As part of Emerson's 3rd Annual Teach-in on Race, the Iwasaki Library will host a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon focusing on screenwriters of color.
Special guest, Professor Rae Shaw will speak at 2:30PM about her work in this area.

FAQ
[edit]I've never edited Wikipedia before, can I still participate?
--Yes! We will help you with basic editing skills or you can check out these online tutorials.
I can only come for part of the event, is that OK?
--Yes! We're happy to have you for whatever part of the day you can join us.
Do I need to bring a laptop or other device?
--No, but you can if you want to. The event is being held in the library classroom (W322) so we can host up to 21 editors at once.

[edit]The Iwasaki Library has many resources that will be useful for editing articles. We will have some print resources available in the classroom for you to consult. Also, you may find the following databases helpful:
- Biography Resource Center (All biography, all the time)
- Credo Reference (General reference database with over 3 million entries from 300+ reference books in a variety of subjects.)
- Ethnic NewsWatch (Full-text articles from newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic, minority, and native press)
- Film and Television Literature Index with Full Text (Our top film research database)
- Internet Movie Database (IMDB) (A good place to start for basic information and for adding screenwriting credits to wiki pages)
- The New York Times (Full-text from the first issue in 1851 through today)
- Variety Insight (Similar to IMDB Pro)
