Re: Mexico/AM frequency tables[edit]

But is the IFT location data properly licenced for us to use? -- Denelson83 20:29, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

@Denelson83: The IFT is the Mexican equivalent of the FCC, so it should be usable. The Coverage Viewer itself is located at http://mapasradiodifusion.ift.org.mx. Raymie (tc) 20:32, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Well, it's a different country. Data from the US federal government is automatically PD, but I am not sure about anything sourced from the Mexican government. -- Denelson83 20:33, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
@Denelson83: I'll note I've been making extensive use of the data on FM and TV articles and lists. The user's manual mentions nothing about rights. Raymie (tc) 20:37, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Well, I myself don't want to risk adding the data and then being told by someone else that I have violated copyright on the data and have to remove it. I can at least add the data for the Mexican clear-channel stations, as the FCC database has all of those. -- Denelson83 20:40, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
@Denelson83: I appreciate that concern, but I think this would be fine. I haven't had issues yet, and hundreds of articles are already using info from the Coverage Viewer and publicly available documents. Raymie (tc) 20:45, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
