Euskera batua phrases[edit]

Kaixo! Sorry to disturb, but do you think you could take a look at the list of the article Basque-Icelandic pidgin? There are a few phrases missing there, which I would be happy if a native speaker of Basque could revise. Eskerrikasko in advance! / Sappelle-gorre (talk) 08:47, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Done! It's been a pleasure to be helpful. --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 16:47, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Have a quick shufty at the talk page when you get a moment, especially regarding trucka? Akerbeltz (talk) 17:16, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Paul Abasolo[edit]

Hi there XABIER, writing from Portugal here,

nice work in this player's article, i have tried to improve it also. A favour: could you please provide a second title in English for the Basque reference you have provided.

Happy editing, thanks, gora --AL (talk) 21:10, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

  • What did i do wrong to not merit one single word in reply (i would not mind the silence if you had helped me in Abasolo's piece, but neither, and i thought it was a very simple request)? --AL (talk) 23:14, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
  • Done, thank you very much, the article looks very complete, and so much better with our team efforts, great job i tell you! Sorry for the incovenience, did not think of the possibility you had not read the message, hope your holidays were great --AL (talk) 16:05, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Issues in article Reconquista[edit]

Kaixo Xabier, zer moduz doa uda? I wish I wasn´t drawing your attention because of this, I am having a dispute with one breaching edition rules and pushing his point of view (basically not a contributor but a vandal). You may want to take a look, and intervene, which will be much appreciated. Agur bero bat Iñaki LL (talk) 14:48, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Kaixo, eskerrik asko erantzutearren Xabier, I hope your summertime was good. Yes, a bit of a headache my God, and to be honest, didn´t find much of a help on the administrators, I felt like talking at cross purposes! The article still needs improving, good editing if anyone wants to take a bit of time. Anyway, ondo bizi eta hurren arte Iñaki LL (talk) 22:07, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Translation job[edit]

Hi there XABI, how's it going?

i want to ask you a very small favour. Could you please translate the title of the 2nd reference in José Antonio Pikabea's article? Just to make the job a job well done... I believe KOTE must be a sort of a nickname for him or something (i could be wrong though) but the rest i have no idea about :(

Thanks very much in advance, keep it up from Portugal - --AL (talk) 23:34, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the additions in Txiki Begiristain, but please don't engage in OVERLINKING, José Mari Bakero and Luis López Rekarte are already referenced/linked in the above lines OK? The "teammate" mention is also not needed, because they are already referred to as that in the previous paragraph.

Thanks again, regards and happy week - --AL (talk) 19:51, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

  • And who doesn't make mistakes? :) --AL (talk) 21:34, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Changes to Duchy of Vasconia/Gascony[edit]

Kaixo Xabier, ongi? Hope so! Basque is your field as it is mine and I thought you would be interested in following or giving your opinion on an ongoing discussion at the Duchy of Gascony, it is affecting the pillars of contribution to any wikipedia article. Goraintzi Iñaki LL (talk) 11:37, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Ados ados Xabier, I see, good luck with that workload. This invasive intervention shouldn´t go any further, it's about basic wikipedia principles, but who knows. Izan untsa Iñaki LL (talk) 10:22, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Zuazo has abandoned Eastern Navarrese, hasn't he? — kwami (talk) 14:30, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

Only because it's an extinct dialect. He's devoted to the ones still alive. --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 14:36, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Can you add the appropriate ref to Eastern Navarrese? Also, does it include Aezcoano? — kwami (talk) 14:47, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Ref added. Regarding the Azkoan, you can see in this website page that it is included in Navarrese (inside its oriental subdialect) by Zuazo ( follows the Zuazo classification). --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 14:57, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! — kwami (talk) 15:44, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
You're welcome. Thank you for your great job in the languages field! --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 15:47, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

A Barnstar For You![edit]

BoNM Basque Country Hires.png Basque Barnstar of National Merit
I believe you deserve this for all your hard work contributing to Basque-related articles and for being a fantastic administrator on the Euskal Wikipedia! Cheers, Original European (talk) 22:45, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Thank you, Alex! You have brought fresh air to the Basque-related field in the English Wikipedia — we were few editors with (lately) not very frequent contributions, I appreciate very much your editing. Cheers, --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 20:08, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Paul Abasolo[edit]

Hi there XABI, AL "here",

please, keep in mind is not reliable by WP standards. I have removed the link, but have kept his current club and added due categories (if you are sure he plays for that Greek club, i respect your "approach").

I am leaving WP for good at the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, am growing very tired after eight years. Don't hesitate to ask if you need any help until that time comes.

Cheers, happy week --AL (talk) 22:35, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Your thanks[edit]

You're very welcome, Amendaritz. And let me assure you, professional translation is much appreciated on en.WP. Please stay in touch if you need any assistance of the type I can provide. Thanks! Tony (talk) 09:59, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Merge discussion for Bildu[edit]

Hello Xabier,

An article that you have been involved in editing, Bildu, has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you and kind regards. RJFF (talk) 10:49, 2 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello Xabier Armendaritz, I think we have to add more sub title for “Motorcycle”..... Just for your information, still ongoing on a journey doesn’t meant not circumnavigated. Specially for someone who crossed all longitude, crossed Equator line more than 3 time, cover more than 300,000km, visited 94 country and ongoing... Anyway, thanks for your correction, I appreciated it...--AdvPrima (talk) 15:29, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Rivers of Spain[edit]

Hi Xabier Armendaritz, I'm Jokulhlaup and I have made the Rivers of Spain category an all included cat, so that it acts as an overview. Please can we discuss this rather than reverting the edits...Jokulhlaup (talk) 11:02, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

(moved from talk page to keep conversation together) Putting all those rivers again in "Category:Rivers of Spain" makes no sense, it's not consistent with "Category:Rivers of the United Kingdom," "Category:Rivers of the United States," etcetera. --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 11:06, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

I disagree, the same categorization occurs for Category:Rivers of France and Category:Rivers of Portugal, with many rivers from Spain crossing boundaries into these countries, so it does make sense...Jokulhlaup (talk) 11:13, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Not very exemplary usage... but we better continue in the thread you have started in Category talk:Rivers of Spain, so that anyone interested can participate. --Xabier Armendaritz(talk) 11:43, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
