edits like this, and not engaging in uncivil behaviour as you did here and here. If you are unsure about something, you are welcome to leave a message here or on my talk page. For example, I could have told you that if you wanted to make test edits, you could use the sandbox or your own one. Alternatively, there is also a help desk for this king of thing. I hope you don't throw this last chance away. CT Cooper · talk 15:46, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

February 2016[edit]

For the record, I endorse this block. Aside from the now apparent sock puppetry issues, a last chance is a last chance, and it was exhausted today. CT Cooper · talk 19:54, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I'm not affected as a sockpuppet of Dan9122. Tarkattack (talk) 10:43, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Unblocking an editor with an extensive history of childish disruptive editing and "last chances" will not benefit the project. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 15:03, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
