Problem
[edit]We need to go around the disambiguation page for Macedonia (which refers also to the Macedonia (Greece) where the old calendar is not observed for Orthodox feast days). Someone should change to Republic of Macedonia. Thanks. NikoSilver 09:13, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Section 28
[edit]This is very oddly-worded. Section 28 did indeed cause a lot of controversy, and it was repealed 15 years later, but to link the two doesn't work. In other words it might leave the reader thinking "Surely if it caused so much controversy it would have been repealed much sooner?" Sam Blacketer (talk) 09:39, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Liberation of Khorramshahr
[edit]on 24 May 1982 during the Iran–Iraq War, the Liberation of Khorramshahr was the Iranian recapture of the port city of Khorramshahr from the Iraqis after 575 days. I want to nominate Liberation of Khorramshahr for WP:OTD. ThanksLstfllw203 (talk) 17:35, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Lstfllw203: Hey, I just added your requested blurb to the list. Mhhossein (talk) 05:41, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, I took it out. We have a lot of significant anniversaries this year (so many that I couldn't use all of them), so it will have to wait until next year. —howcheng {chat} 06:27, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Howcheng: I was surprised, current list contains articles which had appeared on the main page multiple times. "Liberation of khorramshahr" has never appeared there and I think is a significant event in comparison with titles such as Judgment of Paris (wine)! Mhhossein (talk) 07:59, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- True, but the significant anniversaries (multiples of 10 and 25) get top priority, and I still had to leave out articles that have 10th and 75th anniversaries. —howcheng {chat} 17:17, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, we have to comply with the rules! Thanks for the explanation Howcheng. --Mhhossein (talk) 04:38, 23 May 2016 (UTC)

2019 request
[edit]Howcheng 24 May 2019 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria (born Princess Alexandrina Victoria of Kent). It's a FA, so should be good for either a blurb or OTD birth. Mjroots (talk) 14:11, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Mjroots: She normally appears on June 20, the anniversary of her inauguration. I suppose we can move her to her birthday just for this year. —howcheng {chat} 16:48, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Howcheng As I listed Liberation of Khorramshahr,I wondered if you agree with that?Saff V. (talk) 05:53, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Saff V.: OTD only includes six items when TFA/DYK is long and the two sides gets out of balance. That article was included recently (2017) and there is a large pool of eligible articles, so I prefer to let some others get a chance. Thanks. —howcheng {chat} 06:08, 13 May 2019 (UTC)
