It's fun to draw some major theme around the topics of the week, but frankly this report is quite generic; the only unusual feature is a bunch of MCU topics that spiked due to some MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS!! Other than that, there's a bunch of unrelated films, deaths, TV and politics, in usual amounts. Oh, and monkeypox came back.

1	The Gray Man (2022 film)	1,180,156	Former Mouseketeer and Young Hercules star Ryan Gosling has come a long way and has plenty of momentum to keep going with sequels and spin-offs of his Netfix thriller film already announced. Gosling was also in the news publicizing his role as Ken in Greta Gerwig's Barbie film due for release in July 2023.
2	Hunter Moore	1,048,357	Still on Netflix, but non-fiction, was the miniseries The Most Hated Man on the Internet, concerning this guy and his website Is Anyone Up?, which became a haven of revenge porn.
3	Deaths in 2022	950,612	You better watch out Oh, what you wish for It better be worth it So much to die for
4	Tony Dow	931,514	The older brother in Leave It to Beaver, who also worked as a director, sculptor and effects artist, died at the age of 77.
5	Nope (film)	930,777	Jordan Peele continues to show he's a surprisingly good horror director with Nope, although it's not as acclaimed as his previous films Get Out and Us.
6	Droupadi Murmu	885,977	India's new president was elected last week, and sworn in this week, as unlike America India's presidential transition period is only a few days long.
7	2022 monkeypox outbreak	852,237	The monkeypox outbreak was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organisation, which is basically WHO-speak for "a bad thing that is around the world and progressively getting worse". Fortunately, as a disease it is less severe than AIDS, much less transmissive than COVID-19, and it's been around since the 1970s, meaning we know how to treat it and vaccines are available, which was not the case for COVID-19 or AIDS when they first emerged.
8	Paul Sorvino	789,617	A character actor who died at the age of 83, leaving behind an extensive filmography that included works such as Goodfellas, Reds, Law & Order and Nixon, as well as three children, including fellow actors Mira Sorvino and Michael Sorvino.
9	Black Panther: Wakanda Forever	780,586	Four months before release a trailer was finally issued for the last Marvel Cinematic Universe movie of 2022, which has the major issue of being a sequel to Black Panther when lead actor Chadwick Boseman died before filming started. Positive reaction to the preview, which included tributes to Boseman and a first look at Namor, shows people are more than willing to return to Wakanda.
10	2022 Commonwealth Games	676,511	The Olympic Games for former British Empire countries began in Birmingham (the original one, Americans) and has largely gone smoothly so far, except for a major rail strike. The Games were originally going to be hosted in Durban, but got moved in 2017 due to concerns about financing.
11	Nambi Narayanan	653,754	The Indian film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is about India's space program and the role Narayanan played in it, was released on Amazon Prime Video, less than a month after its release.
12	Thor: Love and Thunder	630,900	This Marvel movie came out, though apparently one of its main characters didn't, even though the out actress who may be dating the director strongly suggested she would. Besides that, it's another Taika Waititi movie, yay! The internet can't decide if it likes it or not! Even if you don't like Thor or Natalie Portman's muscles, if you want to watch a different Marvel project you will probably need to see this, so out you go, boy, all the way to the moving picture show!
13	Andrew Tate	590,945	Former kickboxer turned internet personality denies accusations of human trafficking. Tate is an unreconstructed masculine man or an unreformed rampant misogynist depending on your point of view.
14	List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films	584,068	San Diego Comic-Con shed light upon the future of Marvel Studios' license to print money. The rumors of Secret Wars being the way these multiversal shenanigans would end turned out to be right, as 2025 has Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be preceded by a new Fantastic Four and all of Phase Five. (see #16 and #22 for more)
15	Shamshera	562,646	India seems to have a lot of period action films, and this one really didn't work out, opening to poor reviews and terrible box-office.
16	Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Four	503,455	Kevin Feige surprised the MCU fans announcing that just two years in, the post-Endgame phase would wrap at the end of 2022, with #9 being its last movie - Disney+ still has She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a Halloween special possibly starring Werewolf by Night, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
17	World's littlest skyscraper	499,704	Reddit returns after a long absence, highlighting a Wichita Falls, Texas building that its owner swindled investors into by not making them notice the blueprints said 480" (inches) as opposed to 480' (feet) - 12 m and 150 m for the rest of the world.
18	2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine	498,815	Russia's invasion of Ukraine is still going on and still awful, although its domination of the news cycle ended long ago, exemplified by how close it is to falling off this list.
19	Mira Sorvino	497,496	#8's daughter, who early in her career got an Oscar for Mighty Aphrodite, but then stumbled upon poor role choices and Harvey Weinstein smearing her name (something Paul did not take lightly) to never take off properly - still, many will be forever thankful for Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.
20	Bernard Cribbins	494,857	One more artist death in a 93-year-old Brit, with stints in singing (including "Right Said Fred", making him forever connected to the "I'm Too Sexy" guys) and acting (his role in the recent Doctor Who will apparently now include a posthumous appearance next year).
21	Ana de Armas	478,377	#1 marks another work for this Cuban actress who has been quite busy since breaking to prominence in Blade Runner 2049, and who in September will play Marilyn Monroe in Blonde.
22	Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Five	474,935	Proving things are somewhat faster in the MCU, #16's succession will also last only two years. Along with the sequels to Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel people already knew about, 2023 has Mahershala Ali as Blade, while 2024 brings a movie for the Sam Wilson Captain America introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and the debut of villainous team Thunderbolts. And that's not counting all the Disney+ shows!
23	Liz Truss	461,953	The Foreign Secretary is up against Rishi Sunak to become the next prime minister of the United Kingdom. Expect to see her and Rishi back here at the start of September when the results of the leadership election are announced.
24	Better Call Saul (season 6)	450,307	The Breaking Bad spin-off series is coming to a close and Jimmy McGill nears apotheosis as Saul Goodman. This week the series took a diversion and flashed forward to after the fall of Saul Goodman, where he lives a quiet life under the assumed name of Gene Takavic and manages a Cinnabon in Nebraska, but somehow gets involved in one more con.
25	Marvel Cinematic Universe	445,976	Look, Comic-Con is 50% Marvel announcements nowadays, we're all dealing with it in our own way.
