Marvelous Musical March

In a way it's a week full of music - a techno singer died (#3, #16), Freddie Mercury (#4) and his friends (#24) seem to just keep themselves in the Report, those old claims about Michael Jackson resurfaced (#8, #10, #17), a rock star's comic is adapted (#12), R. Kelly's image is still dirty (#20), the Jonas Brothers reunited (#22, #25) and Lady Gaga is still on the spotlight (#24). Gaga also helps a female presence in the week of International Women's Day (#9), where theaters see the release of a powerful superhero once known as Ms. Marvel (#2, #7), Google homages a female mathematician (#5), ... and on less flattering notes, there are entries with women dying (#13) or gathering attention for their love lives (#14). Still, the top entry is another death (#11) the same day as that singer, namely of an actor (and #15 is another deceased thespian). A TV host revealing an unfavorable diagnosis (#6), a holiday (#18), a hoax (#19) and a sports event (#21) complete our list.

2	Captain Marvel (film)	2,340,178	11 months after the post-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War, comes the movie where Carol Danvers, a fighter pilot turned space cop, crashes on Earth in the mid-1990s and shows audiences why Nick Fury, who looks straight out of Die Hard with a Vengeance, would ask for her help to stop a giant purple bastard. Light-hearted and fun like most Marvel Cinematic Universe entries, Captain Marvel already got good reviews and opened to a whopping $455 million worldwide, in spite of the badmouthing by stupid men's rights activists who seemingly can't accept any movie starring a strong woman.
3	Keith Flint	1,739,259	Got a lousy haircut, a really stupid haircut! Rave music owes much to The Prodigy (#16) and its two singers named Keith, one of whom tragically hung himself at the age of 49.
4	Freddie Mercury	1,402,368	22 straight reports with the King of Queen (#24)! "Are you happy, are you satisfied? How long can you stand the heat?"
5	Olga Ladyzhenskaya	1,121,525	Google homaged this Russian mathematician who in spite of a tough childhood, owing mostly to her father being jailed and executed by Soviet authorities who accused him of being an “enemy of the state”, became very prolific and recognized in her field.
6	Alex Trebek	1,039,358	The long-tenured Jeopardy! host announced he is battling pancreatic cancer, but will continue on the show for as long as he can.
7	Brie Larson	997,779	"Call me Captain Marvel (#2), eternal light These gravely digs of mine Will surely prove a sight."
8	Michael Jackson	981,146	In June, it will be ten years since the shocking and Wiki-breaking death of the King of Pop. And so apparently it's time to again ignore his awesome music and just claim he was a molester without any real evidence to back that up, as shown in the bias documentary Leaving Neverland (#17).
9	International Women's Day	973,486	With females still struggling to get properly recognized, this year had many women forgoing being congratulated on March 8. 14	Kate Beckinsale	702,974	Love is hard to understand: just a few months after calling off his engagement with Ariana Grande, Pete Davidson is now attached to an even more beautiful woman, this British actress 20 years his senior, best known for playing a vampire in the Underworld movies.
15	Jan-Michael Vincent	671,193	Cardiac arrest took this actor best known for a leading role in Airwolf in February, but only this month TMZ discovered it.
16	The Prodigy	670,733	In spite of the faces of the band who sung about arson and inhaling being the Keith with a peculiar hairstyle (#3) and the Black Keith, the songwriting and production of this iconic techno band came from Liam Howlett (pictured). The band's website now has a memorial to the late Keith Flint.
17	Leaving Neverland	642,260	HBO and Channel 4 aired their co-production, a two part documentary where Wade Robson (#10) and another person with no Wikipedia page claim our #8 molested them in his Neverland Ranch (pictured). The Jackson estate and his supporters have defended the King of Pop, and have stated the documentary is slanderous and bias.
18	Ash Wednesday	609,269	Also known in my country as New Year's Day, because some people in Brazil only feel things starting once Carnival ends.
19	Momo Challenge	604,291	Like the Blue Whale (game) two years ago, a social media scare about grim tasks leading to suicide. Experts say it's a hoax, albeit with the concession that parents should probably not show kids the creepy statue which has been associated with it.
20	R. Kelly	596,062	One time collaborator of Michael Jackson (#8) who arguably fell from grace even lower, R. Kelly got arrested on unpaid child support claims, released once an unidentified person finished off the $161,633 debt, and interviewed by Gayle King on CBS This Morning.

22	Nick Jonas	575,419	Last year, he only entered some Reports (even our yearly one!) because his wife is huge in India. Nick now earns an entry on his own. Sort of. It's still related to his musical group of siblings (which missed the list at #27), as they reunited and released a new song.
23	Lady Gaga	550,829	Now an Academy Award winner, but still not Bradley Cooper's lover.
24	Queen (band)	472,132	Along with planning the next concerts with Freddie's (#4) replacement Adam Lambert, Brian & Rog are planning a Bohemian Rhapsody sequel - maybe one less melodramatic and more accurate, as nearly $900 million worldwide proves loads of people will watch a Queen-related movie?
