Style
[edit]Hey! You're doing great work on Su Shi etc. Here are a few things I've noticed from your recent edits:
- Section headings (and article titles) on Wikipedia are written in sentence case (Early life and education, not in title case (Early Life and Education; even though it's called title case)
- Some of your edits about figures seem to include so-called "purple prose", which is mostly contrary to an encyclopedic tone.
- When you add Chinese-language text to an article, either characters or romanization, it's important to tag it as such, for accessibility and other reasons. You can learn how to do this on the section of our Manual of Style related to Chinese-language text and China-related articles.

- Appreciate the comments! I'll work on that in the next few weeks. TheIntrospectorsfacts (talk) 22:43, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

- User:TheIntrospectorsfacts, I'm just going to add that you do have good editorial skills (based on a brief review of your contributions to "Chinese Mythology"). Also, just now looking at your Talk page -- in terms of creating articles relating to China (at least), I suggest just to create the article. Going through the Articles for Creation is unnecessary, and China related articles tend to be deprecated. I looked at your Dong Dong Yuhui draft: for a Start class article I do not see fault. Me, being completely clueless about Dong Yuhui (which is the point of having encyclopedic articles -- to be able to look stuff up), I did a quick search: yahoo!finance has an article Meet China's new live-streaming e-commerce star: an English-language tutor who lost his off-campus teaching job. An e-commerce star! Wikipedia is worse off without an article about:
- You're awesome! Happy editing. — Remsense诉 23:13, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- "China's unlikely new live-streaming e-commerce star is 29-year-old Dong Yuhui, an erudite, former off-campus English-language tutor who now pitches a range of goods online, from books and cooking pans to steaks, shrimp and everyday groceries."
- This is not my personal area of interest, but I would like to be able to look up information on Chinese e-commerce stars that invokes such "purple prose" praise from yahoo!finance -- in case myself or someone else becomes interested. As much as I am a fan of older, white, european-ancestry males and acknowledge the many encyclopedic notabilities, en.Wikipedia cannot be said to be without systemic bias.
- Also, I suggest that you create your User page, so that you look more of a part of Wikipedia, at least enough so that your User name is not always in red.
- Anyway, do as you wish. Cheers and happy editing!
- And, if you do just post up the article, bypassing Articles for Creation, remember to blame

- Thanks for the feedback. It's encouraging and informative to hear from peers. I threw in the Dong Yuhui page in as a test-water experiment. However, I disapproved my own submission after going through Wiki rules and after reading samples of featured articles. I shift back to edit existing articles on China which are abundant and will keep me occupied and engaged for the time being.:) TheIntrospectorsfacts (talk) 19:51, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- I have revamped the page Dong Yuhui by trimming down unnecessary details and removing peacock words. Would you please take a look and provide feedback on this version. TheIntrospectorsfacts (talk) 20:45, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
