Your closing [1] didn't record the final tally and close like in for example [2]. PrimeHunter (talk) 14:06, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed it; for your reference it's because RfAs are now counted by a bot on a separate page - you need to subst the RfATally template as you close the RfA (or just type it in manually), otherwise it goes to 0/0/0. Thanks ~ mazca talk 14:39, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your speedy deletion of Thomas Burridge[edit]

I believe your speedy deletion of this article was in error for two reasons. Firstly and most importantly the criteria for A7 clearly state "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source". By your own admission, in the deletion log, there is a claim to significance - "Only claim to notability is as UK's youngest ever Parliamentary candidate". Given his age this is at least a credible claim (especially given the minimium age for an MP was only lowered to 21 a couple of years ago although I wouldn't expect you to know that). The fact that there were "no independent refs" is completely irrelevant in the application of the A7 criteria (as is clearly states in the criteria). Likewise "almost certainly incorrect" does not appear to be a valid criteria. In short I think this article in no way met the A7 criteria and that is while I removed the speedy from it. Indeed this is the second reason why I believe you should not have speedied it as according to the WP:DP#Speedy deletion "If there is a dispute over whether a page meets the criteria, the issue is typically taken to deletion discussions, mentioned below." Although I accept this is not binding I see no compelling reason in this case for you to ignote it.

As it happens I suspect this article wouldn't have survived a prod or afd so am not asking for it to be restored as it doesn't seem worth the effort as the page can always be recreated if neccessary. I do think however the article deserved one of the longer deletion processes so I would appreciate an explanation of your actions. Dpmuk (talk) 17:04, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for admitting you probably made a mistake. I'm a bit of a stickler for the rules on speedies as I once saved a page that had been speedied twice for being nonsense - as it happened I think it had just been written by someone with a poor grasp of English and there were even a few academic articles on the subject. In this case I can also find no reliable sources to support the assertion and given the rather promotional tone of the article it's probably easiest if it's just started again if it is confirmed. Euro voting figures[edit]

Thanks for the reference for the Norwich figures: I've since added figures to the Leeds article. I knew the voting figures per local authority were made public on the night of the count and had wondered where they were available thereafter! PamD (talk) 17:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RFB.[edit]

Hey,

Just in regards to User:Juliancolton's RFB which was closed with no consensus regardless of a (225/67/9) discussion. That is 158 more editors supporting then opposing and looks like clear consensus to me. Can I be so bold to ask your reasoning for this closure and decision? Is there a required percentage that is needed in order for promotion? Thanks!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 00:46, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I see. I thank you greatly for your quick response!--Gordonrox24 | Talk 13:40, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Would you count this vote?[edit]

[3] This is a vote by Keepscases at Tedder's RfA which a lot of people disagree with (Wikipedia talk:Requests for adminship/Tedder). If you were the closing 'crat would you discount this vote? Aditya (talk) 14:15, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I certainly hope not--especially since people seem to be disagreeing with things other than the actual rationale for my vote. Keepscases (talk) 18:27, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your reply. I'm not really looking for a range of views, so I won't post at the Bureaucrats Noticeboard. Your views on this are very reassuring though, and it certainly answered my questions. Again, thank you. Aditya (talk) 12:27, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Saville vs Savile[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you've reverted an anon who changed the spelling of Saville Street in the Wicker Station article. I think that I originally introduced the spelling with a double L. However, on checking OS maps it does appear that the spelling I chose was incorrect. Can you take another look at this. Thanks, —Jeremy (talk) 17:11, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As you'll see, this has fouled up proceedurally. Please could you close it and relist? Thanks --Dweller (talk) 11:24, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cambridge meetup 1 August[edit]

FYI, the fourth Cambridge meetup will occur on the afternoon of Saturday 1 August. Wikimedia UK people are getting a message about this, in the interests of general communicativeness. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:54, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Location Maps[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you created {{Location map United Kingdom Norfolk}}. I need a map for the Norfolk Broads creating for use on List of drainage windmills in Norfolk. I've added all the drainage mills to the Norfolk map and the result is this. I can lose #57 as it was really a pumping mill rather than a drainage mill. Question about quicker categorising[edit]

I'd like to break down Category:Members of the Congress of Deputies (Spain) into sub categories for each parliament. Is there a quick way to do this instead of just manually adding the new category to the individual pages? Valenciano (talk) 08:58, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reply, no I couldn't find anything so in the end I just did it all manually. On the subject though, i set up Category:Member of the Corts Valencianes which should obviously be "Members." Could you move it as I don't have the option to move it myself? Valenciano (talk) 11:22, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cardiff city centre[edit]

Hi,

I wonder if you could move Cardiff City Centre back to Cardiff city centre. A discussion has already taken place on the TalkPage, under Proposed move back to Cardiff city centre...thanks. Seth Whales (talk) 12:40, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
