Unapologetic

Hey, just wanted to say sorry for reverting that edit of yours on Unapologetic. I was on my iPad, and I'm pretty sure it was an edit conflict that I ended up reverting the wrong one. So no hard feelings :)?--(CA)Giacobbe (talk) 02:01, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

No hard feelings of course. You just surprised me. Cheers! :) — Tomíca(T2ME) 09:40, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

World Diamonds Tour....

I don't usually bother too much with people's opinions on AfD, but you seem to think that my usage of CRYSTAL is wrong, and I'm not sure you actually read WP:CRYSTAL yourself. It clearly states that "dates are not definite until the event takes place." Therefore, as the tour starts in March 2013 (which you freely admit), how do you also claim this has taken place? I just don't see how you can claim two opposing views at the same time. MSJapan (talk) 04:10, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Not Even the King

Hey Tomica, I was just wondering do you think this is worthy of being an article? I was going to publish it but I think it needs more work. I just want another opinion :)lolArre 11:08, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Wow it's pretty good. You amaze me Arre :D but really. The article is awesome. I would just suggest you to wait and see if the song will chart (probably will in South Korea) so people don't shit how the song is not notable, because it didn't chart it. But I would support again it if you publish it now :)! — Tomíca(T2ME) 11:20, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! Yea, that's what I was thinking. I'll wait for additional reviews from the album and see if the song charts. Thankyou for your input! Arre 11:30, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Anytime. Finally someone who cares about Alicia's articles. They are mess tbh:). And I like "Girl on Fire", but still wondering how could she put the Inferno remix (featuring the awful Nicki Minaj) as main version in the album :O! :P — Tomíca(T2ME) 11:33, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Haha yes, I love Alicia! Yea they are a mess. The inferno version is okay, but I prefer the main/bluelight. I was hoping she would add them to the album. Yea....Nicki Minaj:p taking my Queen's leftover chair for next year's train-wreck season of Idol. Hehe. Arre 11:38, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Hehehe. Tbh, my favorite is the bluelight remix. It's simply awesome, should have been the original version according to me :P. Do you think the album will be 1 in the US? I hope so :) ! — Tomíca(T2ME) 11:42, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
The bluelight version is so beautiful and raw. But only music lovers appreciate it. Yes I am confident about that! Alicia always pulls strong numbers even though she has been dropping each album. I hope she does atleast above 300k. But I'm nervous after seeing Christina's first-week sales of Lotus :Lyikes Arre 11:48, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I was talking about the same thing with Status yesterday. Lotus only 85k :S that's really low week of sales, but still it's set to debut at 5, so with those sales that's a good number. I am happy for Unapologetic though, it will probably debut at 1 with sales of over 260k, finally a number one for my diva! ;) Alicia will pull it too, I am sure. — Tomíca(T2ME) 11:59, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I thought 'Lotus' did 73k and will debut at 7? Hmm 85k & #5 is pretty good! Yes, Rihanna deserves a No.1 album after such a long time Lol. Even though I like Loud and Talk That Talk better than Unapol. But after this she needs to take a bigger gap between albums. Arre 12:22, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Well, I like Loud more, but Unapologetic is better than Talk That Talk according to me. Not that the songs on TTT were bad, they were good indeed, but they didn't flow good as were of different genres and different themes, on Unapologetic they are like story :). — Tomíca(T2ME) 12:27, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I usually start out like 'oh another Rihanna album ugh' but I always ended up buying them..Lol. I have all of them except AGLM.. I just like TTT better because it's a really good pop/dance album. But Loud is def the best out of all. Do you have any suggestions for good songs on Unapologetic? I wanna listen to some but I just can't haha..I need recommendations. Arre 12:31, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Hehehe. Well, I guess you only heard the snippets which were most of them bad tbh. Well here are the top ones (according to me of course): "Phresh Out the Runway", "Diamonds" (you already know this one... DYK: Today it picked at number one in the US), "Pour It Up", "Loveeeeee Song", "Jump", "Right Now", "Stay" (there's a link to the perfo, it's awesome), "Nobody's Business" and "Half of Me"... I am sure I forgot some song, nearly all of them are awesome. Try it :P ! — Tomíca(T2ME) 12:51, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes I know about Diamonds:). Watching 'Stay' right now, her singing is amazing there! I've only listened to 'Nobody's Business' 'Diamonds' and 'Right Now' so far (well, those are the ones I remember; I've previewed the whole album). Is it just me or has Rihanna lost a lot of weight? Arre 12:59, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Btw, I was thinking of publishing Not Even the King. Hopefully it won't be nominated for deletion; she has performed it live, has a lyric video, etc, that's enuff right? Anyway, are u good at uploading music samples? Arre 13:01, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Well, yeah she kind of lost a lot of weight, but she is still sexy :P. And if there's a lyric video and live performances I think you can publish the article. I will defend it if someone brings it to AfD. Later DYK maybe? :P And I am bad at samples tbh, other users upload them for me hh. — Tomíca(T2ME) 13:12, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Unapologetic reviews

Not a preference or POV issue (I personally like this album), just that the template's existence in general has been questioned by other reputed editors of album articles at Template talk:Album ratings, along with the "favorable"/"unfavorable" entries, so a comprimise would be keeping the ratings template with actual/technical ratings/scores. Also, Billboard is a trade magazine for the music industry, and they usually rate albums higher than other professional critics (Metacritic's profile of them). As for the entry in the ratings template, I usually use the ratio/percentage of "favorable"/"unfavorable"/"mixed" reviews from either Metacritic or AnyDecentMusic? and use that to model the template. In short, undue weight to a positive review and that it's not a score to begin with is why I removed it. As of now, there are five positive scores in the template, while Metacritic shows 6 out of 15 being positive, or 40% and 4 out of 10, so the ratings template right now is pretty generous believe it or not. Sorry if this was a bit long. Dan56 (talk) 12:37, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Honestly, the most usable commentary/quotes seem to be "Rihanna's most confident, emotionally resonant work since 2009's "Rated R", or "showcase Rihanna's voice in ways the listener hasn't heard before", which seem pretty generic; what ways are not really explained/elaborated on, and "confident, emotionally resonant" seems to already be a point of commentary covered by the NYtimes and Rolling Stone quotes, but in a bit more depth. I also expect a few more notable reviewers that might ultimately replace it if it's included, like Spin or The Village Voice. Just want to be conservative. Dan56 (talk) 13:02, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I hope they be more positive too. Then Metacritic's score would make more sense. Dan56 (talk) 13:17, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

"Diamonds" chart performance

I expect you to make a very good chart performance section with this!. AARONTALK 12:59, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Sure I will write it. Yaikkkss I am so happy, can you believe it she is tied with Madonna?:) — Tomíca(T2ME) 13:12, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Yeah... because she is so much better than Madonna lol AARONTALK 13:19, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Indeed, but the fact is that Madonna is actually a pop icon, so :P ! — Tomíca(T2ME) 13:30, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Meh, was. Lol. Btw: Don't like Phresh off the Runway, like Diamonds, don't like Numb. AARONTALK 13:32, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I like Phresh, but I agree for Numb, don't like it. I love Stay and No Love Allowed. — Tomíca(T2ME) 13:33, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Haven't got that far. I had an iPhone problem lol. AARONTALK 13:34, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Lol, I have listened to the album more than 10 times. Haha. It's my jam these days :P !— Tomíca(T2ME) 13:35, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I really like Stay and Half Of Me. AARONTALK 13:54, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Do you guys see any potential for other following hit singles? I listened and don't think really any others are that strong :/--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:12, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

And while I don't like Madonna (at all) she has done 100x more for pop culture and music in general than Riahnna. #1's or not. There is really no comparison.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:13, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Some(one) "confirmed" "Right Now" as second single from the album, I see tbh, "Phresh Out the Runway", "Jump", "Nobody's Business" and "Love Song" I guess, although I expect her to release "Stay" too. Some of these according to me. And you can't compare them when "what she has done about the pop culture" comes in question, because Madonna is more than 30 years on the music scene and she is an icon. Rihanna is only seven years and broke numerous records. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:15, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes, but "records" only fueled by social/digital media. Nowadays anyone can gain success... And "Right Now" is probably the worst dance song she's done so WTF is she doing... :/--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:18, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I don't agree that is her worst, maybe is a classic Guetta, but not the worst thing she has ever done. According to me this album is way better than TTT, which just used random hits in a package. This is a story and I love that. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:24, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Not worst ting. Worst dance song lol. And yes, Rihanna and Katy Perry >>>>>>>> Kesha. Hate her Lol. But Riri doesn't dance Tommy... And even when her singing is "on", it's Not impressive. This is impressive singing ;)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:31, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I agree Nathan I think the Guetta songs are quite poor. To be honest, I think the album is very average. This is the result of churning out 4 albums in consecutive years, just average forgettable songs. I like about 3 songs on this album. There is no substance behind it at all. It's like Talk That Talk wasn't only havf good because she had squeezed recording in, and this album is IMO only a quarter good. I don't really know if any of the other sings are viable for success tbh. Stay is the second best song to Diamonds. I'm really disappointed with this album. AARONTALK 17:36, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Yup. "Diamonds" is nice, but I don't see a long future for the album. No "other" #1 singles, no chart longevity. Nada :/ It's like a bunch of filler aside from like 4 songs. BTW, the Eminem song is a total waste, they could have done SO much better. Same goes for Guetta. And LOL at the fact that Riri is trying to start slapping her name on a few songwriting credits. Haha get that money!--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 22:41, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

I will ignore this and just say That Rihanna reign just won't let up ;) !— Tomíca(T2ME) 08:52, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

HAHAHA

You won the bet!! :PPP Shame in the second week the song will drop to like #7 LOL. I bought a Diamonds lighter for the occasion ;)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:10, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Not such a hater. I'm a realist. Trust me, I'm Mariah's biggest critic lol. And I told you, I like a lot of her music, I just find her talent "questionable". Although her singing on SNL was great (for her standards).--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:20, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Watch this and tell me if you've ever heard a voice like that :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 16:34, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I wouldn't call what Rihanna ever does "dancing". What Britney, Michael, Beyonce and even Bieber do is dancing. Not booty shaking or strutting lol. And what do you mean biased links? They are some her of really good performances in her prime :) Lastly this one is probably more your style. Check this one out, it shows a lot of technique and a good pop song.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 17:31, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Mariah and Whitney have always been superior vocalists that Celine. That's like pretty much a fact lol. But she's my third fave BTW :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 22:39, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Mariah, Whitney and Celine have always been regarded as the three most supreme female vocalists of all time. It's just personal preference who people like. AARONTALK 22:42, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Completely agree, but I find Celine to be third place by all standards (if you have ears for music and vocals).--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 22:43, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
I agree with Aaron. My personal order would be #1 Celine, #2 Whitney, #3 Mariah. — Tomíca(T2ME) 22:44, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Mariah, then Celine, then Whitney for me. Mariah will always be the #1 female voice. There was no one before her, and there hasn't been anyone since her debut, who can do what she does, vocally and as a songwriter/producer. (Whitney and Celine don't write their own songs either ;-).) AARONTALK 22:47, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Haha, Mariah, Whitney and then Celine for me :) and I completely agree with everything Aaron said! It looks like you're outmatched Tommy! :P--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 06:37, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
