To upload an image just choose the "Upload file" option from the toolbox. You can then choose which file (in most cases, picture) from your computer you wish to upload. Then there are more instructions there to help you.
Hope that helps. violet/riga (t) 09:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I noticed that you have interacted with User:Griffjam who is currently undergoing an RfA and thought that you might be interested in participating at Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/griffjam. You have received this message without the endorsement of the candidate involved, and this is not a solicitation of support, it is only an effort to make RfA discussions better (for more information see user:ShortJason/Publicity). Thank you in advance for your participation. ShortJason 21:57, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for uploading Image:Alien decoder.PNG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wesmills 03:35, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Excellent, thanks for fixing the copyright on your picture. I thought it a nice addition to the Futurama article, so I would hate to see it go away. Wesmills 19:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I really appreciate your kindness, and I see we are both from PA! You have a very nice user page. I'm probably old enough to be your mom, but we seem to have a few things in common. I may have to steal your Freecell user box, because that is one of my secret obsessions. Shhhh. If I steal anything else, it's your word against mine. --Carolyn4128 04:00, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hey Will, I'm going to retire in a sec, but wanted to say I live in Morrisville, PA. It's across the river from Trenton, NJ. It was named for Robert Morris, whose signature is on the Declaration of Independance. He is known as the financier of the American Revolution. This is quite a small town, but it's full of history and charm. I hope we can chat again soon. If I had to tell you one thing about myself Will, it would be this. What I thought were my most carved in steel, solid as a rock, ideas about life at your age. Well, except for my belief in God, they've all shifted and changed quite a bit. Life and the experiences of living and learning that it's all not so black and white have shown me that apart from knowing that I love God, and He loves me, well, the rest is just a day by day lesson for me to learn from. And the best lessons so far have been in compassion and forgiveness. Carry them with you in your heart every day. For as you give them, you will receive them. Don't worry about being the best, the smartest, and the fastest. Be the greatest you that God could have ever hoped to create. --Carolyn4128 05:08, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks from me as well for the welcome you left on my talk page! Very useful info. Kickaha Ota 21:07, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And another thanks for doing the same for me. Your user page is impressive. How do you put all those categories down the side? Are they self made or are you adding yourself to lists that are somewhere out there in the wikiverse? TimGillespie 21:11, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks for the extended help on userboxes, too! TimGillespie 02:30, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the welcome, it is much appreciated. BTW, I like the boxes on your page. They give others a hint about your POV. Is that common? If so, are they standardised? Curious Observer 05:23, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Veddy much appreciate the welcome and the links that it provides. I felt immediately as if I were somebody (note the use of subjunctive). And - if you ever end up going for that whole "ÜberEditor" thing, you'll have support in this corner. Besides being nice, your work is great. DukeEgr93 03:35, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cross Country Template
[edit]Where did you get all the track and Cross-Country templates? TrackMonkey
I fixed the box. The problem (I think) was that while the image name was in the box, it also still appeared on the page; so the template transcluded the image to below. Anyway, I just deleted the other image link and it works. Holler at me if you need help any time! Teke 04:22, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- This is odd as to why it's not loading, I'm doing some work in my sandbox on it. Teke 04:38, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Here we go, the image is over 200px so it doesn't transclude unless you add "Cover Size". I'm fixin' you up. Happy editing! Teke 04:40, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- It's done, and my pleasure- doing these fixings for people is how I learn markup. Teke 04:44, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are completely revealing who you are on your userpage, which is of course your right. Just out of concern I'd like to mention that this has grown to be one of the most popular english language websites, and you never know what may happen with your personal information. Unless licensed, you are basically releasing yourself to public domain. A heads-up, you never know what can happen on the web. Teke 05:10, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Per The German Solution to userboxes, I'm substituting your boxes. It's pretty cool- the next time you see the boxes they'll be in HTML markup. This is to prevent drain on servers that occurs from templates. Any time you edit to a non-mainspace...er...space use subst: in the brackets, from warnings to welcomes to boxes. Teke 05:23, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I substituted your boxes, check them out now. What substitution does is that the code of the software takes the source template and translates it into HTML on the page. This means that when your browser renders the page, it doesn't have to load the template from a separate part of the server; it reads it in the code. Helps both you and the server. Substitution should not be used in mainspace articles, because of interwiki linking details. Use {{subst:}} if it is in (wow, four two letter words all starting with i) User: or User talk space. Please do not spam others' talk pages; you may want to try using the community portal. NSLE 20:13, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I understand, but in the past, users have been blocked for such. You may, like I suggested, want to advertise it at WP:COMM. NSLE 20:20, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, users have been blocked for such ... and will continue to be! Blocked for 48 hours. --Cyde↔Weys 20:35, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- A bit harsh, and he's agreed to stop, Cyde. Please rescind your block. NSLE 20:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree with NSLE, but I guess I should have read all of the guidelines for Wikipedia. I am still quite new at this, so I did not realize that I was doing wrong, but I guess I will learn my lesson from this. I am sorry to all of those that I have offended. I was only trying to spread the word about the new group I joined. On the page it stated "Attract attention from editors interested in Christianity and Christianity-related topics." I took this to mean inviting people to the group that are interested in Christianity, so I contacted as many people as I could by inviting them on their talk pages. I will try to know and follow the regulations from now on. --WillMak050389 03:21, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please resend your message, and please don't censor my talk page
[edit]I'd be interested to know what you wrote on my talk page! Please resend it. It's certainly not "spam" on my talk page, copies to other users might be but in my case I would like to read the message. In fact I find the censorship of my talk page completely unjustified. I strongly recommend you don't use a template however. Andrewa 01:30, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I cannot resend right now, but I was trying to invite the Christian Wikipedians to WikiProject Christianity because I wanted to spread the word. I did not realize that inviting a large number of Wikipedians, that would be interested in this project, to a group was considered spam. Hope to contact you after my block. --WillMak050389 03:21, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- You wanted to "spread the word"? Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a hunting ground for prosletyzers. If you want to do that go hang out on a busy street corner and shout at passersby. --Cyde↔Weys 17:55, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I believe I mentioned why I wanted to spread the word above. Let's not take this into a talk page war, though. --WillMak050389 19:00, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- G'day William!
- I feel I should apologise for my fellow Wikipedians who have abused and insulted you, and congratulate you on the way you have handled it. And you're still a school student I gather. Good witness, mate. (Yeah, I'm an Aussie.)
- Of course those who are the prosletyzers here are those who have personally decided (as is their right) that Christianity is evil, and therefore feel justified in doing whatever will hinder its (continued but often denied) growth (and this is an abuse of Wikipedia on their part, see below).
- Your post to my user talk page was not spam. I don't know about any others, but this section is about my user page. If you'd been posting about a Wikiproject on model airplanes, in response to my saying on my user page that I was interested in them, there would have been no backlash. The backlash is because some people don't like Christianity.
- The point made above that Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia is of course valid. We can't preach here, that would be an abuse of Wikipedia. Even these comments of mine are here because I hope they will help you to contribute, otherwise, I'd take them to an appropriate forum. See my page at User:Andrewa/creed.
- But we can, and should, work on making the Wikipedia articles on Christianity-related subjects the best we can. And that seems to be what you are doing. I believe that the more people know about Christianity, the more likely they are to accept it. One source of the opposition you are experiencing is that some others see this happening, and they don't like it one bit.
- But sadly, another source of this opposition is that not all Christian Wikipedians have shown the maturity that you have. To say the least! Some of them have been far worse than any opposition to Christianity that I have yet seen (I admit I'm spoiled in this). See the Evangelism Think Tank on one of my personal wikis, and particularly the Jason Gastrich disaster article there. Andrewa 16:33, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think he meant on another wiki, not wikipedia. Thank you. --General456 15:04, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is a good idea to have some idea about the people you are welcoming rather than just randomly picking them you posted a welcome to User:Flameviper12, take a look at his talk page history here, he is a user who has been here for a while and deliberately blanked their talk page to leave, welcoming them makes no sense. --pgk(talk) 17:49, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Brian 19:33, 23 June 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]
What kind of help are you looking for? I've been working with computers for more than 30 years :-) Before there were PCs --- only mainframes. I've worked with a lot of hardware and software: IBM, Tandem, PCs, Macs, Assembly, Fortran, PL/1, C, C++, and more, now things like PHP, HTML, XML ... I'll see if I can help Brian 19:40, 23 June 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]
Yes, that should be a very simple programming task. For me, the only issue is that it either needs to be a tool on a toolbar (probably done in javascript) or a wikibot. I've never done either in Wikipedia (although I do know Javascript - I'd have to learn how to integrate that into Wikipedia). There's probably a place to make this request on the help pages ... I doubt I'll have time for any programming before Autumn. You're welcome to send me more information though ... you can use my email btball@gmail.com Brian 11:11, 24 June 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]
- I sent the modified file back to you via email. Please let me know if it's what you were looking for. I'd be happy to help with similar things - it was pretty easy. I like your idea about CDDB and an infobox --- when I get a little free time I might use that as an excuse to create an infobox. Even though it was shot down at the village pump you can still create your own personal infoboxes :-) Brian 10:15, 26 June 2006 (UTC)btball[reply]
- ok, it's posted. Some of the words either aren't in Wiktionary at all and others don't show as English words. I only checked a few (there's a lot on the list!). Let me know if there's anything else I can help with. If you want a link to the regexp function in Word let me know and I'll send it by email.

License tagging for Image:AllAroundBarnstar.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:AllAroundBarnstar.PNG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:05, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
You're more than welcome. I will always appreciate your warm welcome to me and your friendliness and help and stuff. Hi Will, thanks for your question...in regards to framegrabs you've lucked out having PowerDVD (if it is like the one I have)...there should be a small camera icon in the menu near the play button. Pressing it when the film is playing or paused should capture a frame from the video for you. The default seems to be a clipboard so you'll have to open a program to paste the image in but you can also right click to switch to capturing to a file or other options. If thats not your style there are plenty of freeware desktop capture programs available...
Jarwulf 07:31, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Framegrabbing quality with powerDVD will be fairly low. If you require a high resolution or good quality frame capture it will not be possible without a special video editing card - these cost around £100-£300 (~$170-$550). Print screening during a movie will only produce a solid black (#FFFFFF) image upon pasting. Hope this helps.

I am so, so, so, so sorry about any anti God comments! It was my older brother Wilsoner. He cracked my user password and has been attacking all members of wikiproject christianity. He completely snapped after that priest molested him way back when he was 5 years old about 18 years ago. He's a computer genius. It wasn't me who wrote any of those nasty things to you or your friend, it was Wilsoner. I hope you can forgive him even though he is currently serving a 10 year sentence in a maximum security prison in Moscow, Russia. He shot this guy as a result of a bad drug deal when he was 18 and they wouldn't release him back to the United States. He has already finished half of his time. Again, I am so sorry! I am a self-taught web designer that has a lot to learn about the wiki and wiki markup. I'm a lot better with html. Shannon 06:11, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks
[edit]Thank you for the help Will, I'm sure it will come in hand. I just finished my user page =) Bye Bosoni
Hi, could you please upload an image for the album Welcome to Diverse City by tobyMac? Thank you.--Chili14(Talk|Contribs) 23:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just saying hey and I stole a couple of things from your page. Shannon 00:53, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that you opposed Werdna's RfA on the basis that he was "an uncivil person." I would like to know how you can come to this conclusion based on a) one single quote, and b) one single quote that I can't even see was particularly rude. You stated that you would think about changing your vote "maybe after these disputes pass and attitude is improved." What disputes, specifically, do you think should pass, and what, specifically, is wrong with Werdna's attitude? Rebecca 11:12, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
(Whatever that means?) Thanks for the note. You got a couple of new awards. Did you see them? Bon apple pie. Shannon 18:16, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm quite confident in my request. I believe my tone may convey a sense of weariness in that I'm somewhat discouraged at my recent failures which I think isn't surprising. I think it takes a little out of me everytime I fail one when I really wish to assist the encyclopedia.
I recently recieved an account name change which simply changes my username but I keep all of my contributions and edits in the histories. My edit count is below and I have also copied it to my nomination page:

Can you meet me here? Thanks, Will. Shannon 02:06, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I never did get it fixed. Probably just me and my ineptitude. If you get a chance can you try putting it into your own preferences and trying it there? You're a lot more advanced at this than I am. <font color="003366" face=Verdana>Sha</font><font color="006666" face=Verdana>nnon</font><font color="663366">duck talk</font> 03:55, 11 July 2006 (UTC) LOL - it is so dumb looking.[reply]
Hey there. Thanks. The playbox would be fine.
You're a genius, WillMak! Look. It just needs a little fine tuning now but it works. Shannonduck talk 04:16, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. That was weird. It came out one way in my playbox and it looks so different here on your page. It get stranger all the time. Bugs in the markup, I would guess. Shannonduck talk 04:16, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
