Westbrook is a suburb in the city of Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Some people confuse Westbrook as being part of Highbury, however Highbury is a separate suburb.

Location, population and features[edit]

Westbrook is located north west of Palmerston North Central (CBD). Westbrook had a resident population of 4,254 (2001) [1]

It is characterised by a suburban element fused with a rural feeling. The suburb is the location of the Olive Tree Village and the Manawatu Trotting Club.

Local and Central Government representation[edit]

  • Westbrook is a part of the Takaro Ward in the Palmerston North City Council. It shares this with other suburbs; Highbury, Takaro and Cloverlea.
  • Palmerston North (as at 2006) is represented by New Zealand Labour MP Iain Lees-Galloway.
