Disambiguation link notification for June 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Carolyn Mackenzie (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
added a link pointing to Edward R. Murrow Award
Emma Watson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)

External links[edit]

Thank you for your efforts in editing the article Joanna Going. Note however that I have removed a number of external links you added as they did not comply with WP:EL. If you are going to be working with external links in a number of articles then please read the guidelines for external linking. Per EL point #3 "Links in the "External links" section should be kept to a minimum. A lack of external links or a small number of external links is not a reason to add external links" and links to be avoided "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a featured article", stacking database sites in the external links section is not desirable as they can be as easily served by a single link to IMDb. Please let me know if you have any questions. The Teahouse is also a great venue for new users getting started who have questions regarding editing.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots

I've had to remove more of your links. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Mary Helen Bowers. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:10, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also see WP:ELPEREN. Many of the external links you added (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to numerous articles are not appropriate unless those sites are the only web presence for the subject. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:23, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

stop Please stop adding linkspam to the external links sections of articles. If you are unable to determine what is an appropriate link even after it has been explained to you many times (both here, in edit summaries, and by linking to the appropriate guideline) then you should refrain from adding links altogether. To continue to do so is disruptive and may lead to a block of your account.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 19:49, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Veronicamar1234. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. ~Amatulić (talk) 18:10, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/William AAAAA, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
