Oblique Shock Waves

Oblique shock waves are a phenomena only experienced during transonic, sonic, and hypersonic speeds. The lesser of two types of shock waves (the other is called Normal, and acts on a 90 degree angle to the wing), oblique shock waves nevertheless play an important role in the design considerations for high speed aircraft.

Monroe Shocks and Struts

Hi I am currently interning at Monroe Shocks and Struts. I was suprised to not see anything on this brand on the site. In my opinion this brand is very noteworthy not only because of its recent accomplishments but it's history within the automotive industry as well. Granted, I work with them... so maybe I'm a little biased. Still setting that aside, you can't help but recognize the company. Monroe recently had it's 90th anniversary a few years back, over the summer they started a MySpace page as a way of attracting a younger audience, they've work with schools providing automotive instructors with informational resources and tools that they generally would otherwise not have access to, and just recently launched their website in Spanish (they already had it in French). This is a major step for Monroe and aside from everything they've achieved over the years, it's one of the major shock and struts brand.

It's parent company Tenneco does have an article which could use a link to Monroe.

The Beatles Black Album

Has anyone heard of this Beatles bootleg "The Beatles Black Album" Not the Let It Be / Get Back outtakes version but the album pretending to be a 1972 official release. I'm trying to find out more about this LP/CD or I may even start my own page. courtesy aunt / courtesy cousin

I suggest this info be added or linked to the cousin or aunt page. A courtesy aunt (or uncle) is really just a friend of your parents, who acts as an aunt (or uncle) would, and whom you would normally address as "Aunt Jane(or whatever name)" instead of "Miss/Mrs Jones". A close family friend, but not a "true" relative. Courtesy cousins would be the children of courtesy aunts and uncles. Flash CS3/about/how to use/useful for what?

Flash CS3 is a special software by Adobe that let's you create a game, animations, buttons, or even a whole website!

Flash is what most gamers use. It's so easy to use, believe me, I can even use it with ease! For example, have you ever heard of the game CLUB PENGUIN, or WEBKINZ? Well that's completely made with Flash! WOW!

I'll give an idea of how to use Flash. Go to ADOBE.COM, then in the search box, type, " Flash CS3 ", then click on of the CORRECT results that come up. Click FREE TRIAL, then create an account, and download! Once it's done, open Flash and click Actionscript 2 document. Then you'll see a white workspace, and at the top, you'll see a timeline, with a layer called,"Layer 1." Then, on the side, click on the text tool. Click on the workspace and type a word. Click on the black curser picture on the side, and you'll see that you can't type anymore. Select the word, then click modify at the top, then click convert to symbol. Click on the radio button that says movie, type a name, then click OK. Now, look up at the timeline, and next to layer 1, you'll see upside rectangles. You'll see rectangles after that too. Also, you'll see rectangles below that too. Don't touch those. Now next to layer 1, right click on rectangle 30. There are numbers on top of them. Once the menu comes up, click on insert a keyframe. Now look at the text you typed. Bring it to the right of the workspace. Then drag it across the workspace to the left side. Then on one of the rectangles between rectangle one and thirty, right click on them, then when the menu comes up, click create motion tween.

Hit CONTROL + ENTER on your keyboard, and a movie should come up showing your animation. If your animation is the way you made it, you did it correctly, otherwise, try it again. Congratulations if you did it correctly. You can also browse for pictures, convert them to movies, then you can create a slideshow! Also, FLASH CS3 creates a .swf file of your saved things. This type of file will play your animation. If you burn the file to a CD ROM, then try to play it on another person's computer, make sure that they have FLASH PLAYER 9. If they don't, go to ADOBE.COM, click on the picture that has the text FLASH PLAYER 9, and download it. White Noise (Supernatural Phenomenon)

I have searched Wikipedia all over and nowhere does this subject come to veiw; White noise as a supernatural phenomenon. Maybe someone knows enough about it to at least start an article; It's like EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) but visually instead of auditory. I followed the disambiguation of query 'White Noise' and nothing regarding the supernatural/paranormal phenomenon occured. Only an article about the movie 'White Noise' and another article about it's sequel, 'The Light' which are horror thrillers regarding the exact subject. (See Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Encyclopedia Dramatica and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Encyclopædia Dramatica (3rd nomination).) Because the article keeps being recreated, it has been protected in a process informally described as "salting" (see Wikipedia:Protected deleted pages). In order to create an article on that subject, an editor will need to be able to show that the website is now notable and supply proper sourcing to verify it. I have never personally seen the process whereby salted articles can be restored, but if I were seeking to do so would probably begin by requesting unprotection at requests for page protection (which also handled "unlocking"). traces of death information

I think it would be nice to see a page with information on this film series. It is more realistic than faces of death and its footage is far more gruesome and most of it is all real. Counter strike non profit clans

I created a topic to link off of the Counterstrike (gaming) page. The page lists the clans that are currently making money for a living in professional gaming but briefly browses over clans or groups that have been playing together for years. I would like to create the topic -=U.N.C.L.E=- Clan. One of the reasons that this specific group of players are so unique among others is that they have been playing together on counterstrike for 9 years now. October of 1998 was the creation time period of the gaming clan. It can take some time to get the hang of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and get a feel for what topics will be regarded as notable and what not. In my personal opinion, company articles can be among the hardest to establish. And, remember, if this newly founded company is found to be not notable at this point, it may become so later. It all comes down to the sources that verify that the company is of encyclopedic interest. Matthew Griffin

Matthew Griffin|ˈmaθyoō ˈgrifən| was born December 22, 1987 in San Diego, California.

Matthew attended San Dieguito High School and graduated in 2005.

He started working as a California State Lifeguard in 2004.

The year after graduating, Matthew attended Mira Costa Community College for one semester, then dropped out to buy a sail boat with Jerad Acosta and Matthew Krector, with which they planned to sail the world. Their boat was seized by the San Diego Harbor Police three months later. Throughout this time he had been involved in the band Eon Blue Apocalypse which briefly toured through Los Angeles and San Diego.

Matthew returned to Mira Costa for the summer semester in which he took English I with Philip Lorey, and continued into the Fall semester there.

On Valetine's Day 2007, Matthew and Daniela ventured into South America for two months. They originally planned on travelling four months, but returned early in order to move to Barcelona, Spain in which they spent the summer.

In August they moved to Paris, France.

My Friend of Misery by Metallica

Wiki has an odd idiosyncrasy of only creating pages on singles of albums. For example, the album Metallica has only six links on the track listing... all of which were singles. I think My Friend of Misery deserves it's own page. I know enough about the song to create a stub, unfortuneately, I know nothing about creating an article and it's very confusing to learn how and I want it to be more than a stub. I know that the song was acclaimed for Jason Newsted's work on the bass, it was the only song on Metallica to which Newsted had a writing credit, he used a double-bass as he did in other songs on the album, and that the band no longer performs it live due to Newsted's departure. Hi, Christianmetalcore, and welcome to Wikipedia. Wiki's odd idiosyncrasy is actually related to the policies on verifiability and notability. As the specific guidelines on music say, most songs do not have sufficient coverage in reliable sources for stand-alone articles. If there is widespread coverage in magazines or newspapers, for instance, on "My Friend of Misery", then it may be an exception. Those sources are essential, however. Articles have twice been written on this song already and the articles deleted, most recently in October of this year.

All that said, this is not the board to request that other people write articles for you. That's done at requested articles. You might find it quicker to discuss the matter at the talk page for Talk:Metallica or Talk:Metallica (album). Remember, please, to sign your notes wherever you discuss things by typing ~~~~ or clicking the ~~~~ next to "Sign your username" below the text entry screen.

Pulitzers

I think Wikipedia needs an Article on the Pultizer divorce trial from 1982. It was a divorce that involved Roxanne Pulitzer and Herbert Pulitzer, Jr. I'm a student in college right now doing a report on this trial and I came here because I was almost certain they would have something about it, and I found absolutely no information about it. James Tyler

James Tyler (ca. 1930 - present) is a noted architect who designs in the Miesian style. He began his career working for one of Mies van de Rohe's associates in Utah, then moved to California and became an associate of Craig Ellwood.

While Ellwood took credit for almost all of his studio's larger designs, Tyler claims to have been intimately involved in their creation. The trademark "bridge building" dramatically spanning an arroyo and roadway at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena that Ellwood claimed to be his own has been re-credited by some sources to Tyler. Tyler designed the new wing of the landmark building in 1989, after his split from Ellwood.

Tyler lives with his wife Carolyn in Pacific Palisades, California. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Presuming you want to write it yourself, let me warn you that lists can be somewhat tricky. They seem to pop up quite often in deletion discussions, generally with somebody declaring them "listcruft" or "fancruft"—which basically means that they aren't considered of encyclopedic importance. Sometimes these lists survive deletion discussions; sometimes they do not. You'll increase your list's chances of survival if you follow the policies and guidelines meticulously.

The place to begin is with Wikipedia:Lists, which talks about the use of lists as stand-alone or embedded. It offers suggestions on organization and pointers to several other policies that you should look at, particularly Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists). If this is going to be a small list, you might begin it within The Smiths article. Whether you begin it as embedded or stand-alone, you'll want to be sure that every entry in the list is sourced. If you can't verify from a reliable source that a band was influenced by The Smiths, you can't include it, even if it seems obvious to you. That would constitute original research, which is against Wikipedia policy. More subtly, if you know that music journalist John Brown says that, say, The Spice Girls are influenced by The Smiths while either no respected journalists agree (and perhaps some, including the members of the Spice Girls themselves, flatly disagree), you'll need to be careful not to give undue weight to Brown's opinion, which would violate our neutrality policies. If the influence is disputed or not widely recognized, you should either not include the band or acknowledge the dispute. :)

It seems like creating that one has so far been a bit of a challenge for you. I note that it's been deleted several times for violating copyright. Wikipedia can't accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from web sites or printed material without the express permission of the author or copyright holder. If you choose to recreate the article, you'll want to be careful to put everything into your own words.

The policies that will govern notability on this article are the one on musicians and the one on biographies. As a living individual, Hoge's biography is also governed by the guidelines on biographies of living persons, which requires that we be especially careful to verify everything with reliable sources and that we pay particular attention to maintaining a neutral tone.

I see that a year ago, the article on Josh Hoge was deleted for failing to have sufficient notability. (You can see the very brief conversation on that over here.) In order to establish a new article, you're going to have be able to demonstrate that his notability has changed using several reliable sources. Your first source is not a credible newspaper or magazine, though perhaps it might lead you to some. I'm afraid that the Washington Times piece is excluded as a source, since the WP:MUSIC guideline specifically excludes, "Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report performance dates or the publications of contact and booking details in directories." The Morning Call piece looks promising, but there will need to be more than that to satisfy criterion #1 of the notability guideline.

The Three-Pass Protocol is a cryptographic framework for securely exchanging messages between two parties without any need to exchange or distribute cryptographic keys. Each party has a private encryption key and a private decryption key. These keys are not known to any other parties, and are never exchanged or distributed. Each party may use a different pair of keys for each message, and those keys may be deleted after the message exchange.

The protocol requires an encryption function E and a decryption function D with the property that for any message m, encryption key e and corresponding decryption key d you have D(d,E(e,m))=m. It is further required that if a message is encrypted twice, say using the encryption keys e and f that D(d,E(f,E(e,m)))=E(f,m). This can be accomplished in several ways. The simplest case is if the encryption function is commutative, that is E(f,E(e,m)))=E(e,E(f,m))). Another possibility is that the encryption function commutes with the decryption function D(d,E(f,m))=E(f,D(d,m)). It is also possible for the encryption and decryption functions to partially commute, where each function consists of two steps which commute pairwise.

If D and E are suitably chosen encryption and decryption functions, then the message can be securely exchanged between the sender and the receiver using three passes. Assume the sender's encryption and decryption keys are s and t and the receiver's keys are r and q.

Pass one: The sender encrypts the message m as E(s,m) and transmits this to the receiver.

Pass two: The receiver super-encrypts the message as E(r,E(s,m)) and transmits this back to the sender.

Pass three: The sender removes the first encryption by decrypting with the key t as D(t,E(r,E(s,m)))=E(r,m) and transmits this to the receiver.

The receiver can now decrypt the message using the key q as D(q,E(r,m))=m.

The method is strong when it is computationally difficult to determine the message when the three transmitted encrypted messages E(s,m), E(r,E(s,m)) and E(r,m) are all known to an eavesdropper.

There are two widely known Three-Pass Protocol algorithms, the Shamir algorithm in which the functions E and D consist of raising the message to a power modulo a large [prime number|prime]], and the Massey-Omura algorithm in which the functions E and D consist of raising the message to a power within a Galois field GF(2ⁿ).

Two other Three-Pass Protocol algorithms which are believed to be insecure are the Bisi algorithm in which each byte of the message is multiplied by the corresponding key byte, and the keylilla algorithm in which each byte of the message is exclusive-ored with the corresponding key byte.

Hi, Contestcen. :) Like all articles, this would be governed by the notability guidelines and would require reliable sources to verify the information. This will help demonstrate that the above is not original research, which is not permitted, or a neologism in insufficient usage to merit an encyclopedic article. The use of sources will also help you to avoid the very slight case of "weasel" words you have going on with "are believed to be". Wikipedia frowns on that kind of thing; it's better to let us know who says so. :) (That applies to statements like "The method is strong", too.)

Other than that, your tone seems spot on, so if you can bring in some good sourcing, you'd be in pretty good shape. At that point, you'd be looking at basic style issues you might want to work on. The above has some wikilinks but might use a few more, since it's a specialized field. If it were my article, I would link "cryptographic keys" to Key (cryptography). The Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links) has more suggestions on what links to implement, what to avoid. (Avoiding seems less an issue for you than some folks. :D) Another issue you might want to consider is sectioning. Sectioning would make the article more visually friendly and also make it more evident that it is not a "how to" guide by drawing more attention to the material on various algorithms, for instance.

www.merolagani.com is Nepal's First virtual stock trading site based on Nepal Stock Exchange. This site was made keeping in mind that the Nepal Stock Exchange trades on traditional system and does not have the facilities of online stock trading. This is a big problem for the country's capital market as few people in the market easily speculate the prices of securities.

The objective of the site is to empower the Nepalese investor with information about various aspects of the market. Investors can see any company's share price movement history, they can get financial data of the companies listed and can search for inside information about the company available on the discussion board.

The site offers it's users 1 million rupees at the time they register which they can use for buying securities that trade in the market. The calculations are based on the closing price of previous day of the securities. The closest we seem to have at the moment are List of actors who played Santa Claus and Christmas film.

If you want to write a more specific list, you can certainly do so, but let me warn you that lists can be somewhat tricky to establish. They seem to pop up quite often in deletion discussions, generally with somebody declaring them "listcruft"—which basically means that they aren't considered of encyclopedic importance. Sometimes these lists survive deletion discussions; sometimes they don't. You'll increase your list's chances of survival if you follow the policies and guidelines meticulously.

The place to begin is with Wikipedia:Lists, which talks about the use of lists as stand-alone or embedded. It offers suggestions on organization and pointers to several other policies that you should look at, particularly Wikipedia:Lists (stand-alone lists). With the recent influx of Japanese music into the U.S. I think it would be cool to highlight the only magazine that covers this topic in English for the fans here. It would make it a lot easier to quote interviews in other wikis if people could follow the quote back to this source.
